Lee Dong-Sik (Shin Ha-Kyun) was once a capable detective. He now works at the Manyang Police Substation in a small city and does all the tedious chores at the station. His life is quiet there. One day, Detective Han Joo-Won (Yeo Jin-Goo) is transferred to the same police substation. He is assigned to work as Lee Dong-Sik’s boss and also his partner. Han Joo-Won is an elite detective and comes from a distinguished background. His father has a good chance of becoming the next chief at the National Police Agency. Han Joo-Won also has a secret.

A serial murder case takes place in the small, peaceful city. The case is the same serial murder case that took place 20 years ago and changed Lee Dong-Sik’s life. The two detectives work to catch the killer.

It was Dong Sik who put it there so that atleast some police attention goes to Kang Jin Mook who has been killing silently. Yu Yeon's fingers were found as a sign that he hid yu yeon somewhere very close (the wall)

John Apr 16 2021 4:48 am This one richly deserves its multiple nominations. The storyline is meaningfully conveyed. The cinematography is delicately aiming to touch different levels of emotions. The performance of every cast, not to mention the nominated actors', which is extradinarily terrific, is convincing and consistent in every scene. Praise to the screenwriter and the creator for this masterpiece. Will be rooting for Beyond Evil to claim a lot of prizes soon.

pied piper Apr 15 2021 11:01 pm just finished this yesterday so here's a non spoiler review. so usually for any kdrama i never write reviews, but for this one i will write.

so first off i have seen a lot of different kdramas of different genres in these years but in case of psychological thrillers/crime/murder dramas i personally feel that Korea is the best, and BE is no different.

I'll be very honest, first episode wasn't really that interesting as it was only setting up the base of a truckload of suspense in the coming episodes, and i'm glad i gave it a chance beyond the first two episodes.

As the plot begins to take off, i was at the edge of my seat because with this drama, you cannot predict much, there are so many twists and shocking events that'll leave you flabbergasted and wanting for more.

The plot is a heavy one which will make you confused but in the end everything pans out smoothly- one of the best portions of the drama, and this one has very less loopholes which can be ignored. All in all, the drama has no extra unwanted emotions, everything is to the point and precise.

What makes this drama all the more exciting is its stellar cast like Shin Ha-kyun and Yeo Jin-goo who do absolute justice to their role and manage to keep one engaged deeply into the drama.

The script, the setting, the direction, the cast everything is on spot, this is by far one of the best dramas of 2021 that will make you delve deep into the thriller and honestly i never rewatch any dramas but with this one i just might!

Thinking Apr 15 2021 12:07 pm SPOILERS! To anyone saying that all this mess happened because of a car accident, N O. If you have time to write this comment then also think for a while. Yu Yeon was supposed to die anyway, whether by Jin Mook or Gi Hwan. If the former happened, I don't know for sure what the outcome would have been. But one thing is for sure that if Jin Mook got caught in the alternate story, Gi Hwan and Chang Jin would have conspired to kill him just like what happened in this drama. Why? Well if you have been paying attention, Jin Mook wasn't indicted as he committed s*icide, which made the redevelopment project go on. So even in an alternate storyline, Gi Hwan and Chang Jin would have become the bad guys. And to answer another question of why Ju Won was so adamant at finding the killer would be because of his strong sense of justice, also solving such serial m*rder case will make people give him more importance than just being the Commissioner's son. Dong Sik also committed a crime by removing the fingers to bring overflowing attention to the case just because he couldn't find the body. So he got punished for that justly. Overall, the drama was so simple yet so intriguing, I felt sad when it was ending... I hope that we can see more drama like this instead of excessive plot twists that don't lead anywhere.

itha Apr 15 2021 1:03 am The only drama that has No Plot Holes. I love how the writer told every story in detail. There is no question left unanswered, everything is neatly written. The leading casts may be flawed but it's what making this drama sounds more realistic. The character developments of the leads didn't seem in rush, their character developed slowly but surely.

irene Apr 14 2021 5:24 pm it was pretty boring ngl. it was good up until ep. 8 and it wall went downhill then. there were several plots to this which made it confusing and not all the questions were answered. the leading casts were both annoying and ignorant. and i still don't understand what the victims has got to do with Han Ju Won and why he wanted to catch the criminal so bad that he blamed Lee Dong Sik most of the time. overall: 3/10 maybe if i watched it as my on goings i wouldn't be as bored.. i only stayed to see more of nam yoon su (Oh Ji-hoon). i'd definitely wouldn't recommend it :/

