Troubled high school student Makoto arrives in Tokyo to exact revenge from a past incident. He then falls in love at first sight with Ai (Emi Takei), a daughter raised in a wholesome family. Around Makoto and Ai are Iwashimizu (Takumi Saito), who has feelings for Ai and Gamuko (Sakura Ando), a gang member who eyes Makoto.

Notes

Based on the manga "Ai to Makoto" by Ikki Kajiwara, published in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1973 to 1976.
Filming begins July 5, 2011 and finishes August, 2011.

Miike at best :) Honestly this movie is even much better than the recent 'Crows Explode' directed by Toshiaka Toyoda.i'm not saying Toyoda is a bad director since he had some of his great movies in the past but Crows Explode still isn't one of his best work.Though its okay movie.Its funny to know,Ai to Makoto (For Love's Sake) can even do better.This is easily one of my favourite movie from Takashi Miike in my Takashi Miike's collection along with - 13 Assassins, Audition, Crows 1 & 2, Lesson of the Evil, Over your Dead Body etc..

emme Oct 18 2012 6:42 am Actually, Makoto doesn't fall in love with Ai at all. He's "F*ck off and leave me in peace" and pretty much persists like that throughout the film - which is the whole point.

Anyhow, it's a fab film. Tsumabuki totally rocks it. (Saw it at the London International Film Festival.)
