There were no exact words to describe how beautifully crafted the plot, scenes, character and every episode were all worth it to watch. I was bawling my eyes out when I watched the last four episodes. This was actually heartbreaking and the same time heartwarming drama. I was convinced to make it as my top one on the best Kdrama series I have ever watched. I am quite dissapointed because the other characters were not given exposure for their older version. I was desperately wanted to see all the older version of the characters in your series. I am demanding for season 2, I guess Reply 1988 there were still a lot of stories to offered and showcased to the audience. I want to know what happen to the other characters after they moved out. I want to know if they were still close when they reach their older version? Did they hang out just like before? How they met or hoe they run their errands? I was really curious and I am dying to know if you can grant my wish though. Keep fighting and I hope more dramas wil come too soon. I am rooting and looking forward for your upcoming works.

Because Reply 97 made him as one of best directors in South Korea. Reply 1997 was also the savior of tvN drama slot that went slumped for years. Opening way for next best dramas there.

I just recently watched the Reply series as well as the Prison Playbook and Hospital Playlist and I must say they were all great masterpieces. I'm not Korean and never been yet to Korea but your works really touch my heart. The way you showed the bond between family, friends and lovers were all heartwarming. Every series you made left such a good impression and realization on my part. You tackled the reality of life in an entertaining, humurous yet exciting dramas. I really hope we could meet one day and personally thank you for giving us such wonderful dramas.

Hospital Playlist is his weakest I seen so far but it's better than any drama I seen since Prison Playlist. He cast good performers and not just models. His sense of editing is engaging but he scored highest in his use of unforgettable music. Introduced me to Kim kwang seuk.

replyseriesfans May 23 2020 5:17 am I've already watched reply 1988&1997 and now still watching reply 1994 and hospital playlist. Reply 1988 is the best drama of shin won ho PD. I watched reply 1988 because of the ratings. When I watched it, I could laugh a lot and cried a lot. I also realized that the plot was good. Actually I hesitated to watch hospital playlist because it's about medical drama that I really avoid. But since the ratings are good and Shin Won Ho PD did collab again with lee woo jung, I tried to watch. And the result is I enjoy it and still waiting for the last episodes.

I have watched countless dramas over many years and I can firmly conclude that Reply 1997, Reply 1988 and Prison Playbook are still my top 3 favourites. His works have such intricate story lines and multiple tear jerking scenes, and you can clearly see the special flair PDnim adds to make each drama stand out from the rest. His talent is definitely applaudable and I will continue to support PD Shin Won Ho and can't wait till his next work come out. Fighting!

I love every single bit of this TV series. The story line is so refreshing. The plot is cleverly done. The dark sense of homours is wonderful and offers such great entertainment. The scripts are thoughtful and the ethics behind it is so inspiring.

Every shot was filmed with beautiful photography. The actors are also congratulated for delivering their best performance. They made each charactors so real. Most of all, the credit should go to Director Shin Won-Ho. Your very clever and twisted scences totally enagaged the audience. You have certainly set a high bar for the Korean Film/TV industry.

I have been a big movie fan particularly alternative foreign films since young age from Hong Kong (now I have been living in Australia for over 20 years). I was only introduced to Korean drama a couple years ago although I heard how popular K dramas have become many many years ago. Only about two years ago, my sister convinced me to give it a try to watch one of the big hit K dramas. I was so impressed with the high standard and quality of the K drama production. I have been enjoying K dramas since then. But Prison Playbook is another level above that. Instead of typical romance type of dramas with pretty faces which are most popular these days, Prison Playbook has so much to offer to the audience. I really hope you and your team will keep up with your good work and I am so looking forward to your next production. Thank you once again!

KIM SKY Jan 28 2018 10:27 am Its not easy for a serial drama director to have an aesthetic feel to their work but this man takes the award. From his beautiful crafted Reply 88 to Prison Playbook, he is clearly one of the best. His sense of comedy and pathos are very rich. Reply 88 had every department shine brilliantly and remains with Misaeng, the best drama in recent years. Now with Prison Playbook, he is clearly a maestro at work. Kudos to the young writer.

And he can make the actor become very famous by starring in his drama. I think PD Shin should keep looking for new faces with good acting qualities as he has done so far, because that's what makes him special and become one of a great PD.

I was overwhelmed by the families' kindness and care toward each other. You also chose the right casts for this drama. They portrayed their roles very well. Like how Hye Ri, Bo Gum, and Dong Il, acted strong but hurt inside (I still cry for the first two episodes). I hope later you would direct many good dramas with moral values like Reply 1988. I will patiently wait. Ah, and you are working with one of the best writer, please say my thank to her. Writer-nim, thank you for your detailed work.

Sasi May 02 2017 3:47 am Dear Director, reply 1988 is the best kdrama i have watched. The story connects so much to our lives that i couldnot get out of the drama. Though i feel happy for Teak and Dukseon, I feel so bad for Junghwan. I only feel emptyness(loss) for Junghwan. After all you could have shown them a reunion will all their families and meeting each other on Teak's birthday as they usually do(in their elderly age). Then seeing Junghwan happy might not left any pain in heart for the viewers. This is solely my view. Hope you come up with much more loving dramas. Fighting!

I loveeeee all the cast, I love the plot, I love the story, I love everything in it. I am so looking forward for next season. It may caused pressure to you, but I do hope the next series would be greater than reply 1988. I also hope you can cast actress or actor wisely. Fightingggg Director-nim!!!! :D

khai Jul 12 2016 2:22 am hi mr.pd. your drama, reply 1988 is the best drama i've ever watched.it's so hard to forget and let go from this drama.i keep rewatching and replaying the scenes for these whole 3 months. it's really my biggest guilty pleasure. i just want to tell u that this drama also unforgettable for millions people out there because if u check out on utube, everyone still can't move on from this amazing drama.genius. all the actors and actress suit the characters perfectly. rewatch value : 1000000 out of 10!

I am not Korean , but even so all the world miss those times .. personally I would rather reading to be attached to the Characters and share with them there mind and feeling , so rare of directors who could steal the heart of spectator and care of many details to give this perfect work as real as possible .. thank you and the hole team ,, so appreciated efforts . respect for all .

But anyhow, this guy has evolved directing in SK because the actors he casted and eventually directed became outstanding actors despite their backgrounds. He has a gift in foretelling potentials!!
