Plot
At the zenith of student activism, Masayuki Nashida happens to meet Kazunari Nagata. He is Masayuki's senior student in university, unique in that that he failed the university entrance exams four times and repeated a school year twice, with a rumor that he's a great mahjong player. Becoming curious about his nihilistic and disruptive demeanor, Masayuki tries to connect with him. There, he encounters the world of Mahjong gambling, which is more stimulating than anything he's experienced before. Masayuki rapidly becomes addicted to it while meeting a girl named Teko, who works at a café, and falling in love with her. Going deeply into gambling and love, Masayuki comes to live only to savor brief moments of delirious joy. What awaits one who submits himself to gambling and pleasure without finding a value in his life?
