Jang Sa-ya is full of curiosity and possesses an unpredictable personality.
She finds life at the Buddhist temple unbearable so she decides to run away one day
while carrying all her belongings in a backpack. Later in the night, Sa-ya takes out
300 won from her backpack to buy a cup of coffee from a vending machine but the
machine is broken and doesn’t pour the coffee she paid for.
So she starts kicking the machine...
The owner of the vending machine, Jung Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo), arrives
and yells at her for kicking his machine. Dong-shik is the son of Jung Han-mo
(actor Kim Se-yoon) and a troublemaker.
He bought the coffee vending machine with money he stole from his dad's bank
account. He then ran away from home because of this and got hit with a stroke of bad
luck when a cafe opened right next to his vending machine. Feeling bad about his
misfortune, he went out for a drink and when he discovered he didn't have enough
money to pay the bill, he went to his vending machine to take out some money.
This is where he finds Sa-ya kicking the machine.
After hearing Sa-ya’s reasons for kicking the machine, Dong-shik fishes for the key
to unlock the machine but he can’t find it.
So he asks Sa-ya to lend him some money so he can take a cab home.
Sa-ya tells him she’s flat broke. Dong-shik decides he has no choice but to break
open his machine and after giving it a few shoves, the machine coughs up coins.
But two policemen appear at the scene and ask them what they’re doing.
They are arrested and taken to the police station...

Jang Sa-ya (Actress Park Shin-hye) saves Park Jae-woo’s (actor Joo Sang-wook)
life and so Jae-woo gives Sa-ya his business card, telling her to contact him if
she ever comes to Seoul.
But the head monk has reservations about Jae-woo’s gesture because Sa-ya is a
monk in training who must sever all ties with the mundane world.
After Jae-woo leaves, the head monk rips apart Jae-woo's business card after
seeing Sa-ya joyfully looking at it.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung-yong (actor Seo In-seok)'s first son Min-ki(actor Kim
Jung-hak)is expected to arrive at the airport any time with his wife Jae-young
(actress Park Jung-sook).
Seung-yong is busy getting ready to welcome his son home and his wife Choi Ji-
sook (actress Kim Ja-ok) goes to the airport to pick them up.
Jae-young walks out of the gate wearing sunglasses even though it's a cloudy day
and is holding a small handbag while Min-ki is carrying all their luggage.
Ji-sook is not happy to see her son carrying all the bags but she doesn't show it.
They have a family dinner later and the tensions reach a breaking point after the
meal...

The head monk lays down scissors and a thin sheet before Sa-ya (Actress Park
Shin-hye). Sa-ya starts crying when the head monk asks her if she is ready to get
her hair shaved. As the head monk grabs a clump of Sa-ya’s hair to snip it off,
Sa-ya uses her wits to run away once again.
Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) goes to a hospital where Ho-seok is hospitalized.
Geum-hee asks the mother of Ho-seok to drop the charges against her son but the
mother does not relent. Geum-hee drops to her knees and starts begging the mother
to punish her instead of her son Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo).

Unaware that Jung Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo) already borrowed money from
Dong-jin to start a new business, Min-do (actress Lee Min-jung) lends Dong-shik
money as an investment in his start-up but Dong-shik uses it to pay the settlement
with someone he beat up.
Jung Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo) apologizes for what he said to Eun-ho
(actress Yoo Ho-jung) the day before and accompanies her on a reporting
assignment.
While visiting an old lady, Eun-ho and Dong-jin take a break from work and have a
light conversation. Park Jae-young (actress Park Jung-sook) tells Ji-sook (actress
Kim Ja-ok) that she has to meet her family but Ji-sook forcefully tells her to come
see her.
Eun-ho drops off Dong-jin at his home and when Goo-man (actor Kim Sung-gyeom)
gets a glimpse of Eun-ho, he is very impressed with her and tells the entire family
how nice she looked. Sa-ya spends the last night with the head monk...

