Joo Eun-Ho (Shin Hae-Sun) is an unknown announcer with 14 years of experience. She struggles for the chance to have her name recognized by the public. She also has another personality in her due to a deep wound in her heart. Her other personality is that of Joo Hye-Ri. Her other personality is super positive and works as a parking attendant.

Jung Hyun-O (Lee Jin-Uk) is an ex-boyfriend of Joo Eun-Ho and they dated for a long time, but broke up. He became a star announcer as soon as he joined the broadcasting station and he is the most liked announcer by the public, but he also carries a wound hidden in his mind that he has never shown to anyone. Somehow, Joo Eun-Ho and Jung Hyun-O reunite and help cure each other's wound.

in my opinion the plot is unique, the acting is also very good from all of the actors, but the ending could be given a much more wholesome finish not as abrupt as it is now.. it should show a more well-thought-out healing journey for Eun Ho..

Shita May 01 2025 8:47 am May 1, 2025 I just finished watching Dear Hyeri. If Shin Hye Sun is in it, it’s usually a great show and this one didn’t disappoint.

Here’s my quick insight: – The storyline was so unpredictable – But still really enjoyable, especially for someone like me who loves fresh K-Dramas – It made me laugh, feel warm, cry out of nowhere, and stay curious all the way through – Big applause to all the crew involved!

Please make a season 2! I absolutely loved the chemistry between Shin Hye Sun and Kang Hoon, hoping for more scenes or even another project with the two of them.

Once again, good job and congrats on this amazing show!

Minus the weak back story of the male lead, i like the cinematography, and how the lines and skinship makes me want to experience being with your special someone. It must be so comforting knowing there is one person you can go to whenever everything feels heavy.

They are really fit for each other. Despite the male lead's mistake, he really care for her subtlely after their breakup. And, within those years of being together, Eunho is dependent on him that she even asked herself how she was able to stay sane without him around. He's the one taking care of her household chores and is patient to her despite her personality. Because, let us be honest, Eunho wasn't really a green flag herself. She's somewhere in between red and green, but definitely not the kindest. So, they are the only ones who can tolerate each other.

Jia Mar 30 2025 6:25 am I keep watching until the end mainly because I want to know what would happen to the 2nd male lead (Kang Joo Yeon). I really like him. He deserves to be happy, whether it's with a girl or being alone.

But there is some frustrating part. The 1st male lead's character is so frustrating. They had been dating for 8 years. Why can't he openly tell his girlfriend his problem (about bearing the responsibility to his grandmothers), just like a normal adult would do with their long-term lover. Instead, he chose to "keep his problem himself" and put Eunho in an unnecessary pain. I know the point might be to show the audience that he also had a trauma that made him not functioning well like a normal adult. But I think the way the story told could be improved so that the audience can understand his irrational decision making better. There were scenes of his past childhood hurtful experience but there were not many that involved his way of thinking. As an adult, he was shown as a capable presenter and that's it. He could tell Eunho about his mother but why couldn't he tell her about the grandmothers and the reason he didn't want to marry? At the end of the episode, it turns out that Eunho is okay with his unusual family. He really should've told her sooner.

This show might want to show the audience about how 2 broken people can love and heal each other. But honestly I don't think it is the case in real life. If we don't heal ourselves, we couldn't expect others to heal us. There are many cases of "broken" people got married and expect their spouses to make them happy, but they failed. Why? Because when they don't heal themselves, they don't have the capability to make other people happy.

But at the end, it's just a drama. It's for entertainment, not an accurate source of education. Overall, this drama is quite okay. Shin Hye Sun is a great actress and I'll look forward to her next project.

Anyway, it's not that bad. I'm actually feeling excited when i started this because of how interesting the storyline is. The vibe or tone feels gloomy and serious, which i prefer, but its refreshing too. I like the cinematography, editing, and even transition that it feels like I'm watching a movie.

I don't understand why people here are complaining and making a fuss about how bad this show was when if you read the synopsis and looked at the cast, you would get an overall insight on how this show would progress. You all are hating this more than necessary.

