Jeong-eun is in her third year of searching for a job at her friend Hae-ryeon’s school library using Hae-ryeon’s student ID. Kyeong-min is a law student at the same school who is fond of girls, he likes Hae-ryeon unrequitedly. One day, Kyeong-min wakes up Jeong-eun who is sleeping at his spot in the library and Jeong-eun moves away apologizing. Kyeong-min notices that his folder has disappeared and behaves rudely toward Jeong-eun. When Kyeong-min finds out that his friend borrowed his folder, he apologizes to Jeong-eun but she refuses to accept it. Kyeong-min finds out that Hae-ryeon and Jeong-eun are friends, and tries hard to get close to Jeong-eun by doing kind deeds such as catching Jeong-eun’s brother who ran away from home and lending him money.

Kyeong-min confesses to Hae-ryeon that he likes her but he gets rejected. Although Jeong-eun packs an extra lunch box to give to Kyeong-min, she hears that he went to see Hae-ryeon and gives the lunch to a strange man named Dong-joon. Kyeong-min gets chased due to the debt he has made and starts living with Jeong-eun in her rooftop apartment. Kyeong-min gives the necklace he has bought with the money he took away from Jeong-eun to Hae-ryeon and Hae-ryeon in turn gives the necklace to Jeong-eun. Jeong-eun gets mad and kicks out Kyeong-min but makes up with him again. She gets a phone call from her mother who overhears Kyeong-min’s voice.

Kyeong-min promises to hold a party on Jeong-eun’s birthday. Jeong-eun goes to an interview and meets Dong-joon, to whom she once sold the lunch box, at Plus Ad. She gets humiliated due to her poor English skills. Hae-ryeon invites Kyeong-min to her father’s publication party and Kyong-min uses Jeong-eun’s emergency money to buy shoes for the party. Hae-ryeon kisses Kyeong-min for Dong-joon to see and Kyeong-min comes out of the party. Jeong-eun gets angry when she sees the house in a mess but calms down when Kyeong-min throws a party for her later and tells her about his mother. Kyeong-min, under the influence of alcohol, tells Jeong-eun that she is pretty and kisses her. The next day they find out that they have slept together and he gets kicked out of the house. Kyeong-min is chased by the private money lenders at school. Jeong-eun appears to rescue Kyeong-min and he is able to return to the roof top apartment. While she is hanging up the laundry with Kyeong-min, she receives a phone call from Plus Ad saying that she can come to work.

Jeong-eun who goes to Plus Ad and shows off to the new employees is disappointed by the fact that she is just a part-time worker and quits. However, she changes her mind to repay Kyeong-min’s debt. Hae-ryeon who hears Kyeong-min’s outstanding presentation during class, seduces him.
eps. 5
While Jeong-eun is at her parent’s home, Kyeong-min buys tickets for the musical by selling his watch. He is waiting for Hae-ryeon when she stands him up by lying to him when she hears that Dong-joon is coming to her house. Kyeong-min gets sick while sleeping outside after getting drunk and he cries out Hae-ryeon’s name in his sleep. The next day, Jeong-eun drags Hae-ryeon to the roof top and a fight occurs. Hae-ryeon, who finds out about the two living together, tells Kyeong-min’s grandmother Kyeong-min’s address. Through his grandmother who comes to the roof top, Jeong-eun finds out that Kyeong-min has a gambling debt and makes Kyeong-min study hard. Dong-joon orders Jeong-eun to meet up with the advertisement company and Jeong-eun returns humiliated. Dong-joon gives angry Jeong-eun a book about advertising so she can study.

Dong-joon and Jeong-eun dine together and although Jeong-eun asks Dong-joon if he’s interested in her; he says no. Kyeong-min keeps his distance from Dong-joon. While Dong-joon and Jeong-eun are looking at the art work at the gallery, they meet Hae-ryeon and her mother. Jeong-eun has a fight with Hae-ryeon in the restroom, and she lands in the toilet. Hae-ryeon’s mother, who intervenes in the middle of the night, slaps Jeong-eun’s cheeks, and Dong-joon covers up Jeong-eun’s hips with his jacket. Hae-ryeon calls out Kyeong-min and pretends to like him. They go to the beach to make a vow and they spend a night out. Jeong-woo comes to the roof top while Jeong-eun is at work and he sees Kyeong-min.