Beyond Evil deserves all the awards!!! Apr 14 2021 7:14 am SF, are you asking about the Korean-Chinese immigrant they introduced in the first few episodes? Kang Jinmook killed her. In the flashback scenes where they showed his MO, you can see that she was sitting with him in some sort of truck (?) and she received a text or something, so he grabbed her phone and got angry then killed her (for the whole prostitute reason related to his ex-wife). She was working as a prostitute and that's how he met her (since she knew Hyemi and he was looking for Hyemi, his ex-wife).

sf Apr 13 2021 11:18 am I rewatched this drama because there were things that I didn't understand because the sequences are revealed in an aleatory way, not in a chronological. With the risk that I may attract negative comments after this, I must say DS was the worst cop ever. Neither always his watery eyes nor his sympathy for weak people can erase the stupidity for doing nothing when he should have done. I have zero compassion for him. Overall, it was a good drama but with an awful character for my taste, DS.

Love the brilliant acting by all the actors (especially the Manyang squad). Love the OSTs, they are masterpiece! Love the storyline and simple life lessons behind it, and everything else!

Gotta agree with some comments below. If you are interested in crime, mystery/thriller genre, give this drama a go. Would rate this 9.5 out of 10!

Never believe random haters/comments like sf, because this drama is god-tier in all aspects. Everyone did great, including Choi Sung Eun and most especially Shin Ha Kyun- he deserves the Daesang. I only watched this because of Yeo Jin Goo but what a treat this was. I discovered new actors, learned lessons with the script and was completely amazed by the brilliance of PD Sim Na Yeon. I loved her previous work At Eighteen, her execution of scenes with Beyond Evil is an eye candy for film students/enthusiasts.

Choi Dae Hoon was also a revelation, I've seen him in multiple dramas as an annoying side character. In BE, he was given the chance to shine. The man can act.

I hope they all win awards. Thank you for bringing this drama to life.

I found it very annoying when he keeps following his hunch. If he put more effort in finding the clues and the real killer rather than keep provoking and blaming Dongsik, he might be able to find the killer sooner. And what's up with the Mayor Do keep babying her adult son? aigo..

swara Apr 06 2021 11:13 pm Yeo Jin Goo is such a phenomenal actor at his age. That scene at the end of Ep 14 sent shivers down my spine. The way he can control his facial muscles to express Han Ju Won's anguish, it's crazy. Shin Ha Kyun is such a powerful actor too, and it's such a god-tier casting to put both these actors together. Yeo Jin Goo may be very young but his acting doesn't get overshadowed by Shin Ha Kyun. I am so excited for the final week!

janhr Apr 04 2021 10:16 pm the supporting cast is very good, especially the bad guys, outshining the main leads. shin ha kyun's permanent bloodshot eye is too much, and yeo jin goo should stick to playing a role more suited to his disposition, like a highschooler for instance.

DramaFan Apr 01 2021 11:35 pm I'm a fan of psychological thrillers and I really like how the story is being shown so far. I don't know yet how the ending will go, but I can say that the writer and the director did a great job with this drama. The acting of the cast also was superb.

This drama is a psychological thriller and not just a police procedural drama. Usually this kind of drama explores moral conflict not only of the villain but also the main leads. The main leads does not necessarily have to be the good guy. In the end, they can actually be the main villain.

From a Soompi article: “Beyond Evil” is a psychological thriller starring Yeo Jin Goo and Shin Ha Kyun as two men who are willing to break the rules and the law in their pursuit of a serial killer. The drama asks, “Who is the monster? Is it you? Is it me? Is it us?”

If you are disappointed that the main leads are not your usual morally upright hero who just wants to catch the bad guy and fight for justice, then this drama is definitely not for you. Basing on the synopsis of the drama, the director and the writer intentionally made the main leads to be morally grey. Actually all the characters are morally grey. There's definitely a serial killer, JinMook, and might be another one. Some of the characters might not be necessarily be the serial killer, but each one of them could be "monsters" because their action or inaction caused them to contribute to the crime to not be solved.

I realized that the people in Manyang does not necessarily blindly trust each other because they are from the same town. Each one of them has a secret that they don't want other to discover that's why they don't probe each other that much. They only start to question other people and volunteer information, once their own secret has been discovered. They'd rather keep quiet if it means that they won't be implicated.