This drama ain't for the noob and hopeless romantic who just want a smooth and light storyline. This literally portrays a character with mental disorder - DID. And, why ppl are expecting her to have the most optimal and rational decisions when she's mentally ill is beyond my comprehension. Also, hoping the female lead would end up with the 2nd male lead is like saying she should stay sick.

Eun Ho is the real character here, Hyeri is just her 2nd personality which is - her sister. A person with DID doesn't really know that they are switching from one personality to another depending on triggers and they are completely unaware of how each personality reacts and what they do when its dominating her body (they could also adapt another personality, but this series only showed 2 personalities).

Initially, Hyeri doesn't know that she's actually Eunho and it was the latter who met with a psychiatric doctor. Hence, she thought all those memories were just dreams and she believed she's sleeping 16 hrs a day. On the other hand, Eunho doesn't know that she has developed DID and is acting a different person after 4 pm.

The reason why its Dear Hyeri is probably to show how Hyeri was like an illusion or fantasy, that doesn't or shouldn't exist irl. The personality Hyeri would eventually diminished soon as Eun Ho is getting medication. So, her ending up with the 2nd male lead wouldn't make sense as Eun Ho doesn't love him, only Hyeri. Those of you all insisiting that she should just live as Hyeri are cruel and ignorant. Eun Ho is her real personality and Hyeri was just a symptom of her mental disorder. Her 2nd personality owning up her body could actually be dangerous for her. If she wasn't able to retrieve it, her DID could get worst if she ever got caught up in another traumatic experience, she could even develop another personality aside from Hyeri.

Lesson learned for future viewers? Do Not Watch This If You Don't Have Any Slight Idea About DID.

Despite the fact that she had split personalities and hyeri represented her sister, she never wanted to be an announcer. Yes she loved Hyun Oh but he left her so cruelly, was he facing his own trauma? Yes! But if you can leave your gf of 8years so easily then you don't deserve her. Light came into Hyeri/Eun Oh eyes after she connected with Joo Yeon and in the end I think they deserved to end up with each other. This has to be the first Shin Hye Sun's drama I absolutely loathe and I can't even bring myself to continue cause I'm so pissed and sad?. Rating it a 2/5 and only because Shin Hye Sun is still that babe and I love Joo Yeon's character. Again for the records I absolutely detest Hyun Oh's character, he's such a red flag! Cause why is he telling her she embarrasses him? Very inconsiderate character with a high ego.

However, except for “My Golden Life,” which is a favorite drama of mine, she always goes for unconventional and challenging roles, and “Dear Hyeri” is no exception. I deeply respect her relentlessness to push boundaries, and to hold cinema at the same high standards as a philosophical book or as a classical symphony, but at the same time, you can’t deny there is a barrier of entry to a drama like “Dear Hyeri,” which isn’t meant to be watched just casually, half an episode at a time, but requires all of your senses to be fully awake during many episodes, in order to find your way through a maze of artsy scenes. Often, I’ll be honest, I would get completely lost in this maze, and I would think to myself: “Please, Shin Hae-Sun, I beg you to also play in modest dramas for dumb viewers like me.”

Jillibean Nov 03 2024 12:29 pm (Spoilers) Eun Ho's mental illness was a split personality so it was obvious from the beginning (at least to me) that Hyeri would have to disappear in order for Eun Ho to have any chance of a normal life. I liked the ending and the story felt complete. I give it an A grade. Mental illnesses are always difficult to transmit to the screen. Hyde Jeckyl and I had the same kind of split reactions among fans, many loved it but others hated it. Hyun Bin gave an outstanding dual performance as two unique individuals in one body, one man suffering from DID. So does Shin Hae Sun give a brilliant performance in Dear Hyeri as the female lead. It takes top talent to make that work and be memorable.

Hyun oh deserves to be empathized as he came from super broken family. Mom left him. Dad was irresponsible gambler and drunkard. Do you guys remembered when the granny slapped him when he went to settle the debt. Does anyone ever help him? Do you aspect that kind of upbringing will help him to communicate real emotions? Real resentment? Or something heavy? Boy was traumatized but he just keep on living.