Although the truth about Jeong-eun and Kyeong-min living together is revealed due to Jeong-woo who came to the roof top, Jeong-woo promises to keep the secret if given some hush money. The washing machine Kyeong-min ordered arrives while Jeong-eun is at home with Jeong-woo and Kyeong-min also heads toward Jeong-eun’s parent’s house. He is about to miss Jeong-eun who goes on the train to Seoul, but in the end they come back together. Dong-joon, who is waiting in front of the roof top house, goes to dinner with Jeong-eun leaving Kyeong-min behind. Dong-joon and Jeong-eun go to a party together held by the Australian Embassy, and Kyeong-min is jealous. Jeong-eun finds out that Kyeong-min used her phone number to pay for a porn website and tries to shave off his hair…

Kyeong-min and Jeong-eun make an appointment to go see a movie together but he lies to Jeong-eun when Hae-ryeon calls to go see her. However, Kyeong-min who finds out that Hae-ryeon still has Dong-joon in her mind returns to go see Jeong-eun, who is watching a movie with Dong-joon. Jeong-eun goes out to an arranged marriage meeting after receiving a call from home.

Jeong-eun tells her mom that she doesn’t like the man she met at the arranged meeting and Jeong-woo mistakenly reveals the fact that she lives with someone. Jeong-eun’s mother who comes to the roof top finds Kyeong-min’s underwear in the washing machine. However, she is slightly relieved by the fact that Kyeong-min’s rich and that he is a law student. Kyeong-min makes a wire ring to console Jeong-eun. Although the two are on good terms again, Jeong-eun who sees Hae-ryeon at the roof top kicks out Kyeong-min. Jeong-eun misses Kyeong-min after he leaves and she hears his voice outside the door.

Kyeong-min returns home and they make up with each other. Dong-joon asks Jeong-eun to work late and Kyeong-min comes to her work and cunningly pushes Dong-joon out the door. Hae-ryeon gives Kyeong-min expensive clothes as a gift and Jeong-eun is not able to give him the cheap T-shirt she bought for him. Jeong-eun is making chicken soup for Kyeong-min when his grandmother storms in and finds out that the two of them are living together. Jeong-eun’s mother and Jeong-woo go to Kyeong-min to make him sign a document saying that he will agree within a year after his exam is over. Kyeong-min who was running away meets his grandmother and Jeong-eun’s mother and Kyeong-min’s grandmother have a quarrel about the document.

Although the document hasn’t been signed, Jeong-woo continues to threaten Kyeong-min and actually goes to visit Kyeong-min’s gradfather. However, his grandfather says that Kyeong-min isn’t his grandchild and that Kyeong-min should end the relationship if he intends not to get married. Jeong-eun confesses the truth to Dong-joon and receives consultation. Jeong-eun seduces Kyeong-min but feels awkward. Jeong-eun gives Kyeong-min a ring of friendship and Hae-ryeon sees it. Hae-ryeon goes to Jeong-eun to give back the ring.

Jeong-eun has a fight with Kyeong-min because of the ring and decides to leave the house. Jeong-eun agrees to Dong-joon’s invitation to his birthday party and gets drunk. Kyeong-min carries Jeong-eun back to the roof top apartment, but Jeong-eun throws up. Kyeong-min undresses Jeong-eun and the next day she mistakenly thinks that they slept together. She finds out the truth and they are both on good terms again. Kyeong-min who is drunk signs a document and Jeong-eun’s mother comes to Kyeong-min’s school to warn Hae-ryeon not to go near Kyeong-min anymore. She even sends a present to Kyeong-min’s house and his grandmother scolds Jeong-eun while Kyeong-min stays at her side.