Nam sang bae hid report issue for 21 years. He kept it secret for no reason and it took his life. Ppl here act unnecessarily secretive over small things for no reason and then those secrets took their lives.

Also dongshik once tells hjw he wants to protect pjj,hwang gwang,cho go gil,jihwa, and a whole list of tribe. I feel embarrassed for his character now that out of these two actually f'ed him up (pjj and cho go gil) and a third one hid stuff i.e. nam sang bae. Sighs professionalism!

Lee chang jin brings escorts from busan and kills and buries them in manyang. Could be that those murdered girls were used to supply sexual favors to powerful, Yoo jae yi knows the busan connection, just random guessing.

And the acting oh my God they are so good shin ha kyun specially, the crime is connected to the bigger fish in the sea and it so beautifully dark , can't wait to the next ep , also the writer is crazy on the partnership style like? I thought han juwon would accept dong shik as a partner and that would be the big of their relationship but no the writer wants him to go against his father and drag everyone down for him and my heart just can't take this it's too much .

Her autopsy shows she was ran over multiple times which result in multiple fractures, the first hit was when she was standing, that first hit killed her, park Jung-je ran over her again when she was on the ground. I think dong-sik realizes that he probably didn't kill her when park Jung-je confesses that "I killed her, I ran over yu-yeon when she was passed out on the street". Then who was the one ran over her when she was standing facing the car? for that reason dong-sik lets park Jung-je go, he needs to find out the one ran over his sister and left her on the road like that. This drama is very good.

He must have killed Dong Sik's sis accidentally.. not sure if he's drunk or on drugs.. that is why he was sent to the mental institution because he was full of guilt.. he even keeps sketching Deers.. not sure if he just keep seeing deers instead of a person that is why he keep killing them lol

Not to mention, the expression on her face is most of the time so irritating, with a hint of arrogance and preciousness. So annoying.

They are not shown to be “ideal” or “perfect”, they are shown to be broken and vulnerable with much room for developments, they are shown to be “human”; which I think a lot of dramas lack (but also noticed how recent dramas are trying to incorporate this). The writer and director are very effective in showing multidimensional characters and that adds so much more depth to the story. Also, the way this drama portrays their “humanity” sets them apart and takes them a notch above other series with similar premises.

sf Mar 24 2021 2:49 am I see that many viewers here do not like JW. I do like him. He is the only one who can think straight, without being influenced by friendship relations with anybody. Many time working alone, he found important points for his investigation. Many times he was the first one who investigated something and only after that, appeared in the same place DS too. I see that nobody cares that he is young and has less experience than DS, but he manages to discover different hidden things about someone or something which lead him to learn other things. Someone said here that he has rushed without thinking to where the butcher girl was but without count the fact that JW didn't have the information that DS had. So, in this case, why blame JW? Anyway, in this drama, my favourite character is JW. About DS, is or because of the character or because of the actor's playing style or both, but I have a feeling of rejection for him. For the first time since the beginning of the drama, I heard DS named JW as his partner. Big surprise.

I can actually see a bit of HJW in you, with your righteous and know-it-all tone, you think you're so right even though you're not seeing the bigger picture.

First of all, I wasn't defending DS, even I didn't like how he never told anyone about anything but that's understandable because he was suspicious of everyone with the whole "possible accomplice" and "not wanting other people to be involved" and maybe "if other people knew, things would backfire". I wasn't even trying to defend that he didn't wanna get caught (because it was so obvious in the drama that he couldn't care less), I just wanted you to see the different Possible Perspectives as to why the scene went that way (not for DS but for what the writer might want the viewers to think/what the viewers themselves would think without caring about the writer) - with DS failing to "preserve the crime scene" which was the whole point of your dissatisfaction.

It's funny because the way you explained DS's actions as to what the writer was trying to show people of how "careless actions can cause an innocent's death" is actually a product of genius writing and directing...and you just don't want to admit that, the very point of this drama is showing how limited and vulnerable we humans are when faced with incredulous situations; this is not solely a "crime" drama, it's a "psychological thriller", the "careless actions resulting to a person's death" fits this drama more than "perfectly solving the crime" which is unrealistic if you ask me unless you can read minds or talk to the dead victims.

Indeed, JM didn't expect anyone to come which was why the fingers were still in the basement but a sheet of plastic was used to cover up the table and possibly floor before he chopped MJ's fingers and I think that same plastic was the same one used to wrap MJ's body before placing her underground...I don't think JM would be any more careless since the whole possibility of searching his house after a few days if people would discover that MJ went missing is pretty high. Also, didn't you remember how the judge believed DS's previous partners ongoing case that the victim had a "nosebleed" in the suspect's car? How much more having an accident in your own basement?

