Woo Young-Woo (Park Eun-Bin) is extremely smart and she also has autism spectrum disorder. She never forgets what she sees, but she lacks in social skills and empathy. Woo Young-Woo begins to work as a trainee lawyer at a large law firm. While working there, she faces prejudice and irrationality against her, but she solves cases with her own unique perspective and grows as a lawyer.

ireum Aug 15 2022 8:59 pm @what is what, i also agree with what you said about the romance part of the main characters. maybe junho's love for young woo could have been better expressed through an unconditional and enduring friendship, not through a romantic relationship. i think that's deeper and more genuine.

i actually think that junho was moving too fast, especially when he tried to kiss youngwoo in the office of myungseok. like, isn't he taking advantage of young woo??? that's kind of a letdown for me.

but other than that, i really love the story and portrayal of all the other relationships with young woo (her father, mr. hairy, geu rami, suyeon, and myungseok). the casting and acting are all excellent! park eun bin is such a brilliant actress. this drama deserves all the attention it's getting. kang tae oh is also a great actor!

To be honest, I love the romance at first, but as we moved down the episodes exploring their relationship...it felt so much one-sided in a way and I get, she is autistic, but it's not something to be overlooked, they can talk about complementing each other's needs...He should communicates, if they end up together, seriously it will be so fake and unreal...No one can survive to be in a relationship that long...Jumbo needs to be loved emotionally...I know Autistic Youngwoo may find it hard, but she can learn it and that's how I have known special needs relationship to work. Just like how Junho told her at an episode how to have a proper conversation with her bf over a video call. Watching episode 13 and 14 just cringed me out...so impossible...Junho is human being too and not a robot with no feelings that need to be met. To be honest. I kind of at this point so much believe Youngwoo doesn't deserve Junho.

What is what Aug 15 2022 4:33 am The first few episodes were cute and nice, I thought this would be a drama where everyone is supportive towards each other. I was happy that Youngwoo has someone like Junho who supports her and is willing to listen to her whatever she is talking about. But the plot where Minwoo starting to become a jerk and the romance between Junho x Youngwoo, it becomes cringey and cliché. I don’t like the love plot between Suyeon and Minwoo too. Lmao Suyeon clearly deserves better. Seems like the writer is trying to make Minwoo likeable after what he did but I am disgusted at any love plot around him. I personally think Junho deserves better, too. Not hating on him dating someone with autism, but we can see how he is already hurt when she didn’t notice his feelings and talk about something else. I guess people should stop romanticising the drama’s loveline and think realistically. The part where Mr Jung cough blood and have stomach cancer is so weird. It escalated quickly and unnecessary. The drama is cringe. I don’t understand the hype.

I have no problems with their acting, they’re amazing.

Da Pup Aug 12 2022 11:25 am It's a rare K-drama that can sustain its momentum beyond the halfway point (normally episode 8). Sadly this drama hasn't managed it. Sending the main characters to Jeju Island for a two-parter is a sure sign the writers were running dry of ideas. Before that wasn't all roses either. Some of the legal cases were a bit "off" by western standards, such as the child abductor or the corporate sexual discrimination cases. Overall this series has been a mixed bag so far and I'm really hoping it will pull out of its nose dive before the end.

Elle Aug 10 2022 4:17 pm I love this drama so much. The writing is always good. The only hole I've noticed is how Junho hasn't found out what his friend/roommate did to YW. That post seemed like a big deal but somehow Junho hasn't mentioned. I wonder if they'll bring it back up in a later episode. I truly hope Minwoo is taught a lesson by the end of the drama because his character is the worst.

Park Eun Bin made an iconic character. Now I have to finish Hot Stove League for her.

The latest episodes were a commentary about society morals, and the problems it presents for an autistic person. In the last episode, Woo knows as a lawyer she has to defend her client, but she also knows it was wrong - she struggled so hard with herself to discredit the witness. Her facial expression said it all. Brilliant acting. This versus Kang Ki Young - who won a past case, which he knew was wrong - and the guilt that was laying low but remained within him - as he ran in fear - ending with him wondering if he was sick.

It is a brilliant series - using an autistic person to make us examine our morals from another perspective. Maybe we might learn something about ourselves.

susan Aug 05 2022 1:13 am Everyone has their own opinion, but for me, I don't see any problems with the love line or romance aspect of this drama. It's also a part of Young Woo's life journey, so I think the writer/director did a good job portraying the life journey of an autistic person. We will soon see the public stigma associated with autism in a relationship, and I believe it will be interesting to see how the issue will be resolved.

Just saying Aug 03 2022 8:16 pm I don't like that they give emphasis on Romance on the second half. I understand people with Autism can love too but that's not the point. There are already many romance kdrama out there but there are only few that give attention to this condition. Subtle romance is enough but seeing how people react now looks like their attention is in romance more than Atty Woo, a genius person with Autism and the struggles that life brings her.

