Kim Soo-Young (Shin Ha-Kyun) is a newly elected member of the national assembly. He is a member of the conservative New Korea Party. Prior to his election, Kim Soo-Young worked as a judge, but became pressured by higher ups and decided to enter the political world. Now, Kim Soo-Young becomes involved in a tangled situation with national assembly member No Min-Young, who entered the political world after her sister's death. No Min-Young's sister was a presidential candidate. No Min-Young is also a member of the Progressive Labor Party, who only has two members in the national assembly. Kim Soo-Young and No Min-Young then begin to have romantic feelings for each other.

soom Oct 31 2024 6:02 pm Surprising how well this drama wears 10 years later. The premises are the same (unfortunately) about gov't corruption, but the timeless tug of war over love vs comittment to a cause holds the drama together. The cast is well seasoned and delivers lines well. I just wish there was a bit more substance to the story. Eye candy here is Shin Ha Kyun rather than an actress. Charisma oozes from the man.

Coming here after watching Brain, to find Shin Ha Kyun a different character. He is so good, he really makes it believable, whether playing a completely arrogant ass or romantic man, a brainy surgeon, or a fool.

gdik Nov 04 2013 2:19 pm the ost is superb in this drama. i think the main actor(Kim So Young) was somewhat unnatural in some scenes. He's good but his acting reminds me of theatre which is not a bad thing. The story may not appeal to the audience since it talks about politics.The stories' villain also lacks a strong appeal and mysterious charm since it's mostly the public or a not-so-smart politicians. Nonetheless, I'm a big fan of Lee Min-jung and I did enjoy watching this drama. Akdong Musician's "I Love You" (ost of this drama) has been on replay for a couple of days. =) It reminds me of those cute and lovely moments...... >>> I'm a sucker for RomCom movies/series

This Movie teach about politic in a funny way. Absolutely Hillarious, the plot, the actor, the scene, it's all the best. I dont know why this drama didnt catch korean viewers taste, maybe because there is no idol actress/actors, no cheese plot, or fairy taile story. But if you seek for a good, romantic, funny yet educating story just watch this drama.

unfortunately it was underrated in Korea. I cannot understand why.. this is a SBS Drama. (without disregarding and decreasing my respect to other dramas) in my humble opinion, most of SBS Drama always have better quality or something "unique" than other dramas from other TV station. well, I personally have no problems with politics theme in a romantic comedy genre. it is very light on the story line, on the dialog, but touching. I do not like something too much, so watching the drama just fit my taste. furthermore, I've been learning about Korean politics and I'm doing my thesis about the right and left wing in SKorean politics that help me a lot to get the idea of the scrip writer. I got so into the drama on the early 7 episodes. and I still could laugh on the 10th episode.

I like the character of the two main cast. Kim Soo-young and Noh Min-young. ^^, we should give four (maybe five?) stars to Shin Ha-Kyun for his excellent hard work! maybe I will watch his another drama/movie.

last but not least, I love the soundtracks! all of them are captivating. especially the Akdong Musician's song. :)

overall, I like this drama! and rate it around 90%! AAMR, you get a fan from Indonesia :)

herbmom Jun 05 2013 8:58 pm I loved this show! It is one of the most enjoyable I have seen. How refreshing to not have some evil, cruel manipulator trying to destroy everyone In their way. The music was delightful! The politics were a great spoof. The minute SHK flashed a big smile, I was sold on the romance as well. His chemistry with LMJ was great. There were a lot of sweet moments, with some great kisses. I am really glad I watched AAMR. Thumbs up to everyone who contributed!

It's been such a long long time a drama had a such a great last episode and such a beautiful closed ending. Totally worth seeing every scene from episode 1 till end. Every moment is enjoyable and full of humour, and I love all characters in it, even the supporting characters are enjoyable and fun to watch. The second leads, Park Hee Sun and Han Chae Ah's characters are lovable as well. There is no character that I can hate in this drama, which makes it less stressful to watch lol. The very first reason why I decided to watch this drama is because of the male lead actor, Shin Ha-kyun. I don't really know him at first, since I have not yet watch BRAIN at that time. I merely think that a large age gap between the couple is quite nice to see and refreshing :) As I kept watching this drama, I started to find Shin Ha-kyun is really an attractive man. Lee Min Jung and him made such a cute couple, as their chemistry blend really well. If Lee Min Jung is still single (she's currently in a relationship with Lee Byung Hun) I would really think that Shin Ha-kyun and her can be a make-belief real couple ^^ Well, since watching this drama, I keep looking for Shin Ha-kyun's previous acting works, but I should say that this drama is really a 'goldmine' since I can see Shin Ha Kyun's precious smiles in almost all episodes ^////////////^

I could not understand why Korean watchers don't appreciate the story, maybe because they think its just about politics. I agree that Shin Ha-Kyun as Kim Soo-Young is underrated. He is captivating, witty, good kisser, great smile and his scenes in the last few episodes were really great. I felt KSY's pain when he was longing for No Min-Young (teary eyed when he cried) and was also happy when finally got NMY back. Hope he gets a chance to have a new drama soon and the rating will not set him back career-wise. Fighting SHK! You have a fan from the Philippines!

SHK is quite a kisser ,the lovey dovey scenes r a refreshing change from the usual fare ..SHK doesn't seem to b able to keep his hands eyes or lips off LMJ!just love everything abt AAMR n hope the last epi will b the most memorable..