DS did what he did because "he" believes JM couldn't be indicated with just how everything was unfolding, JM could easily claim it was not him who did that: "how could I to my own daughter?" and act all mentally incapable of doing so and all.

I'm pointing out Possible Scenarios that could be used to explain the situation regarding DS's actions....I'm sorry if it came out as "rude" because of how I used capslock but those were just logically possible reasons which I wanted to point out and highlight, not to defend DS and his actions but for those claiming that what he did made no sense because Given The Situation he was in, his actions Did make sense. I'm not saying his actions were right, but his actions were reasonable Given The Situation, His Previous Experiences, and the State Of Mind he was in...all the more his actions made sense because he didn't care if he was caught breaking the law, just as long as the real culprit will go down with him.

Again, I'm not attacking you for disliking DS's character, why would I even care about who you like or not like? I'm commenting because as someone who also wants to be sensible in watching dramas (and not just be blinded by emotions about liking the actor or shallow melodramatic plot that touches the heart), I wanted to defend how the writer decided with the direction of the plot because it fits the whole premise of their goal/story and I think you missed that. That's why I wanted to point these all out for you to see that maybe you are wearing the wrong lens when watching this drama.

I don't want such a minor thing to affect other viewers' opinion of the drama because this drama, again, is a masterpiece...and although I'm not stopping you with your critiques, because again that means you're taking the drama seriously (which is good), but I won't stand by when it would seem like a misinterpretation or misunderstanding.

I actually enjoy discussions, not arguments. It would be great if we can continue dissecting the drama because this drama is worth that effort, but I think we got off on the wrong foot. Have a great day.

The reasoning that "dongshik didnt report the murder cause that would implicate him"---sighs!! , do people writing that even know that this reason itself flies in the face of the reason dongshik "Did Not" report it. Dongshik didnt report it cause when he dials 112 the voice in head says "in korea no murder can be proved unless body was found", which meant if he could have found the body dead or alive he would have reported it. Then he poorly searches through home, doesnt find the body, thinks body is dumped somewhere far, quickly gives up search, thinks about illegally acquired evidence stuff and picks fingers and leaves. So dongshiks own issue was never about himself getting implicated AT ALL. And with dongshiks own thought process shown to be visibly opposite ,it sounds like a joke when someone says dongshik would be held for murder if she was found dead , lmao. Are you for real.

The drama writer himself is not defending ds by constantly reminding him through hjw that his inaction caused the death. People are defending that action which even writer isnt. Writer could have shown that minjung was dead right through strangling but they showed otherwise, which was brutally painful for viewers that an innocent person died due to dongshik idiocy because ;unless the writer is a sadist, to tell viewers such actions could cause innocents' death. Dont play with law and try to take matters in your hands. This act of ds made me start to dislike his character and thats any viewers choice to like a character or not.

Tho with such rude posts i dont want to waste time explaining stuff in detail and i wont even but to say he would be arrested for murder just cause he reported, sighs , wake up this is 2020 we are talking about where forensic science talks, not random police guesses. When ds was arrested for minjjng bloodstain, even nam sang bae says this isn't 80s 90s where these things can be taken as solid evidence.

The crime scene was not cleaned up beause jinmook didnt expect any outsider, reporting him without damaging the murder scene would have easily gotten him caught. This is why preservation of crime scene is first and foremost thing. Dong shik thought dead body cant be found. Murder happens in less than an hour ago duration that he knows too, being an officer he could have easily guessed body hasnt been moved farther away, employing police hound dogs is the most easy method. In case he took body in car, cctv cameras in the town or local residents intel can be used to find out to what place car drove up to and take out dead body. Dongshiks character was supersmart and super instinctive that even a burp by a random guy makes him guess he murdered someone or is linked( case in point, when han ju won steps back seeing lee gum hwa remains , ds knows instantly hjw knows her) and knew law to core but him missing on such basic protocols makes him look like an incompetent cop.

Minjung dying due to ds is writers choice and makes me dislike ds and i can no longer sympathize with him. Ds acting the way he did for reasons writer showed is poor writing. Plus its highly criminal to move a victims fingers like this.

