Jang Jae-Kyeong (Ji Sung) is an ace detective on the drug task force at Anhyeon Police Station. His life's motto is that weakness in success happens when personal connections and supporters are involved. To avoid that pitfall, he keeps a distance from friends, fellow police officers, and even his own family when he senses it could cause trouble. He is a person with strong convictions and principles. A crisis then occurs in his life. He is forced to become addicted to drugs by someone. With the death of his friend as a clue, he reveals the whole story of connections within a 20 year corrupt friendship.

Meanwhile, Oh Yoon-Jin (Jeon Mi-Do) is a local news reporter for the Anhyeon Economic Daily Newspaper. She is very self-assertive and says things without reserve. Due to her personality, she was unfairly fired at her previous job. It wasn’t easy for her to get hired in the same field. She decided to focus her reporting on corruption and return to Anhyeon City. As a reporter for the Anhyeon Economic Daily Newspaper, she gets involved with Detective Jang Jae-Kyeong.

Nik Jun 08 2025 4:05 am Wow, it's a really exciting K-drama! Ji Seong is acting really great and the other co-stars also do a great job. Here I am not sure if 16 episodes would have been able to be filled, I think the tempo is just fine with 14 eps.

Some here say the ending sucks, I don't think so. If you think more than just once about it, it kinda makes sense to write it this way. Also "CEO Yoon" was not such a big part in the drama, she just did something "doctor" ordered out of personal disliking someone.

SPOILER ALERT: From the moment where doctor reveals himself so easily, everything goes downhill. Nothing makes sens anymore: CEO Yoon dies so suddenly without adding anything to the show despite being a key actor? Doctor suddenly reveals himself out of the blue that easily to a Cop he Drugged and in that way? Jae-Kyeong accepts having been drugged so easily after getting angry for a minute?? Tae-jin dies on an impulse despite being the key to everything? The chairman - prudent for a living - reveals himself that easily from anger and gets convicted due to anger?? Just after Jae-Kyeong goes to see him??? We're suddenly sent 1 month later ? Friendship wins like in fairytales? Where did Jae-Kyeong go? It's like he becomes someone else. Why didn't Yoon-Jin bring her daughter back despite it affecting her so much? Where did all the built up tension throughout the show go? The dark show suddenly shifts to ideal pink friendship? It just doesn't suit the show.

The show is not even about friendship. It's too dark to be about it. We see relationships of convenience (a side of friendship, that's true) but is it really about friendship? With Jae-Kyeong ryling mostly on himself throughout the show, Yoon-Jin trying to hide things from him, ... this is not a show about frienship, trying to twist it around it at the end just ruined everything!

This show had sooooo much potential. It reminded me of The Glory (maybe even surpassed it with an exceptional cast, where no one felt out of place, an exception and genious plot), but everything - for me - was destroyed by an incoherent ending. It ruined the show and did not give it what it deserved. This is very much frustrating.

I've been following Ji Sung since I watched him in Save the Last Dance 20 yrs ago. And I've loved Jeon Mi-Do since she was Chae Song-hwa in Hospital Playlist. So this duo was a perfect combination for me!!

The final scene at the beach was a welcome relief after all the stress and tension from all the episodes. This series was well written and directed. The cast was very good... I didn't find any annoying character or anything like that. Everyone's role contributed to make the entire show well-rounded without any plot holes.

I know I'm going to watch this series again... 14 episodes was just right, but had they gone up to 16, I would only be too happy!

However, Jeon Mi-Do is truly classy as a money hunter and the development of Kwon Yool and Jeong Jae-Kwang’s characters adds a refreshing twist. While the theme of friendship is highlighted, the ending feels a bit awkward, leaving a big question about the disappearance of Oh Yoon-Jin's character as a mother separated from her daughter.

June Jul 27 2024 10:31 pm Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-Do are both amazing actors. The enormous cast makes it difficult to remember names. However, every episode is full of turns and twists and extremely unpredictable and so gripping. Thank you to all the script writers, the director, the crews and the whole cast. I enjoyed this kdrama so much. Will probably rerun it again to make sure I have not miss any bits.

AMR Jul 12 2024 8:47 am Casting and acting were both superb. Actors portrayed their roles really well. Ji Sung, as expected was phenomenal in his portrayal of a forced into drug addict. As each episode progressed from the time he was made to take the drugs, you could actually see the deterioration in his physical appearance. He was truly convincing in the role that he played. The plot and the twists were suspenseful and since all the actors played their roles to perfection, each episode became a must see to the very end. This is truly highly recommended, must watch k-drama for 2024. I am now certified fan of Ji Sung.

Sang Eui said the password that Tae Jin is looking for which is the last 4digits are Ji Yeon's bday but at the end they used it as the first 4digits combined with their Friendship day. I don't know if I misunderstood the subtitles but yeah still recommended!

Ji sung never disappoints and the entire cast carried the show. There are no plot holes or whatsoever, and I like how pieces come together for the development of the plot. CONNECTION as a title for this drama is such a genius move. It feels so good to watch a drama in a while without having to press the forward button once.

I especially love the ending. I think it's the best part. The thing I'm only disappointed about is Doctor's true identity. Before it was revealed that it was "him", I already made speculations that he's Doctor. But I'm somewhat expecting a more horrifying character or someone I don't even doubt. And tbh, his reason for drugging jae gyeong is downright foolish. I mean, they could have come up with something more plausible. But anyways, this a must-watch, 9.5/10

A very good lawyer in the Devil Judge and now an action police officer! I didn’t watch yet all his dramas but wow, really wow with his superb skills! All the characters really played well. My crime and comfort drama. Comfort because of the friendship in the end. Good ending! Good story! Never waisted my time. Not perfect but 9/10

If so, then he'll most likely be the adult No Kyu-min (missing taxi driver). I wonder whose the doctor tho. Jeong Sang-eui seems suspicious enough but right now I'm pretty sure the voice of the text sender is not Jeong Sang-eui's voice. But damm this drama is just as good as Blind which gets more interesting in each episode!!

Then, for me No Kyu Min is the mastermind planned all the script revenge to Won Jong soo, Park Tae Jin, Oh Chi Yun, Jung Yun Ho about Chae Kyung Tae death. No kyu Min laso the taxi driver who drove Park Jun seo to the contruction site. Chi Yun said at least 2 people are needed to move Lee Myung Guk dead body (Saung Eui x No Kyu Min). The PIN is 1882.

Then I asked why would this go further to 16 episodes? Then asian wiki has 14 episodes; no matter what, this should only be 10 episodes the maximum because it's so tiring to watch already no matter how good the ML. The flashback , i cant get catch on who is who !

He is not as handsome as Hyun Bin or In sung but his acting skill is one of the best in Korea. Big applause to the screen writer, and the whole connection team. You guys did an amazing job. I definitely cannot wait for Connections and we'll be seeing another excellent performance from Jeon Mi Do.

Just hopeful they refrain from doing overly cinematic but shallow scenes. Premise is good but how bout the execution? Pls do something worth to watch

I live in the USA and can honestly, say there’s not to many actors here that can compare to Ji Sung! He was great in Secret Love, Dr. John, on a lighter note Entertainers. He's my favorite actor of all time, he's so diverse and takes on the best roles and carries them like no one else could. I always have high expectations for him and this will be no different.
