Choi Jin-Hyuk (Kim Byung-Chul) is a successful lawyer at a large law firm. He is married to Ha Eun-Joo (Yoon Se-Ah) and they have an adopted daughter Choi Sun-Hui (Park Ju-Hyun). He is faithful to his family. Ha Eun-Joo used to be a neuropsychiatric specialist, but, due to trauma from an unexpected accident, she quit her job. She is now a full-time housewife, who focus on taking care of her family. She loves her daughter Choi Sun-Hui deeply and she will do anything to protect her. Choi Sun-Hui is a model student and has a pretty appearance. Their family looks like a perfect and happy family, but things change. Choi Sun-Hui is suddenly caught up in a murder case.

Marcus Oct 01 2024 6:55 am Watch in 1.25x speed. Decent drama but gee, enough flashbacks and slow scenes. I was constantly skipping forward 30 seconds just waiting for someone to get in a car or answer a phone or walk down a hallway. Everything is so overdone. Easily could have been 8 episodes, tops. Probably even a movie. They really stretched this one out. Episode 3 was the most boring for me, I skipped half of it - but I found the second half of the series (bar the finale) to be much better at keeping my attention.

After all, the motivation for such atrocities was money. The female lead did nothing but cry in most of the episodes that it was painful to keep watching; I had to speed it up to get it over with.

Kristine Sep 11 2024 7:28 am I didn’t think the main character the culprit. The blood stains just didn’t make sense for that. I did not expect the other tangents the story went. I think the parents are acting well in this story. Nice to see them together again. I’m almost rooting for them although that does not make sense. It must be good acting. The gaslighting is just done so well. Episode 2 I didn’t really want anything to happen to her but I also don’t want her to escape the car either. Wow! I don’t normally root for good and for evil.

I don't think the pacing or the direction is the problem, more like every character takes 2 years to reply to a question, and they take another 2 years to say their answer. The multiple flashbacks over and over again. Multiple shots of one scene. Was just curious if anyone felt the same way while watching the drama.

Am I the only one who feel bad for Suyeon? She is acting bad but deep in her heart she doesn’t wanna hurt sunhui as seen in episode 7. She is just psychologically destroyed and just want love and feel betrayed for small things because she has 0 confidence in herself. Her live is so shitty, I wish she could see that she could get love and get redemption but unfortunately it seems even after her death she will be destroyed that’s very sad.

sf Aug 31 2024 2:36 am Sun-Hui had a normal life until Soo-Yeon appeared again in her life. It is obvious that Soo-Yeon wants to destroy Sun-Hui's happy life and her actions work. I don't think she is dead and also I don't like Hyun-Min, so-called policeman, to me he seems suspicious. Suspicious seems to be Sun-Hui's parents too but I should wait until the end to see what their story is. I do not agree with Sun-Hui's naivety, not to call stupidity, and I have never understood that friendship from childhood to continue compulsory after ten years of separation. In ten years a person can change, what you liked once could be unpleasant today. What if Hyun-Woo was the one who lit the fire Kyeong-Ho's house? Why does he keep in touch with Soo-Yeon?

Number 1 theory:

It might be that Sun Hui has disorder personality. She might be bad more likely psychotic.or she’s been an arsonist since she was a kid and it might have started during the big fire in the orphanage.

Number 2 theory:

It might be that the ajussie “the cop” who warned Sun hui about her parents was avenging his son. Remember, when he said that his son was kidnapped? I guess it was Hyeon U. And hyeon U from day 1 started to be friend Sunhui.

Number 3 theory It might be that Soo yeon(the burned friend) was in revenge and the parents are protecting sun hui.and also, Sunhui might be hllucinating about the peanut butter incident. And also, if you remember, sun hui father said “we should kill them”. The “them” might be “the cop ajussi”, “soo yeon” and Hyeon U whos harming sun hui.

Su hui - she has a happy life with loving parents and 2 BFFs who adore her. suddenly this bald freak bully comes in and tortures her, BUT she still remains loyal and submissive. Even taking the blame for Kyeong-Ho's murder, and worrying about her... and doubting her parents. So Yeon - Freak! blaming everything on Sun hui, she taught her how to light a match, when the orphanage burned down - she blames Sun hui for her miserable life coz she wasn't adopted. Now she wants everything Sun hui has. It's not Sun Hui's fault, life is really like that. Parents & Kyeong-Ho - Good for them they take action on circumstances. Kyeong-Ho protected sun hui (while sun hui just left him for dead) Parents no matter how secretive or *evil * they may be, they protect what is theirs. Oh wheelllllll just wanted to say my piece since I'm really frustrated on how sun hui is - slow naive protecting the wrong people... I just really hope she is a psychopath!! wait even in Mouse - the ML had a personality and was a strong character!!!

yep, that confirms everything.... Sun-Hui, has darkness inside her that she forgot due to hypnosis or something that her mother did as neuropsychiatric, they gave her a diary to track everything she did as they are worried she might kill someone.

they are probably applying the same story style as Mouse and Flower of Evil, where the real psychopath is actually the one who acts so innocent and goody goody. We were just made to believe that something is sus with the parents but i think its Sun-Hui all along...

L Aug 29 2024 6:42 am watched episode 4 and i have a theory. i think Choi Sun-Hui is actually a psychopath who just forget... she was adopted by her parents and i think she accidentally killed her older brother.. her mom who is a neuropsychiatric specialist, made Sun-Hui forget everything that happened to her older brother. they hide the room, so that Sun-Hui wont remember.

and as of Choi Hyun-Min, the uncle knows everything. when Sun-Hui was young, she forgot that she encountered the uncle probably due to having her memories erase.. (some of her memories)..

as for the parents, they were in panic as maybe Sun-hui remembers something..? and not sure now about the plan that it should continue.. hmmmm... i wonder if the brother is in coma or he's really dead. reminds me of the scene in FLOWER OF EVIL LOL!

And the Mysterious room, i think it's not the parent's real child, but more like his father sibling's room. And the one who meet the FL is the owner of that room. CMIIW.

i still have faith at both, the parents <3 I think they're just perfect. Is it wrong if i think that's great if the Parents really do that for her, that just show how much they love her and want to protect her at all cost? Lmao, i just can't make conclusion about the culprit now
