Baek Seol-Hee (Jang Shin-Young) is a single mother with a bright and positive personality, raising her daughter alone. Baek Seol-Hee runs a small restaurant. She has an ordinary, but happy daily life with her daughter. Her life suddenly changes due to an unexpected case, in which her daughter is the victim, but is turned into the perpetrator. Baek Seol-Hee vows revenge on those who are responsible for that.

Zeila Jan 06 2026 10:52 pm First, I normally love long family dramas, and I expect a certain amount of repetitiveness and a few tropes. However, this had to be the worst drama I have ever tried to watch!! I had seen a lot of bad reviews about it online, but decided to judge for myself. So repetitive that half way through I just skipped the middle of the eps and went straight to the end. So "tropey" it was easy to guess what was coming next...the accidents, the hospitalizations, the scams, no guess-work needed at all. The chairman had 9 lives! Every character ended up in the hospital at one point or another, but the chairman went in with "life-threatening" illnesses so many times...even complete paralysys. The screaming in every ep was waaayyy over the top and cartoonish. The ending? Absolutely ridiculous. Who wrote this crap?

Jamse Dec 25 2025 1:43 pm The reason why the ending felt so rushed is because there were just too many episodes of “I’m the CEO, no I’M the CEO.” Along with the Kyeong Chae character’s constant snarl and scowl, and the Sun Jae character’s perpetual sneer and smirk, it just became repetitive and tiresome.

I think MBC’s new daily drama will be “First Man” starring Hahm Eun Jung and Yoon Sun Woo that will start on December 15, 2025. However, I skip both drama, "The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun" and "First Man". I do not like revenge story, I prefer family drama that encourages forgiveness and 'conquering' challenges or 'prevailing' over adversity, I am just throwing my two cents. Thank you.

You are going to let someone in your home’ slap you around, take Se Rei hostage and walk out. The actor who plays Lucia is unbelievable The script flip of Stella is ridiculous. All of a sudden she becomes meek and mild. These last few episodes have been a nightmare

abc Nov 28 2025 10:50 pm @jinjoo, the housekeeper thought Miso would die. She also thought that Kyung Chae would not survive that. So she switched the babies.

Oh Jang Suk is a great actor. But I am still not used to seeing him as a bad guy. But it only shows how versatile he is that he can play the good and the baddie so well.

Now the scenes show how much love KyungChae has for Seri. Please, cuddling in bed and saying ILY doesn't cut it. Early scenes where Seri ran wild like an untamed beast hunting for dinner. KyungChae would slap her and then banish her, all the while talking about how Seri's actions would affect the stock price. Whatever the writer wants to say, I think KyungChae had Seri only out of defiance of her father. She had little love and time to teach, guide and nurture Seri.

I've always asdmire Oj Jang suk when I saw him first time in Princess Aurora (teamed up with my other K actor face Seo ha jun) anyway, since we're also talking about the switching of Se ri and Miso, it's mind boggling how the mean housekeeper switched the babies, was I missing a thing when I saw the scene in the ambulance? Did she switch them bec she thought the other baby (Mi so) was dying? anyone please shed some light :) also re Mdm Jang, big time she'll regret what she'd done to Lucia for sure & this will be a slap on her face! However, I'm liking the way her assistant who calls Jang 'mom' has been demonstrating his disgusts with her & really monitoring the strategies of both Mdm Jang & K. Chae! I can't wait for the rest of this drama! (also I'm wondering why the ratings are not so impressive where this is one of the best interesting Kdramas I've seen lately?) hmmm

The switched at birth twist is really dumb. Following the show’s logic, all that’s going to happen is that Kyeong Chae and Stella will switch from “we’ll destroy anyone for Se Ri” to “Get Se Ri” because of her role in the death of Mi So, completely ignoring Kyeong Chae’s involvement. It would have been better to leave Se Ri where she was so that she could properly atone for her past crimes.

i think Seri has been wild before bec she was hungry for love, attention from a mother hence when Lucia came into her life regardless of Lucia's quest for revenge the young girl has been seemingly mellowed! i can't wait to see the nxt epi!

Dex Oct 30 2025 2:54 am @Gian Louis, a very interesting theory! That would be a nice twist. But if I were Sulhee, I would hate Kyungchae even more. Seri was raised with little love and attention. Kyungchae "protected" her when it served her interest. When it clashed with the company, Kyungchae always chose the company because she was aiming to be the Chairman. Kyungchae blames her father for "forcing" her to give up on the man she loves. but in reality, she chose the company over her 'love'. She could have walked away from the company.

It’s possible that Se-Ri could be Mi-So’s twin sister, or that there was a mix-up at the hospital—perhaps Baek Sul-Hee’s baby was swapped with Kyung-chae’s. What if Kyung-chae’s baby died, and Manager Gong, out of desperation or deceit, switched the babies? There are some intriguing connections that suggest this theory. For instance, Se-Ri and Baek Sul-Hee share the same shrimp allergy, and both Se-Ri and Kim Sun-Jae are left-handed, which could be a subtle hint that they are related.

FL sure can pick on the weaker party! Selfish and devious as she is, I actually like Kyeong Chae better than FL at this point and am actually rooting for Kyeong Chae to hold off FL in some way (though I know it won't end that way of course) particularly in defending Butler Kong!

In the competition to choose a random product for the home shopping competition, Knowing that Kyong Chae and Sun Jae will sabotage them and cheat, they assign the task of putting the choices in a container to the idiot Chairman’s son who leaves the box out in the open, unprotected, and it didn’t occur to the good guys to protect it or even look at it? Or challenge the gloating bad guys by showing that all the choices in the box were the same so that Lucia would have to choose the product she has a severe allergy to? And not know in advance they’d rig the contest results Can this drama get any dumber?

She haughtily said she was the daughter of the chairman but now she knows she's the illegitimate granddaughter. And Gramps and Mummy thought of her as a Dirty Secret to be kept from the world! haha, lovely!

The perfect revenge for Mi So would be Se Ri finding this out. She then goes on a rampage. On her way to Kyeong Chae's office, she bumps into Boram. She beats her to a pulp! There are passersby but nobody goes to Boram's help. It will take Boram months to recover!

Se Ri encounters Kyeong Chae just outside the building as Mummy was about the leave the building. There are staff, passers-by, journalists & cameramen (there was a media event earlier). She yells at Kyeong Chae that she knows that Kyeong Chae is her biological Mum. haha, priceless. She also yells out other misdeeds of Kyeong Chae, Gramps :). The share price goes deep south the next day and the company goes into receivership!

oberen Aug 31 2025 12:38 am Se Ri will get a mental breakdown when she finds out who her real parents are and how she was born out of wedlock. She’ll realise too late that the insults she heaped on Mi So would rebound back to her.

As for Seol Hee although I don’t approve of her methods of seeking revenge I can see why she did it. There’s few options for her even the law cannot aid her in this as she is up against a rich family with a legal team led by her ex-boyfriend who was a former prosecutor

Is the revenge worth losing your soul? You think you can continue to be a good person when you are so obsessed with revenge to the point you prostitute yourself? She has become a worthless person and the drama is not worth my time.

I will definitely be watching this one, even though honestly I DO get a little tired of revenge themes in Korean dramas. Maybe this one will surpass that typical plot devices of that genre and surprise me and be better. :)