Dong-joon gives a present to Jeong-eun’s father on his birthday and Jeong-eun secretly smuggles out the document. Dong-joon is waiting for her at the station and Hae-ryeon at the same time makes Kyeong-min return home. Jeong-eun comes back to the roof top apartment and starts a fight with Hae-ryeon. Kyeong-min pretends to go back home but comes back to the roof top. Jeong-eun, being mad and disappointed at Kyeong-min, goes out of the house. Jeong-eun calls Dong-joon to have a midnight snack and some drinks. Dong-joon kisses Jeong-eun on the way back to the roof top. Kyeong-min makes first place on the trial examination and when he tries to tell Jeong-eun she walks away with Dong-joon. Dong-joon proposes to Jeong-eun.
eps. 14
Jeong-eun returns the stuffed cat that she once received from Dong-joon and Hae-ryeon rushes in when Kyeong-min and Jeong-eun are eating. Hae-ryeon says that she would forgive her if Jeong eun tells her that there is nothing going on between the two and Kyeong-min being drunk asks Jeong-eun to do so. Jeong-eun unwillingly goes to see Hae-ryeon and Kyeong-min who becomes aware of this finally realizes that he actually likes
Jeong-eun. Dong-joon tells Keong-min that he loves Jeong-eun and that Kyeong-min should firmly make up his mind. Although Kyeong-min proposes to Jeong-eun, she being hurt ignores him and asks him to leave her. Through Kyeong-min’s continuous proposals, Jeong-eun eventually realizes the truth.

Jeong-eun’s father who becomes aware of the fact that Jeong-eun is living with Kyeong-min, storms into the roof top apartment and causes trouble. When her father asks Kyeong-min if they will get married Kyeong-min answers “no” and Jeong-eun gets locked up. Dong-joon goes to see Jeong-eun at her family home and she escapes with his help. Jeong-eun tells Kyeong-min that they should separate since he always runs away from trouble and Kyeong-min goes to see Jeong-eun drunk and begs for forgiveness down on his knees.

Kyeong-min eventually gets kicked out of the roof-top apartment and starts to gamble again. His grandfather goes to see Jeong-eun and asks her to take in Kyeong-min. Kyeong-min moves into the roof top again and Jeong-eun and Dong-joon become closer. Jeong-eun invites Dong-joon to her house and Kyeong-min pretends to be sick to bother the two. Right when Dong-joon and Dong-joon are about to kiss, Kyeong-min tries to punch Dong-joon.
eps. 17
Kyeong-min has a hard time expressing his affection for Jeong-eun, who pushes him away. Also, he mistakenly thinks that the markings on the calendar indicate that Jeong-eun is pregnant and after continuous pondering goes to see her father and to get his consent to marriage. The truth is revealed and Jeong-eun is pleased with Kyeong-min’s responsible behavior.
Kyeong-min gets hospitalized due to acute inflammation of the intestines and Jeong-eun is not able to be with Kyeong-min thinking that it’s another one of his lies. Jeong-eun is busy with work and Kyeong-min with his preparations for the up-coming exam. The time for Kyeong-min to propose to Jeong-eun approaches.
eps. 18
Kyeong-min plans to propose to Jeong-eun after his exam is over. Jeong-eun prepares a party for Kyeong-min, but she sees him kissing Hae-ryeon due to a conspiracy and she kicks Kyeong-min out of the house. Kyeong-min hides the fact that he has passed the exam from everyone. He comes out of the house saying that he will go on a trip but actually returns to Jeong-eun’s roof top house.
eps. 19
Jeong-eun doesn’t tell Dong-joon that Kyeong-min has come back to the roof top apartment and Dong-joon suddenly comes for a visit. Kyeong-min who was kicked out for a moment returns to the roof top apartment and Dong-joon becomes aware of the truth. Dong-joon finds out that Jeong-eun still likes Kyeong-min and Jeong-woo also informs his family of the fact that Kyeong-min has returned to the roof top apartment. Jeong-eun’s dad meets up with Jeong-eun, who hurts him by saying that she can’t live without Kyeong-min. Kyeong-min by chance sees the wire ring he once gave her and the friendship ring she gave to him in the drawer and realizes how much she has cherished the wire ring. Kyeong-min confesses that he has actually passed the exam, but Jeong-eun leaves the house angrily. Jeong-eun spends a night at Dong-joon’s studio and Kyeong-min goes to find her.
eps. 20
Kyeong-min comes storming into the studio and brings Jeong-eun out, but she decides to accept Dong-joon’s offer to go study abroad in England with him. Jeong-eun puts her apartment up for sale with the realtor and Kyeong-min goes to see Jeong-eun at the roof top apartment. He heads straight to the airport when he finds out that Jeong-eun is there but the two miss each other. After a few years, Jeong-eun comes back to Korea and she runs into Kyeong-min at the roof top apartment. Kyeong-min has been living at the same roof top place ever since Jeong-eun left and the two vow their love for each other with their couple rings.