He has this fear of abandonment. That's why he always assumed no one will marry him cause, he was not taught to talk and he cannot face rejection (as he imagined Eun ho will do once knew about the his responsibility toward grannies) cause then he will have to face the person loved left him again so he left Eun ho first. He don't have the privilege to learn about expressing feeling and communicate difficult emotions.

All he did was serve. Serve the father paying debt serve the granny growing up serve Eun ho. That's is Hyun oh. He is broken.

But he did everything Eun ho asked in the first episode Will you saved me .... Yes twice Me or 9 pm news .... He chose Eun ho He did the chores too

He's not toxic , he did have red flag traits but he is not toxic. He was gentle and taking care of Eun ho in those 8 years

Writer was the one who's not able to deliver well about his character and his needs (therapy and self discovery) he is real he is imperfect

Bimini Oct 30 2024 11:35 am If you can make it through Episode 1, then the storyline becomes fascinating, and the full abilities of the leads is revealed. I'm not sure what the director was thinking to leave the lead role so unpalatable to the audience right from the get go. It makes it really easy to walk away from this drama, and it leaves the actors as easy targets for lazy watchers. This drama deserved far higher ratings.

just finished watching it and i love it!! Oct 30 2024 2:13 am I don't understand why people hate this drama and said it the worst drama. For me, I can clearly say this is a masterpiece and i totally understand why ministry of science and ICT is funding this drama because the moral of the story is consistent from the beginning till the end, to find happiness again, to always have somebody you can lean on and never be lonely. This is realistic drama that will show you the sign that you need help and I love how the characters are all finally deal with their traumatic past in such a healthy way. And for those people who still obsessed with how eun ho should have choose ju yeon and hate the overall drama just because of it, you should finish watching ep 11-12. Eun ho is such a wise women to suggest a good breakup, she know she can't be hyeri and she tried her best to not hurt anyone. And anyway, seems like ju yeon can finally opened her heart to hye yeon. Although i realized that hyun oh should have coming back earlier after 4 years, but i do know its part of the plot where past trauma can triggered mental disorder and anyway hyun oh are secretly caring for her in the workplace and coming back again in the right time when eun ho need him the most, when her panic attack coming back. It also takes time for Hyeri to accept him back after giving herself some time to reflect alone, so it really is a well made decision.

For the first time in my life I actually feel that the scriptwriter and director should quit their jobs. And Ju Yeon was interrupted by Hyun Oh All The Time. Hyun Oh is just a rude person. And Eun Ho accepting such behaviour (she is no angel herself) makes me glad that Ju Yeon is not with her. She doesn't deserve someone as kind as Ju Yeon.

Psychology or not who wants to go back to whom every brought out the mental disorder and distress in themselves, no one believe me. After all that nonsense of going to the forest and getting healing I expected better not this foolish ending. The FL dramas have been a masterpiece for me but Samdalri and This is off on my list. She should pick better scripts cause this is off her character even if she wants to diversify her roles.

Both made stupid decisions in the past, but actually loved each other. Nothing toxic, just stupid. I'm sure y'all don't understand us who hate it too. But it's kind of weird to assume our relationship experience because of it, coz frankly, if I'm going to do the same, then I'd assume y'all stuck in a toxic relationship (you couldn't see it (yet)) or can't move on from an ex.

Anyways, I'm not solely criticizing the relationship of the lead couple, but how it's written (the drama overall, including the supporting characters). The writer only knows how to write conflicts (exaggerated ones, of course it's a drama, not reality but some here are comparing it to reality and debating that's why us who don't like it, don't like it because it's portraying harsh realities).

Yes these conflicts can happen in real life, but the mash up of these things here is just so like whatever. Okay, let's do a mental health thing, workplace conflict, let's romanticized codependency, toxic relationship, etc. Let's even throw a side story about fwb, an accident cliffhanger but different person gets injured, it's just a mess. Let's get back together, our 8 years (dishonest, power imbalance, lacks respect, codependent) "loving relationship" is enough for us to get back together coz we truly love each other. No need to see character development, conflict resolution, let's just be cheesy, kiss and call it a day.