Rebekah Huang May 24 2013 5:09 pm What a shame for everyone that this perfectly lovely, well written and acted show was not advertised well and got lost in the shuffle. Ill admit to doing just that. When I saw the poster for the show I was shallow enough not to find the males leads, who I'd never seen before, attractive so I didn't think I would be interested in the show. I fast forward and skip through a lot of shows but, one bored night I decided to try it and boy was I wrong! SHK has one of the most engaging and attractively expressive faces and behaviors that I have seen in an actor Korean or American and i have a big fat crush on him now and the rest of the cast was excellent and the writing wonderful. The day to day drama was well written and the love story charming. I wish it was continuing bcos they made me want to spend time with their characters everyday and that's what entertainment should be.

deltoid May 21 2013 1:20 am Great cast, and not just the leads. Lee Min-Jung's variety of expressions is fabulous. Taking in account that the stroyline of this romcom is a bit over the top (no criticizm, that's the way it has to be) the charakters are really well developped and a lot more realistic and coherent then in many other dramas. With Ep. 13 done I start to become a bit sceptical. With "Protect the Boss" beforehand the writer proved one of the most prominent abilities of Korean script writers - the untamed ability to screw up every drama in its last quarter. We will see.

chatz May 14 2013 4:39 am I love the female lead character in this drama, as a politician she is smart n has a strong belief of her won but at the same time she is also fragile as a woman. This is how the male lead fits, they compliment each other really well. I salute SHK n LMJ for their awesome chemistry.

With 5 ep left i wonder what the real conflict willl be reveal n how they will wrap it up. Hope its not rushed or have an open ending coz ive loving this drama n not willing to have a bad taste just coz a crappy ending.

This is what we call a entertainer, it makes us laugh ...it makes us smile ...it makes us wonder :) Of all the dramas airing I find this drama and time travel 9 to be the best then gu family book !!!! Shin Ha-Kyun & Lee Min-Jung you both are doing a great job totally loving your acting. Who thought of casting you both ...hats of you both blend just like the leading pair of the winter and the wind , you both are perfect for each other. The rest of the actors too great job ...every one has a comic sense the scene btw the assistant and Ha kyun is totally hilarious and offcourse we should not forget Mr Porn ha ha :)

But it's extremely enjoyable with loveable characters, and a really good storyline so far! Korean romance fans will enjoy, I recommend! 9/10 At the moment! :)

ASI May 10 2013 3:45 am I too don't understand why this drama is so underrated !!! It's so enjoyable ! I mean people were going on about Haeundae Lovers and that drama was slow and quite a bit borring to be honest ,but kept in watching because of the couple lol. Anyways back to the main subject this is so much better than HL like much much better. The couple has a charm and real hilarious moments and adorable skinship scenes. i can not belive how the main actress is stealing my heart lol ! I was drawn to her in BIG but here she rocks ;) .I Wish that people would start giving credits to those who deserve it ! It has those little stuff that's off but wich drama hasn't ? Keep AJA !

A Gentleman's Dignity didn't have low ratings. It started off with 13.7% (2nd). Nothing compared to this drama. This drama is already half way through, it most likely will never get high ratings.

KDramaFan Apr 27 2013 12:39 pm The dialogues about politics are witty but the romance aspect though funny at times dragged too long so it gets boring though watching LMJ is a joy because her face is so refreshing and beautiful. I agree with one of the comments that she acted immature. It's the script's fault. SHK can be funny but most of the times he was overacting and looks pathetic and girly. He should not overdo his comic antics so that his acting will look more natural. Both are playing the role of legislators, they should act with dignity. Acting dumb when you are in love is acceptable but too much of it do not make a good story.

Peejay Apr 27 2013 8:06 am I agree that the drama is under rated by Korean drama watchers. I think what usually clicks for them are family dramas and flower boy dramas. It is so witty and funny. It is realistic about the petty issues in politics. I think Shin Ha-Kyun and Lee Min-Jung tandem clicks and I do not feel yukky but rather giggly when they have a scene together. The drama keeps me wanting for more. Well, A Gentleman's Dignity also had low rating at the start maybe because the actors were more mature but picked up later, ratings wise. Fighting AAMR! You are missing a lot if you don't watch this drama Korean drama watchers!

I do have a sense of humour. I just find this drama boring and not funny at all. Everyone has a different sense of humour. Just because you find it funny, does not mean everyone has to find it funny. Obviously, most Koreans don't find it funny at all.

The dialogue, although I'm depending on the translators, is very intelligent. Shin Ha Kyun 's acting is wonderful. He can be funny, charming or adorable, just from an expression of his face. He can also be arrogant or scary just as easily. I believe after seeing his performance in BRAIN that he is one of the best actors anywhere, not just Korea. Lee Min Jung does come off a little immature, but it is this vulnerability that keeps the men dueling over her. All in all, I am enjoying this drama immensely.

People really enjoy dramas when there are family troubles or when heroine is poor, hero is rich or other way round or the kind where you have melodramas in which one person is trying or rather a group of villains are trying to make it all worse. But when it comes to some intelligent comedy people back off. What is wrong with people? Moreover the serial has projected the loopholes in politics in a very humorous manner. And the ones who don't like Lee Min Jung just give her a chance and look up the serial till the very end and then judge. She is doing a commendable job.

Meanwhile, after I watch 3 episodes of this series, I can say that this series is so good! Smart comedy, not for you that don't have sense of humor or a stupid person...haha...

Yea, some parts are boring and LMJ is not as entertaining as SHK, but I still like their budding romance and the different views on politics. I think it has a good balance between politics and romance, and I especially love the aunt/niece relationship...always makes me smile. I honestly find HCA's character a little annoying and LMJ a little stiff. I still and always have loved SHK. AAMR, hwaiting!

But, it's a part of process, and depends how the crew and production staff make this. Up and down is usual. Just be patient. There are still 15 more episodes to go. Cheer Up for the Team !!!
