16 year old Kotoha Tagami (Kanna Hashimoto) dropped out of school and has had rough days as a troubled kid, but she experiences a turning point in her life. She has a motorbike accident with her friend and is on the brink of death. She is fortunate to recover. Her doctor, Keisuke Nakata, tells her to contemplate how she will spend the life that has been saved. She decides to become a doctor.
Kotoha Tagami studies very hard and becomes a neurosurgeon. At Keisuke Nakata's recommendation, she begins to work at a hospital in Tokyo. But, what awaits for her is a profit-first management, strict bureaucratic structure, and workplace where filling paperwork comes before patients.