I'm not against stories about ex's getting back together, there are good ones there, kdrama, western dramas etc. but it's good when it's written properly. I've watched dramas where they even lost a child, on the brink of divorce, the writer shows how it affected them, how the relationship falls apart, how you'll hate both of them, but empathize with both of them as well. How they apologize, mean it, change, yada yada. I actually can't rewatch those coz they're brutal, very much like reality, but Dear Hyeri is just bad

Anone Oct 29 2024 8:01 am You can tell who hasn’t been in a long term relationship by reading comments about Eun Ho and Hyun Oh ? Here are the fact: main female lead and main male lead are both flawed people, but they were very good for each other when they were together. All of those scenes depicting their relationship were Happy. They loved each other deeply. And they still do, even though they are broken off. Hyun Oh took care of her on the down low, and she was the one who was ok with not being married until she wasn’t. He gave her that boundary from the beginning. And when he realized she was wasting her years bc he wouldn’t want to get married, he broke off with her to let her find her happiness, not realizing the emotional break he would cause. He told her to be sick so that he could take care of her. So that he would have an excuse to. Hyun Oh is basically a good guy who is flawed. People slinging words like red flag is using that ham-fistedly. Is he perfect? No. But he’s a good person and he was a great boyfriend. And she has known him 12-13 years, and lived with him 8. And has loved him that long.

ML2 being in absolute love with Hye-Ri without knowing anything about her — that’s one of those Prince Charming type of fairy tales. Projecting that he would be happy with Eun Ho is another fairy tale. You don’t know if their personalities will go well together, specially as Hye-Ri is Not Eun-Ho. He has his demons and she has hers. The fact is she was very happy and very in love with Hyun-Oh. And after Eun-Ho broke down and saw what the repercussions of breaking off their relationship did to her (which, in his own words, he thought they would be together forever, so he did not want to let her go) him going to the therapist shows us how he overcame his hang up about Eun Ho meeting the grannies. He did not want to burden her with the responsibility he’s paying off, he loved her, but now he realizes that he loves her more than that and wants her in his life.

This show is more realistic and less romance fantasy where you the viewer are designed to swoon over the ML. Each character here is flawed and has a lot of baggage, but with one absolute fact — Eun Ho and Hyun Ho have always loved each other.

Eun oh She has low self esteem and lonely. she grew up without parents and has to be taken care by the grandma. She has no role model in choosing love life due to no parents figure in her teenage years (at least that what psychologically happened). She heard the uncle and aunty hesitate to take her and the little sister…end up thinking burdening the grandmother whom she lives with. Those are few reasons why she is who she is and that’s why theres a scene where eun ho wanted to make money and live elsewhere when the real hyeri says “why dont we just stay with grandma”. Eun ho have this mindset ’i dont want to be a burden’.

Due to that mindset, she technically wants real hyeri to be more independent and to be more outgoing and mixing with friends. Thats why she is so adamant to make real hyeri join the trip. Eun ho is being hard on herself and imposing her thinking on her sister as well.

When she finally be in a relationship with hyun oh. She dumped all of her insecurities, life, hope, love, contentment, love, trust literally EVERYTHING to him because she has super duper low self esteem. She doesn’t feel worthy by herself but there is hyun oh who show interest to her. Taking care of her. Be there with her. He becomes the parents the lover, the soul of eun ho. Imagine have to act all mature and suddenly….there’s a guy who love you and finally you can depend upon. many women are like eun ho. Thats why you can see in real life men who cheat, abuse mentally verbally or even physically are often given more than second chances.So compared to hyun oh who has been soft to her during the 8 years and doing all the chores and gave her to act cute and girly basically became her guardian, it is IMPOSSIBLE for her to move on especially with the self hatred and guilt that she deeply feels of making her sister gone. Hyun Oh is her drug i would say.

Hyun Oh Basically a guy with insecurities of being abandoned. He grew up in a total chaos and feels indebted to the creditors that growing fond of him. Never had a chance to express his resentment towards his parents and continue find his purpose by taking care of people; the grannies, the moon sibs and now eun ho. He feels he is at his best when he serving people but never able to brave enough to face difficult conversations. His word when he felt ‘embarrassed’ of eun ho after saving her i think is because he was triggered. He thought he did great but he was not appreciated bc eun ho say “dont ever come again” eun ho so he ws trying to provoke eun ho by his harsh words instead of saying he is worried about her. Just like how lot of relationships are. Thats why he said he is embarrassed but he is able to step down from his 9pm anchor jon to save eun ho. So to say hyun oh is bad, hebis just real man with a lot of insecurities and a lot of unresolved issues and Lots Of Men Are Like Him or worst still given chances so its the reality.

