Around 19 years ago, an incident led Wataru Ogura (Yukiya Kitamura) and his wife An Ogura (Yukie Nakama) to promise that they will divorce when their child turns 20 years old. As time goes by, Wataru Ogura believes that the promise was made as a joke, but An Ogura holds on to the promise as a source of comfort. While having completely different emotions, they live normal daily lives with their two children. On a stormy night, Wataru Ogura thoughtlessly talks about their promise to the other residents of their apartment complex.
