Plot

"Spotlight" focuses on the gritty and enterprising lives of city desk broadcast news reporters. The drama tracks Woo-jin Seo's (Son Ye-Jin) rise to fame, from her struggles at the city desk to her eventual success as an anchorwoman.

Jillibean Nov 29 2024 2:48 am I remember watching this on the old DF back in the day and enjoying the gentle chemistry of the main leads together. The script wasn't very flashy, but it looked like you were watching normal people in the broadcasting profession going on about their days in relatable ways, dealing with the typical stresses faced by news reporters and anchor people. For me it's fun to go back in time to a beloved actor's early works and watch their progression in the acting profession. That applies here most definitely to my favorite actress in all the world today, Ye Jin Son.

Park Min Oct 16 2022 3:16 pm Great performance by Son Ye Jin and Ji Jin Hee, especially Ye Jin who showed visible character development from start to end by her acting. While the remainder of the cast were average at best. Jo Yoon Hee and Jin Goo barely have any screen time or meaningful contribution why are they listed as main characters in the first place? The story was average and even below average at times, the cases they dealt with didn't have a dramatic impact, they all felt too casual even the last "big" case. The writing/script doesn't have a good flow, for example some events/plot elements were neglected for too long before coming back to them, also too many filler characters that don't fill a good character spot considering the theme of the drama. The ending was underwhelming, they had a 4 episodes build up and what we got at the end just two guys on live news backstabbing each other. Watch it for Ye Jin!
