Akito Nagakura (Ryunosuke Kamiki) is a high school student who is burdened with his mother Reiko's (Yasuko Matsuyuki) lofty expectations. Reiko works for a seafood processing company and is also deaf. Her disability has given her an inferiority complex and, consequently, pushed Akito to become a renown pianist.
One day, Akito meets Izumi who is happily playing the keyboard in public. Izumi is also a deaf person. His encounter with Izumi makes Akito doubt his ways and his mother's life. Akito then finally finds out about his mother's past ...