Dong-jin(actor Kim Seung-soo) gets upset when he finds out that Ji-hae(actress
Kim Bo-gyeong) will be the host for a program that he’s be directing.
His network boss tells him that they had no choice due to the circumstances but Dong-
jin complains that he was give such a short notice.
After they finish recording one show, Ji-hae meets Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung)
for the first time. Ji-hae tells Eun-ho that she needs to know more about the show
and while requesting to see the previous scripts she also asks her to bring her a
cup of coffee. Eun-ho is flabbergasted at the request for coffee but she grins back
at her and goes to fetch some coffee.
When Dong-jin learns about the request that Ji-hae made to Eun-ho, goes over to
Eun-ho and tells her she doesn’t have to do such errands.

After leaving the temple, Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye) finds a part-time job at a
hamburger chain. She’s happy to land a job but she gets into a big fight with a
customer on her first day at work. Sa-ya takes issue with a diner who was about to
throw away her half-eaten hamburger and French fries. She scolds her for being
wasteful. Sa-ya offers to pack the half-eaten hamburger into a doggie bag for her.
The diner gets mad and calls the manager to complain.
Meanwhile, Soo-nam (actress Choi Ran) asks Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung) is
she’s interested in getting married again.
Ji-sook (actress Kim Ja-ok) is startled when she hears the question.

Sa-ya(actress Park Shin-hye) meets Jae-woo(actor Joo Sang-wook) by pure
coincidence and when Jae-woo asks her if there’s anything she needs, she tells
him that she'd like to have something to eat because she’s hungry.
Sa-ya gulps down the food in minutes.
Since Jae-woo told her that he’d do whatever he could for her after she saved his
life, she mentions how hard it is to find a job in the city and asks for his help.
Meanwhile, Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung) and Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo)
decided to share a cab ride together after a company dinner because they’re
heading in the same direction.
While Dong-jin is just about to hail a taxi, Ji-hae(actress Kim Bo-gyeong)drives up
in her car and offers to give Dong-jin a ride home. But Dong-jin rejects her offer.
Ji-hae then offers to give Eun-ho a ride home but Eun-ho makes up a quick excuse
and turns her down. Ji-hae angrily watches the two of them walk together...

Jae-woo(actor Joo Sang-wook) feels sorry that he cannot find a job for Sa-ya
(actress Park Shin-hye).
But he offers to find her dad and tells her that she’ll hear from a TV producer
soon about his whereabouts. Sa-ya tells Jae-woo that he is a very kind person
for helping her and Jae-woo smiles at her.
Meanwhile, Min-do (actress Lee Min-jung) is in a good mood in the morning after she
got hired at a flowershop at her brother’s hotel.
Dong-jin(actor Kim Seung-soo) suggests to Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung) that they
go to a nice beef stew restaurant that just opened cross from their office.
Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) bumps into Dong-jin in the hallways and asks him if
he's still mad at her. She offers to treat him to lunch later and won't take no for
an answer... She is delighted that she’ll have lunch with him later...

Dal-lae (actress Na Moon-hee) goes to the TV network building to meet the woman
that Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo) is seeing. Dal-lae meets Eun-ho (actress Yoo
Ho-jung) and ask her if she is dating anyone else.
She also asks her what she thinks of Dong-jin.
Eun-ho is flustered after hearing the direct questions and gets up to offer to show
Dal-lae around the building.
Meanwhile, Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) asks Dong-jin if he found Hwang Sang-
beom. Dong-jin asks his mother why it is important. So Geum-hee tells him that
she thinks he's the son of a person who helped her when she was in a desperate
situation.
She reminds Dong-jin to immediately tell her where he is after he learns of his
whereabouts.

Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) gets annoyed that Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung)
works closely with Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo). So Ji-hae suggests to Eun-ho
that they have lunch together and while they’re eating at a restaurant, she talks
about how Dong-jin once loved her so much. When Eun-ho mentions Ha-som, Ji-
hae gets irritated and asks her how she knows Ha-som. When Eun-ho tells her that
she met Ha-som at Dong-jin’s home, Ji-hae gets very jealous.
Meanwhile, Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook) buys a dress and shoes for Sa-ya
(actress Park Shin-hye) when she tells him that she has nothing appropriate to
wear when she meets her father.
Wearing the new clothes, Sa-ya goes to the hospital to visit her dad.
But Saya’s dad tells her she found the wrong person and turns his back on her.

