Eps. 1
Kang-ho, an officer of the crimes and violence department, finds some minors in a secret room at a bar working as prostitutes. Jak-doo tells him that there aren’t any more but as he turns off the lights so the room goes dark Kang-ho sees lights shining from behind a wall. Because of Kang-ho’s actions the bar is on the verge of closing so Jak-doo and Pil-doo think of a plan to catch Kang-ho so he won’t be able to work in the department. Hye-rah, a public prosecutor, on her first day of work crashes into another car and her day continues with one problem after another. Because of this she is assigned a case without evidence or witnesses. Meanwhile, for no special reason Kang-ho gets assigned to the traffic department. He later finds out that it was because of a deal made between his chief and Pil-doo and boils with anger. Kang-ho goes to see Dong-goo who has just been released from prison.

Dong-goo, not having a place to go, ends up spending the night inside a telephone booth. Hye-rah is dumbfound when Kang-ho asks her to take care of Han-gyul when she is about to leave. Kang-ho goes to his chief and tells him that if he does not assign him back to the crime and violence department he is going to tell the whole department about his deal with Pil-doo. The chief tells him that there has been a report that a former officer of the crime and violence department, who has been moved to the traffic department, is running a bar with minor prostitutes and gives him a bit of pressure. Kang-doo, after seeing Pil-doo, boils with anger at finding out that there is no place for him anymore and Pil-doo’s underlings attack him. Dong-goo wakes up to see Kang-ho in his face and Kang-ho suggests that they catch Pil-doo.
Eps. 3
Hyung-suk tells Dong-goo that he will give him 20 million won if he becomes a liver donor and Dong-goo suddenly feels some hope and enthusiastically volunteers. Hyung-suk has found a liver donor for the bar association president’s wife, who has a liver problem and needs a transplant. At hearing this good news the president promises Hyung-suk that he can return to work as a lawyer. Dong-goo gives Kang-ho the money he got for being a donor, telling him that it is in exchange for the favor he did for him. Kang-ho asks him where he got the money but Dong-goo doesn’t tell him and leaves. On his way, however, he gets into a hit and run accident, making him unable to go to the hospital for the surgery, so the whole plan then goes down the tubes.

Hyung-suk and Dong-goo find out who the owner of the hit and run car is and they decide to split the money fifty-fifty. They go to the hotel where the person works only to find out that he’s left for the day. They then go to his house and wait for him. Meanwhile, Hye-rah tells Kang-ho about how she couldn’t arrest the person she really wanted to because she was too scared and Kang-ho comforts her.
Hyung-suk and Dong-goo start dreaming about what they are going to do when they get the indemnity. The next day, Hyung-suk wakes up surprised by Dong-goo’s phone call telling him that he has caught the hit and run criminal.
Eps. 5
Hyung-suk gets kicked out of the office and becomes angry at Dong-goo for settling the problem by himself. Dong-goo and Hyung-suk think that because Kang-ho caught the hit and run criminal everything went wrong so they go to his house but he isn’t home. After waiting for Kang-ho in front of Hye-rah’s house for some time they see him walking along the street and walk up to him but he silently walks into the house.
They all sit down and have a drink when Kang-ho asks Dong-goo and Hyung-suk if they know how hard it is to make a billion won. Dong-goo and Hyung-suk become silent at hearing how Kang-ho made enough money to leave the country. Then he screams out that he’s not going to live like that anymore.
Eps. 6
Kang-ho sees a picture with Hye-rah covering her face while meeting Assemblyman Kim Tae-jin. He starts to talk to her about the picture but she changes the subject. Kang-ho looks at some material about Pil-doo and he asks Hyung-suk to go to the restaurant run by an elderly lady and stay there while he does some other background investigations on him. Ye-rin overhears them and asks Hye-rah who Pil-doo is.
Kim Tae-jin goes to the police for some questioning and is at a disadvantage, but in order to protect Hye-rah he doesn’t tell the officers that the women in the picture is her. Hye-rah, watching all this from the other side of the glass, doesn’t know what to do. Baek-goem wakes up from his surgery and Dong-goo is so happy that he takes hold of his hand.

Kang-ho finds out that Pil-doo, in order to buy some land, convinced the elderly lady’s nephew so he gives her his stamp and tells her go see Pil-doo. She goes to Pil-doo and seals the written agreement with Kang-ho’s stamp. Happy that he got her stamp on the written agreement he smiles but while looking at the lettering of the stamp he sees that there is something strange about it and runs out but it is too late, as she had already got into Kang-ho’s car and left.
The elderly lady gives Dong-goo the ownership rights. Dong-goo very happily tells Kang-ho and Hyung-suk that they are now brothers. Hye-rah, after getting a phone call from her father telling her that they are still campaigning, goes to meet Kim Tae-jin.
Eps. 8
Tae-jin calls Hye-rah and asks for his suit jacket, which she looks for but can’t find; remembering only that she left it in a taxi. Hye-rah, in order to give Tae-jin his jacket back, takes Kang-ho to a department store to buy a new one but he thinks that she is buying him a suit for his birthday and can’t stop smiling. The grandma gets a phone call from the registry office telling her that the land has gone under sale in an auction. Surprised, she calls Dong-goo to tell him about it, but only after the land has been sold to Choi Sang-chul.
Kang-ho, Dong-goo, and Hyung-suk all sit down and think of a plan to get the land back. They decide to investigate the campaigning funds of Choi Sang-chul with the help of Hye-rah. Dong-goo goes to Mahm-bo, an expert at cracking safes, and asks him for his help. He refuses, telling Dong-goo that he does not do any illegal work anymore. Just then all the houses that he’s made keys for get broken into and he gets arrested for burglary, but with the help of Hyung-suk he gets found not guilty and get released from prison. The three decide to break into Choi’s safe and Ye-rin asks to help.