I know the writers need to move the story along but really do they have to ruin the lovely feelings from Young Woo and Jun ho by giving us the bitter taste of Young Woo's mom and Min Woo. Really? Do they have to do that??? Really????

Just let us bask in the beauty of that couple until the end of the episode. Please.

I felt so in-love with them and my heart flutters the way they showed genuine love for each other. I don't like to see Atty. Woo Young-Woo to suffer heartache and heartbreak. Please writer, make their lovestory a very happy ending.

Kira Jul 31 2022 3:29 am Deserve the high rating sooo much!!! Love this drama a lot. Its not boring at all. All episodes are exciting on their own. Love how each episode is dedicated to a case while also giving the spotlight to Woo Young-Woo, great acting from all!

Hope they keep an open ending, because it would make so much sense to keep on going with other seasons, since the plot is very episode based. Even if not it's so great and definitely something I would watch again :)

The line “It’s hard to love me”was so real and our boy stepped up to the plate acknowledging the challenges ahead but he is willing to take them on !!!!!!!

IMO the mother is a piece of work and is acting out of selfishness. How are you helping her by sending her away. Yet the other day you wanted to hire to work at your firm!!!!! Straight up hypocrite!!!!!

She beliefs that it's not a coincident for Woo-Young to be working at Hanbada, but she knows it's not Woo-Young's fault and blamed the adults around her for wanting to use her daughter to ruin her career. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Peter M Jul 27 2022 4:56 pm Park Eu-Bin performance is superb. The only other time I have seen her perform in one other drama 'Father, I'll Take Cate of You'. I will now follow her work more closely. Kang Tae-Ho's performance is also top class especially because he conpellingky plays a genuinely kind, warm-hearted and trustworthy man's strong affections for Woo Young-Woo in delicate manner. I am also extrenely impressee by Joo Hyun Young. She effortlessly switches between being humorous and serious moods. Her facial expressions transparently express her feelings. Great drama! Essential viewing!

Then I started watching EAW because it's a law drama and I also like this type of drama. However, I didn't expect there will be a loveline between main leads. I don't know what'll happen to their ending but I hope it's the best for both of them. I'm always excited waiting for Wednesday and Thursday to arrive. Highly recommended to watch! EAW, fighting!

How both performed face expression transformation so natural and subtle. Not too much not too obscure. Just perfect. Even JK's whisper, she seemed afraid people nearby might heard then found out her secret.

KTI has such a likeable & charming face while PEB has her role nailed to a T. The budding romance between WYW & LJH is something I have been rooting for. LJH is such a kind and lovely character, looking beyond the normal physical attributes of a GF for an autistic but brilliant WYW, with all her quirkiness but genuine sincerity. I'm definitely rooting for these 2 adorable love-birds!

And at the first look, I don't realize the lead was Park Eun-bin! I love her so much, but why I don't realize it sooner?? Maybe my love wasn't enough ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Her acting is superb!!!!

Young woo(and the actress) is super adorable! i love her acting and character so much! i’ll be so sad when this ends ;—; <3333

Sentinel Jul 21 2022 8:18 pm I've cried so many times since ep 1-2 watching Young-woo. I don't really feel pity for her, just sympathy, pride ans thankful. It adds that Park Eun-bin did really, really amazing job portraying the character Woo Young-woo that she looks very adorable and charming to me. The few last scenes of ep 6 and 8 where she reveals her vulnerability and the dialogues cried me a river. When Young-woo answered Tae Su-mi's question, you can see a minute trembling on her lips before she spoke. The awesome scene directing and good acting is just amazing. This one is a rare 10/10.

As for the 8th episode. Amazing last 5 minutes! I would be surprised if the 8th episode does not go past 14% rating!

Vikram Jul 21 2022 3:56 pm I remember Park Eun Bin from Hello my Twenties. There she played a bubbly happy-go-lucky character and it formed a certain image of her as an Actor. But in this series, I have just watched 48mins of 1st episode, and I am blown away by her acting. She has really put in a lot of hard work in understanding people with Autism - the way she walks, talks, and behaves is so real.

A true Oscar-worthy performance for sure.

00woo Jul 20 2022 3:14 pm In my own opinion most koreans idolize an actress based on looks though park eun bin is cute and good looking, I’ve already seen a lots of kdramas and I can say that only park eun bin and lee yuri can portray any roles with a very impressive acting, they can portray comedy, horror, lovestory,drama, a crazy or an odd character which Ive never seen this from an A lists of korean actresses. Eun bin deserve to be recognize, she’s a real talent with good personality. She even far more so much better than those A lists drama actresses with her age. I wonder why most of good actresses are not that popular in korea?

Quite genius in itself. I love the actors and actresses for they all work so well together and bring a special tone to the film. I am hooked, many scenes in the film brings tears to my eyes. The film warms my heart that has become colder over the years.

She is the first Korean actor I've seen so far who has the ability to be a character actor like Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp, and Jared Leto. She has the ability to make each of her characters a totally different individual. While other actors certainly has the ability to act, character actors such as Park Eun Bin doesn't show any similarity in any of the roles that she portray. She keeps on improving after each and every project she does. Excellent!