Geum-hee learns that Sa-ya doesn’t have a place to stay and feels pity for her.
So she visits a real estate agency and asks the realtor to find a nice place
where a single woman could stay at.
Sa-ya is told by a nurse that her father’s hospital bills have been unpaid for two
months and he will be forced to leave soon.
She pleads with the nurse to let her father stay at the hospital but she is told
they cannot do anything more for her dad.
Sa-ya asks Ms. Yang (actress Ahn Sun-young) if she can get a salary advance but
her boss tells that new employees who have been employed for less than a month
cannot be given salary advances.
Meanwhile, Dal-lae (actress Na Moon-hee) finds out Eun-ho's (actress Yoo Ho-
jung) phone number and makes Ha-som call Eun-ho. Ha-som invites Eun-ho to her
house over the Chusok Holiday.
But Eun-ho turns down the invitation because she doesn't want to have an
awkward relationship with Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong).
So Dal-lae quickly orders Ha-som to pretend to cry before Eun-ho can hang up...
Ha-som invites Eun-ho again in a sobbing voice...

Ji-hae(actress Kim Bo-gyeong) is overcome with shock when she sees Ha-som
shy away from her and then walk towards Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung).
Ji-hae abruptly leaves while apologizing for her unannounced visit.
While the whole family sits around the living room, Eun-ho speaks up and says
she thinks she came by at the wrong time.
Dal-lae (actress Na Moon-hee) directly asks Eun-ho what she thinks of Dong-jin.
Eun-ho hesitates to reveal her past but finally tells them that she was once married
but became a widow after her husband died in an accident.
Dal-lae says everything is fine and asks for Eun-ho's phone number so that she
could call her before visiting her home on some other day.
Meanwhile, Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) is told by the hospital staff that
Sang-beom’s hospital bills have already been paid for. After Sa-ya (actress Park
Shin-hye) hears about this from Geum-hee, she is curious to know who paid for it
because she doesn’t know anybody who would do such a favor for her.

Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) tells her husband Han-mo (actor Kim Se-yoon)
that she would like to have Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye) live with them because
she has nowhere to stay. Han-mo tells her that he will support her decision and
invites Sa-ya over their house.
Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook) stays up all night in his car with Sa-ya and feels
sorry for her plight. Jae-woo places a pretty watch and a letter inside a box that Sa-
ya said was her treasure box. However, Miss Yang discovered the watch and
thinks that Jae-woo gave it to her.
Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo) is in disbelief when he sees how hard Dal-lae
(actress Na Moon-hee) tries to arrange Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung) to marry
himself. Meanwhile, Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) breaks down in tears during a
show when she reads a viewer’s letter that tells a sad story of how one mother
cannot see her own daughter... It seems to describe her own situation...

When Ji-sook (actress Kim Ja-ok) realizes that Dal-lae (actress Na Moon-hee) is
actually talking about how nice it would be to have Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung)
marry Dong-jin instead of her own daughter Min-do (actress Lee Min-jung), she
gets very upset.
When Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook) learns that the watch he meant to give to
Sa-ya mistakenly went to Miss Yang, he gets a major headache. Sa-ya (actress
Park Shin-hye) is accused of stealing a customer’s diamond ring so she
deliberately gets drunk later and falls asleep at the bar. Jae-woo feels sorry for Sa-
ya and decides to pay for a hotel room for her. While Jae-woo carries Sa-ya to the
room, Jung Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo) sees them and tells Dong-jin (actor
Kim Seung-soo) and Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) what he witnessed.
On Ha-som’s birthday, Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) buys a birthday gift for her
after she records one TV show. Then she goes to Ha-som’s home where Dal-lae
(actress Na Moon-hee) treats her coldly. With tears in her eyes, Ji-hae pleads to
Dal-lae to allow her to see her daughter, Ha-som.

Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung) gets angry when Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong)
tells her not to hang around Ha-som. The two women get into an argument about
who is fit to be a mom.
The staff searches the room after being told to find the diamond ring by Jae-woo
(actor Joo Sang-wook). when the diamond ring still does not turn up, Soo-nam
(actress Choi Ran) asks Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye) for give in her resignation.
While preparing a farewell gift for Jae-woo, Sa-ya is told that the diamond ring has
been found in the laundry so she is cleared of any suspicions and can come to
work again. Sa-ya is overjoyed and begins to cry...
When Eun-ho sees Min-do (actress Lee Min-jung) discovering the earrings that
Dal-lae (actress Na Moon-hee) left in Eun-ho’s room, she hesitates for a minute on
whether to tell Ji-sook (actress Kim Ja-ok) about her relationship with Dong-jin
(actor Kim Seung-soo) but eventually talks about it.

Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) sees Soo-nam (actress Choi Ran) in her car by
coincidence and cannot believe her eyes. Thinking that Soo-nam is staying in one
of the hotel rooms, Geum-hee enters the hotel to look for her and meets Jae-woo
(actor Joo Sang-wook).
While Dal-lae (actress Na Moon-hee) is shopping at a supermarket she sees that
Ji-sook (actress Kim Ja-ok) is having trouble paying for her groceries with her credit
card because it expired. So Dal-lae offers to lend Ji-sook money to buy the
groceries.
When Ji-sook visits Dal-lae to repay the money she borrowed, she meets Geum-
hee. Geum-hee and Ji-sook have been avoiding each other ever since they got into
a big quarrel related to Min-do (actress Lee Min-jung) and Jung Dong-shik (actor
Kim Heung-soo). They still harbor hard feelings towards each other and have a
spiteful conversation...
Meanwhile, Jung Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo) is unhappy that Sa-ya (actress
Park Shin-hye) will be living with his family again so he persuades Dong-min (actor
Seo Jun-young) to join him on going on a hunger strike to make his parent’s change
their mind..

Jung Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo) tries to prevent Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-
hye) from entering his house but the family warmly welcome Sa-ya. So Dong-shik
complains to his dad, Han-mo (actor Kim Se-yoon. Jung Dong-shik takes out his
frustrations on Dong-min (actor Seo Jun-young) who will be sharing his room.
Soo-nam (actress Choi Ran) is upset that Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook) allowed
Sa-ya to stay at one of the hotel rooms while Jae-woo gets mad at his mother for
trying to fire Sa-ya from her hotel job.
Jae-young (actress Park Jung-sook) suggests to Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung)
that they have lunch together and she also invites Jang Hyun-ki, a lawyer, without
telling her. When Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo) sees Eun-ho get out of Hyun-ki’s
car, he gets in a bad mood. While talking with his dad, Han-mo, Dong-jin tells him
that he likes Eun-ho.

With Goo-man (actor Kim Sung-gyeom), Dal-lae (actress Na Moon-hee), and Geum-
hee (actress Koh Du-shim) present, Han-mo (actor Kim Se-yoon) tells them that
Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo) is in love with Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung).
At the TV studio, the entire crew is busy preparing a show. While Dong-jin can’t
stop thinking about Eun-ho, a bouquet of flowers from Hyun-ki is delivered to Eun-
ho. When Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) sees Dong-jin losing his mind over Eun-
ho, she gives him some advice.
Dal-lae visits Eun-ho’s home.
As Dal-lae barges in without taking no for an answer, Ji-sook (actress Kim Ja-ok)
gets desperate and tells her that Eun-ho is seeing someone else. Hyun-ki, who is
in love with Eun-ho, waits in front of Eun-ho’s home. While Dal-lae passes by Eun-
ho’s home, Hyun-ki introduces himself to her as the future husband of Eun-ho and
this shocks Dal-lae. Eun-ho also gets flustered.
Ignoring the fact that his mother Soo-nam (actress Choi Ran) doesn’t like Sa-ya
(actress Park Shin-hye), Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook) goes out with Sa-ya and
tries to hold her hand...

When Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung) hears Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo) calling
her name outside, she gets up in surprise and runs out to meet him. Dong-jin finally
confesses his love for Eun-ho and Ji-sook (actress Kim Ja-ok) witnesses them
hugging each other. Ji-sook tells Eun-ho that she disapproves of her marrying Dong-
jin.
Disliking Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye), Jung Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo)
keeps giving Sa-ya a hard time, making it hard for Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook)
to watch Sa-ya getting treated badly by him. When Sa-ya puts on the make-up that
she received as a gift, Jae-woo is smitten by her pretty looks and his heart races.
After Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) witnesses Dong-jin and Eun-ho coming to
work together, she asks Dong-jin why he is not interested in rekindling their love.
When Dong-jin tells her that he is looking after what’s best for Ha-som, Ji-hae is
stung by the underlying meaning of those words.

