Robert Beams Mar 31 2025 10:11 am Broke my heart when I heard that Aki had left NHK.I would like to know if Aki went to another news station? I tried to watch NHK news every morning. Seeing Akis' smiling face always cheered me up, and somehow, I had a better day. I would like to know if Aki went to another news station? Wherever Aki is, I wish her all the luck and happiness In the future, when Aki lays her head down to sleep at night, may she always sleep with the Angels.

My wife from the Philippiniies enjoy the NHK news and anchors. I notice the beauty of long hem lines and high neck lines. A pretty face keeps my interest in the news. We have traveled to Korea , Japan Philippines ,the people we met very pleasent happy and helpful. Thank you for being on tv in out home.

Steven Horst Oct 30 2020 6:52 am Hello Aki. I am new to your program and find it very well done by you and your team. I'm learning so much about Japan now and Pacific Asia. Information not available off U.S. based sources. You come on at 5am on PBS 2 here local. I hope in the near future write an American play in the Japanese NO tradition and have it performed here. After Covid-19 travel restrictions ease . Then perhaps some from Japan could attend as well as Japanese Americans from US who might find this worthy if I can do a good job and bring all the parts together eventually. I learn so much about news in the world that American news does not cover. Johnathon Oh forecasting the weather make a person feel like he would a great person to share a meal. He just has this pleasant feeling about him. The whole news team does a wonderful. But, Aiko Shibuya is an Angel!

Edward Swislocki Nov 05 2017 1:22 pm Currently work until 3 a.m. EST and set my alarm for 7 a.m. Monday through Friday to watch Newsroom Tokyo. More specifically to watch Aki Shibuya. I adore her even though I have never met her. I am very fond of Helena Humphrey, seen on DW news, Miss Shibuya is far and away my favorite human being. I am curious as to why NHK news does not utilize her more. It seems to obvious her talents would naturally lend themselves to a newscast where she would essentially be the news; perhaps video of the news she would be reporting inserted on the screen in a small portion of the screen while not removing her from the screen. An important part of the newscast would be when she stands up from the desk and reports the next segment while standing. I sincerely believe implementing this simple formula would lead naturally th the highest rated news program in the United States. It is important to know that here in the United States female news anchors must be married in order not to provide viewers with the impression of an unstable personal life and not simply a sex symbol; and I would now offer myself as the the adoring husband.