I like the story and how it is respectful towards autism. It showcases very vital information and makes it understandable to the general public how and what an autistic person and their family goes through. At the same time, the writer and director was able to make the drama very interesting to watch. Good job!

The "Spring Sunshine" part between Woo Young Woo and Choi Su Yeon in episode 5 made me really cry. I think it's the most touching scene I have watched in a long while.

I hope in the real world, there are a lot more people like WYW's best friend Geurami, and her team, especially Jun Ho and Su Yeon who would be more understanding and patient with autistic people.

My sister has autism and she has zero friends. People who stuck around her are only those trying to take advantage of her. She was bullied most of her life even by some family and relatives.

More power to you EAWYW! I finally have something to look forward to every week.

Conor Jul 13 2022 12:29 pm As someone who worked with autistic children for many years, I usually find it quite distressing to watch the portrayal of autistic individuals by actors. While the actual fundamental elements of autism can be researched quite easily, what is not so east to portray are the movements, the facial expressions and idiosyncrasies of the disorder. I cringe when I see non autistic actors and production companies use autism as a tool to generate income and profit.

The one and only possible upside of tv programs like this is that perhaps it might help bring some understanding of autism to a wider audience. However, a point to note is that on a % basis, the number of "genius" autistic individuals as portrayed in TV series is less common than the number of genius individuals in the general population. That is to say, extremely rare.

As many as 1 in 10 Autistic Savants can display Splinter Skills but not at the "genius" level. It is incredibly rare where these skill can be used by the savants in abstract or applied situations. Skills seen in Autistic Savants can be obsessive memorization of sports trivia or facts, music scores, number sequences sometimes calculations, dates in history. The difficulty for the savants is that most do not have the ability to apply these skills to problem solving or every day life.

All that said, Autism is a Spectrum Disorder. There are many people who may actually be on the Autistic Spectrum but never diagnosed (or if diagnosed, they may be good at masking the symptoms from the rest of us) because of the mildness of the disorder. They can be high functioning people in good jobs with the ability to carry out all normal tasks required of them. The person next to us may in fact be slightly autistic and you or I never know it.

Anyway, I will watch and perhaps post a review at the end of the series.

Truly confortong, even if the episode 3 was a bit hard to watch. It's amazing how much research went into this drama it portrays so many key aspect of the disorder; sensory issues/sensitivity, Theory of the mind, special interest, stimming and social anxiety. I can't wait to see more and i'm rooting for the romance TTvTT

They captured autism correctly: -speech delay -repetition of speech -remembering specific things in detail -avoidance of eye contact (which most people would not tolerate at all) -moving left and right -walking unusually -expressionless or making wrong face expression -unable to guess people facial expression and what they mean -talk in monotone, too fast, too quiet or too loud

This kind of awareness is what people need to acknowledge and tolerate.

The problem with neurotypicals (normal people) is, they can't tell the difference between neurotypicals and neurodivergents (autists and aspies)

Both are obsessed with specific topics, have repetitive routine, awkward movements and likes to speak fast and likes to repeat others' words. My brother is obsessed with dinosaurs and WW1&2 history, to the extent that he memorized numerous thick books about them. Sadly, he is unable to excel in school because it is of little interest to him. I am somewhat envious of Young-Woo because she has an understanding and loving father, and was able to meet an open-minded and understanding guy like the male lead Lee Jun-Ho, unlike my brother who lives with a mother who doesn't understand him and lets out her anger on him at every turn. It makes me cry watching this series. Great story and great acting.

I've got some theories regarding Young Woo's dad, CEO Han, and Taesan's CEO but let's see~ I also think that Jun Ho might have an experience being/dealing with someone with autism. If not, then he's just super kind, gentle, and understanding!

After this, maybe they will make an austistic teacher drama. already finished 2 episodes. I don't skip at all and don't feel bored. I like actress Park Eun Bin. all the characters he can carry nicely. but in genres do not point to romantic tags. I think maybe ML will crush with FL in a colleague. One wrong move, viewers might consider her role as an insulting one for setting wrong depiction regarding certain group of people. So far she delivers. Subtle but bold or the other way around. Sounds like an oxymoron, but that was my take regarding EB's works in ep 1. Also, PEB set the bar and everyone involved in this drama must follow her lead or end up as a liability, worse, take the blame later. lol. Everyone in this drama, including all behind the scenes position:, wardrobe coordinator, hairstylist. My take about first ep: Whilst I was watching it, before I knew it, one hour passed me by and I am a fastidious one. Go figure! I like the two male actors (maybe both would be the MLs. Heck if it takes two MLs to deal with PEB, why not?), they provide so many "space" to EB. Their reserved attitude (fake or sincere, i still dunno) is perfectly depicted. Thank you writers team for that! Big hope for consistency upon this tvdrama. Still too early. I don't care about the rating, though.