Young-eun (actress Park Sun-young) has a hard time pinning down Gyeong-woo’s
mother’s (actress Park Won-sook) personality because she will act so differently
when Gyeong-woo (actor Yoon Sang-hyun) is not around. When hearing this from
Young-eun, Gyeong-woo accuses her of trying to cause a rift between himself and
his mother.
Meanwhile, Young-eun asks Gyeong-woo’s mother to teach her how to play flower
cards because Do-hyun’s mother (actress Yoon Mi-ra) advised her to try to develop
a warm relationship with her mother-in-law. Later in the day, Gyeong-woo brings
home ice cream and offers a spoonful of ice cream to Young-eun. When Gyeong-
woo’s mother sees this, she gets enraged...

When Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) hears that Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye)
lost her consciousness, she heads to the hotel in a hurry. Geum-hee catches a
glimpse of Soo-nam (actress Choi Ran) in the lobby as they pass each other. Geum-
hee charges towards Soo-nam and asks her if she is Mrs. Song Soo-nam but Soo-
nam says nothing and grimly turns away from her. But Geum-hee approaches her
again and tells her she knows something about her daughter. Soo-nam ducks into
her car and tells Geum-hee not to bother her with information about her dead
daughter.
Meanwhile, Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo) and Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung)
spend a great time with Ha-som at an amusement park. Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-
gyeong) gets curious about Ha-som when she doesn’t receive a call from her.
eps. 22
While the family is on a hiking trip to Mt. Jiri, Dong-shik (actor Kim Heung-soo) and
Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye) find themselves remaining together at home. Dong-
shik comes down with food poisoning in the middle of the night and loses
consciousness so Sa-ya tries to buy medicine for him when most of the pharmacies
are already closed. When Dong-shik wakes up the next morning, he realizes that
Sa-ya stayed up all night caring for him. When Dong-shik is told by Saya that she
got a cold because of him, he decides to buy cold medicine for her before she goes
to work but when he returns home he sees Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook) holding
Sa-ya in his arms and this fills him with jealousy.
Meanwhile, Soo-nam (actress Choi Ran) takes Jae-young’s (actress Park Jung-
sook) advice and asks Jae-woo what he thinks about her decision to assign Sa-ya
as her personal secretary.
eps. 23
Jae-woo (actor Joo Sang-wook) visits Sa-ya’s (actress Park Shin-hye) home and
asks the family to persuade Sa-ya to take the secretary job. Dal-lae (actress Na
Moon-hee) asks Jae-woo what kind of relationship he has with Sa-ya and Jae-
woo tells her that he likes Sa-ya after hesitating.
Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) looks over Jae-woo and asks him why he is
doing this on behalf of the president. Jae-woo reveals to her that the president is
actually his mother.
When just Sa-ya and Jae-woo are together in her room, he tells her that Geum-hee
was different than before and seemed to be judging him as a potential son-in-law.

When Ha-som disappears, the whole family gets hysterical and Eun-ho (actress
Yoo Ho-jung) feels terribly guilty over the whole incident. She takes a day off from
work and looks for Ha-som all day.
After recording her show, Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) goes home as fast as
she can since Ha-som is waiting there. Ji-hae and Ha-som go shopping and have
a nice dinner together but when it gets late, Ha-som starts asking to go home and
cries. This saddens Ji-hae.
Meanwhile, Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye) accepts Jae-woo’s (actor Joo Sang-
wook) proposal and goes to work as his mother’s personal secretary. Sa-ya gets
yelled at in the morning for drinking out of Soo-nam’s coffee cup.

Geum-hee (actress Koh Du-shim) takes Sa-ya (actress Park Shin-hye) to a
department store to buy a nice outfit for her. Sa-ya finds an outfit she likes but after
seeing the price tag, she decides to buy something cheaper. Geum-hee is touched
by Sa-ya’s concern but she says she can buy it for her and charges it on her credit
card. The sales clerk asks them if they are mother-in-law and daughter-in-law but
Sa-ya tells her it’s a long story to explain their relationship and this saddens Geum-
hee.
Meanwhile, Eun-ho (actress Yoo Ho-jung) tells Dong-jin (actor Kim Seung-soo)
that she is reconsidering their relationship after Ha-som ran away because of her
and suggests that he try to reconcile with Ji-hae (actress Kim Bo-gyeong) and start
over with her.