Also btw for those who assume ds reporting it would backfire must remember police wasnt even able to do much against even jin mook as despite all evidence they couldnt get him to confess. Jin mook could have even gotten away with minjungs murder and be only implicated as an accomplice in murder by claiming he didnt kill, no witness saw him killing her or direct evidence of him killing her as crime scene was damaged and he just disposed off the body.

I think episode 7 has been explained. When Dongshik wanted to call 112, he remembered his colleague saying "I don't care if it's illegal ... I'll do anything. But if it fails, I'll kill him myself".

You should know that it's not just beyond evil dramas where the police like to legalize evidence. Take a look at the drama Mouse, Detective Moochi also did the same thing to catch the culprit. So there is no need to judge this drama as a defect just because of Dongshik's behavior who has messed up the scene of the crime.

and I agree with what @heyena said when Dongshik reported the murder at that time, the suspected perpetrator was none other than Dongshik. he had no alibi, no witnesses and all his associates were at the butcher shop. and possibly strong evidence that he was accused of being the murderer because he was the perpetrator of the murder of his younger sister Yu Yeon. then who will believe the reason? Will Jinmook admit that he killed his son? definitely not.

Why? because jinmook and dongshik came home together when they came back from the butcher shop. that means Minjung's fingers are not in front of Jinmook's house yet. other evidence is also. Minjung's blood was found in the basement of Dongsik's house, meaning that Dongsik brought Minjung's fingers to his house after he came from Jinmook's house. and it is the blood droplets from the fingertips.

and I think Dongsik is very smart. he can control himself and not act reckless like Juwon. Do you remember when Jae Yi called Dongsik that he found his mother's body in the grass. there Juwon wants to go to Jaeyi's place immediately. but was blocked by Dongsik. who said they had to go to Jinmook's house. But Dongsik finds out that Jinmook set a trap for the police so he can move Minjung's body out of his house.

that's why I really like this drama. This drama looks really neat. all incidents related to cases and people in Manyang.

to @sensible viewer try to re-watch this drama. many of your reviews that you think don't make sense in this drama but are explained in it. because I also always repeat this drama to make it understandable. the more I look back at episode 1, the more realistic Dongsik's true attitude will be.

1.) The main reason why someone in connection to a victim shouldn’t be involved in the investigation would be their inability to remain objective in that situation. You see the fingers of your “niece” on their basement, the same way the fingers of your missing sister were displayed, would you be able to think straight? I actually commend Dong Sik for being able to stop himself from calling for emergency although that was the most logical thing to do...why? Because he would be the main culprit if he did so. Why was he inside their house? What was his alibi? He would be the only suspicious person because He Was The Only One There and He Even “Trespassed”. All the other notable characters were Having Dinner Together, how could you convince the police that it wasn’t you?

2.) Yeah, they could send police dogs to sniff out the body (though KMJ scent would be all over the place) but then again How Could He Prove That It Was Not Him Who Placed The Body There? When He Was The One Who Found The Fingers, The One With No Alibi, The One Who Trespassed The House Of The Dead Person. As he said, there should be no “double jeopardy” if Jin Mook would be made innocent because evidence would point to Dong Sik himself, what would be the point?

3.) Of course Jin Mook was shaken up when he found out that the fingers were missing, he kept going to police stations and kept on checking and observing the people in town. Dong Sik placed it there at the dead of night NOT before Jin Mook could come back from the butcher shop and see it outside lol that would defeat the purpose of exposing the fingers for it to become an Actual Case...if Jin Mook acted more suspiciously after that, it wouldn’t be believable how he was able to get away with murdering more than 4 women as if it didn’t affect him at all.

I don’t see how any of these is because of “poor” writing. I dare say the writer is a Genius. He/she knows the possible psychological state of Dong Sik’s character and acted upon that knowledge. You need to have a more open mind when watching a Psychological Thriller. It’s good to be sensible when watching movies tho bcs that means you’re taking this drama srsly, I also am a sensible viewer that’s why I can confidently say that this drama is A Masterpiece.

To all those commenting that @sensible viewer should not look too deep into the legal system I totally think they should? Even kdrama writers try to make the legal aspects of crime dramas flow and make sense, so there should be no issue with pointing out obvious fallacies.. Maybe it's not even that, it could be that DS gets charged for his crimes later on like they've alluded to many times with him asking Ju Won to arrest him.

This is a solid drama tho I hope they fill in the gaps later on. If anyone wants to watch it please do it's so interesting and honestly the murderer was no obvious at all

This person probably has access to the police records and CCTV.. sooo..

Tim Mar 20 2021 10:42 pm wow, I really don't like Han joo-won character at all, he is very egotistic and self center, like a kid who got his candy taken away and throwing a tantrum. he think he is so smart and no-one is smart enough to be his partner so he rather be alone but in fact he's just young and inexperience as a detective. he confessed that he carried out a sting operation while using the immigrant lady as a bait and resulted in her dead and he asked to be punished, but in episode 10 he just repeating the same mistake (2nd sting operation) again by using chef Nam as bait and he ending up dead as well, HJW just never learn his lesson. Dong-sik on the other hand seems ignorance but very caring, he wants to be alone because of the incident with his pervious partner, he couldn't protect his partner and the young detective died, that leave a scar so he is afraid if he gets another partner he won't be able to protect his partner. Dong-sik is smart and he investigates differently, he sure knows how to use his brain. Finding min-lung's fingers is probably just luck and he is happened to be there at the right place and the right time, but what he did after that was carefully plan. looks like there are 2 killers, one is jin-mook who kill thither girls and one is an unknown killer who killed the sister, there are a few people who know the person including chef Nam and jin-mook, this unknown killer killed the sister and cut her finger tips so he is a copycat, but jin-mook is the one hid her in the wall. Killers don't point fingers at each other since both will get arrested. copycat killer probably is someone in the police force or having a connection to be able to get that death certificate to give it to give it to jin-mook. her death probably related to the development of the town. things are getting complicated, but I do like the development, so will continue watching. Mouse is a good drama too.

But my point here is completely irrelevalent of the fact who the killer is. One cant contaminate crime scene like this, no matter how much mentally injured etc he is. Its very poor writing. Anyone could be a killer but damaging a murder scene and not looking for dead body is highly unprofessional and for such act he should be prosecuted thoroughly. Hes shown to be equally responsible for her death.

As of actual killer it could be that dong shik has multiple personalities, he kills and forgets , and jin mook protects as his gratitude to ds parents or it could be someone else but nothing changes DS's criminal acts. And hes a creep for even moving a presumed dead persons fingers.

In episode 7 it was shown that Dongshik wanted to call 112 to report the murder, but he could not find Minjung's body, it was because the case could not be called murder if the body was not there. and in my opinion, the reason Dongshik put Minjung's fingers in front of his house was because he wanted to see Jinmook's expression. and at the end of episode 8 Dongshik also knew that he was guilty of covering up the case, he even asked Juwon to arrest him, but after he found his sister's body .. we must know that there are still many episodes that haven't come out yet. we can't speculate on our own when we haven't seen the upcoming episode yet. there are still many secrets that have not been revealed. so let's just watch.

In ep 8 i flipped my mind i so wanted to shoot dongshik when i found out she was alive when he was making constipated expressions at manyang butchery dinner while hiding what he has seen. No amount of distrust in justice system justifies what ds did in damaging crime scene and moving fingers , not reporting and showing off his bloodshot eyes. By these acts of him alone he seems equal to the murderer to me. Also then imagine he not only didnt call police he didnt even search her properly. Legally speaking he should be fired and arrested and tried in court for being partly responsible in girl's death for not reporting on time. And i am surprised why no character specially han ju won are not kicking him for that. To me kmj was murdered by both jin mook and dong shik.

I was very shocked and started to hate the character, along with the episodes many of his behavior made me dizzy, and it made me confused about the character. what he wants. but when Jinmook got suspicious I started liking DOngshik again. I feel sorry to see him. he desperately wanted to find his sister's body

So I really love his character, I dont get easily fond of aged actor but Shin Ha kyun ajjushi did really good job!!! Honestly, I like his face when he go nut cause he filled it up with emotion lol. It means he potrayed dongsik very well. For Joo woon, I love him too even many of people said that his way for cathcing the criminal is bad/not pro, I think it's his own way to work thats why he also involved in success finding the killer. Im not telling ppl to agree with my thinking about him, but he has his own cool way tho. (Dont hate me lol). Time by time Dong sik change Joowoon perception and thats what make them good partner.

It could be that the truth is Jin mook really not the one who killed dongsik's sister but somebody who is near dongsik and keep watching him. All characters is connected by each other even I don't like the story of political and development idea but still I love this one. Its sad to see kang min jung died by suffocating (i just short it easy lol), I feel the chill when a person get confined in a plastic and alive ughh its so teribble. But then that's what keeping this drama great to look forward tho.

At this point, there are a lot of mysteries that are not yet been answered. I really hope that this drama doesn't disappoint throughout the episodes because it's getting interesting.

Arrogant, individualist, sarcastic, secretive, uncooperative and dictatorial with his new partner trying to block or minimized every action and effort of his. He is the quintessence of that terrible police station's workers. One more stupid and inefficient than others. However, the writer is trying to transform him into a victim when the best move would be to give him a kick in the ass. The only one who is trying to move something in that lethargic police station is Han Joo-Won. How can we expect these policemen to solve any case when they are siblings or friends with a lot of people from that town or regular customers of a store? Automatically they are tempted to eliminate all these people from the circle of suspects. Only because of luck, not because they were clever, one of the criminals was discovered.

Honestly ju won character is written poorly, he shows disorganzied and messy investigative skills without following proper steps, a police academy graduate never acts this way , he cant even succeed in career this way unless dad pulls strings. But im liking it so far unless story goes really dumb and bad.

WNDR Mar 12 2021 9:30 am So, I'm not sure if anyone else also thinks this, but there's got to be a connection between Han Joo-Won and Lee Joo-Yeon (Dong Sik's sister) because he's just way too interested and devoted to this case. Also, he specifically asked to transferred to that police station.

He's too emotional about the whole case and it just feels like he's in such a hurry to find the killer to expel his own anger and grief onto someone.

2) the messenger guy of police chief dad, whats his job? Is he in police ir prosecutor? Also why he calls han ju won dad as father? Where is his own father,also is he officislly adopted by jwon dad? Cause each time he gloats over juwons blunders as if he will get juwons dads inheritance or something is beyond me. Like why is always happy on juwons blunders? How it benefits him?

3) how juwon knew exact words said by dongshik to je jeong mom even thi he was in car. He knew every single word. How so?

Now about drama in general, is there anyone who is normal in this town? Jeong je has psycho issues and how come with mental issues he even got a job in police. Oh ji hoon also has psycho issues of holing up in room etc. Is this town specially dedicated to inhabit people with variety of mental issues?

If kang jimook is a killer it would be pathetic that they never managed to capture a simple guy so close to them. Plus even if hes a killer hes a charmless character that it wouldnt be worthy of having a 16 ep drama dedicated to such killer who cud easily be caught.

Dong shik knows hes the killer but he doesnt name him cause he keeps repeating the law "no body found no murder proved". Despite that he cant find jimooks modus operandis beyond me.

Han juwons investigation skills are shytt and honestly he doesnt even act like police officer. He keeps accusing ds of murders without proof and then expect he will confess.... like you do it once, twice not like daily you do this thing. Very very poor investigation skills shown here. Hes more like a low iq (as in about an iq of 45-46) over passionate rookie cop. Lastly, shin ha kyun is amazing that lunatics eyes he shows. Never like jin gu before but even hes doing good but his character is rubbish.

Most of the casts do not have a lot of experiences but they are all good. Nice choice there. The one acting as Kang Jin Mook, this is his first kdrama as written in his profile but he's good at portraying his character. The others too. I got goosebumps when Nam Yoon Soo's tone and facial expressions suddenly change while he was talking to Jin Goo when he was washing his car.

As for Yeo Jin Goo, I think his acting not as good as when he was jn Hwayi. I don't know why. But I still have high hopes for the next episodes. As for Shin Ha Kyun, I dislike his acting in Fix You, but I think his acting is much better here. There are some awkward acting, but the emotions and character understanding are pretty good. I expect him to show more in the next eps too. He's so manly... And he suits the character so much

Even the flashback of Dong Sik was suspected 20 years ago doesnt give me any clues. Idk whether tonite's episode will be better or their conversation only goes around in circles.

Yeo jin gu i at times just end thinking i am hearing the voice of do u like brahms male lead. So far intriguing. Tho im kinda tired of same red ribbon kind of serial killing plotlines from signal to tunnel to some other dramas too. Its about time koreans either overcome trauma of actual women serial killings from 80s or just fully expose the killer if he was guarded by authorities back then and some ppl in media are aware hence make dramas on it.

Hence , i used to research Korean dramas after seeing that talented actor. I have something to do ahead , thanks to him i got to know that there are many talented actors in Korea in different fields. Hope one day I could meet him in person , as well as I think this drama will be a high - rated one . Good luck!