I Am Not Trying To Say We Have To Agree To What They Choose To Do But Im Stating This Is The Harsh Reality.

Btw, below are my suggestions if writer want to make a drama not a reality show cause now dear hyeri is like a reality show.

1) The story should make 14 episodes where emphasise how clinical psychology and psychiatry works on both eun ho and hyun oh. Becasue eun oh is anxious attachment,hyun oh avoidant type so the dynamics should be touched deeply

2)Hyun oh and eun ho should apologise to each other instead of only profess love for each other.

3)Im okay they are getting back together but they should do the no (1&2) firstly

For me, a good drama have a interesting problem or a difficult situation to overcome And that the problem is resolved or if not a good open ending.

In this case, it actually have a good problem, it's the Did, toxic relationship, dishonesty within the relationship, career, career imbalance/dynamics, codependency, family trauma etc.

8 years of keeping secrets, and just get back together coz they still love each other W/O resolving, showing character development, I mean how will the character development be shown, if most of the episodes are spent on the problems and just 2 episodes left for the resolution.

But then the writer, out of nowhere, since the writer doesn't know how to write good resolution part of the story, would just play the accident card. It's so stupid.

Haeri Oct 27 2024 4:51 pm Eun Ho (FL) knows who she loves. She pines over Hyun Oh (ML) and doesn’t know Ju Yeon (ML2). It would be foolish to choose Ju Yeon unless she really wants to live as Hyeri.

Ju Yeon’s love for her is skin deep. He loves her because he sees himself in her therefore unknowingly loves himself more than he loves her.

Hyun Oh, however, is unpopular with viewers because he is the traditional old time male lead. He loves the girl and watches over her but rarely displays it. The audience think he is selfish because he left her but he thinks he did it for her happiness. Realising he was dragging her on he decided to break off immediately even though he really loves her. To him that’s his way of love. His mistake is not to tell her his situation and let her choose. His is a chauvinistic love.

Eun Ho’s character was written with a little inconsistency. She seems to be very confident in the earlier episodes but eventually unveiled as one who really needs to rely on the person she loves. In this sense, ML is a good fit in the long term (he encourages her to stand on her feet) but ML2 will eventually be lacking (maybe not for Hyeri but certainly Eun Ho).

With more experience the writer will have a more convincing story.

Yes I had a deal with the grannies but they never told him to date and not marry , he saw them as a burden he wasn't willing to share. His other adopted siblings are having lives , why did he make himself out like that. It's e beautiful and educative drama on mental health but this plot isn't it for me.

But if you really like a toxic behaviour main lead, toxic relationship between female lead & male lead, then you can go for it. And if you thinking this drama focusing on mental health issue (in this case is DID) & how to cure it, you will be 100% get a disappoinment. Because this drama is only focusing on toxic love from the main leads. The only better characters are second & third male lead, and second female lead with their working place. Besides that, even main lead workplace is full of toxic people (except third male lead). Even you will get an assumption that you can cure DID easily in the name of toxic love, which is I won't recommend this drama to any DID patients out there. The writer really romanticizing toxic person's love.

And be careful *BIG SPOILER* : Even male lead only want to marry female lead because his grannies want to him to get married, and because the male lead only know about female lead's DID from second male lead. Before that, the male lead didn't really care about female lead at all, even asking female lead to keep get sick.

So risk it at your own if you want to still watch it & get stressed because how writer messed this drama's potential^^

If not the characters, at least we, the viewers, can discuss toxic relationships and human flaws. (is the understatement of the year with this drama) Both male and female leads are incredibly toxic, making it so hard to root for either of them, or care about their character arc. The writer seems lost, as the plot meanders without direction, and it feels like they're making it up as they go. Relies too heavily on flashbacks, seemingly to rekindle the characters past love and evoke an emotional connection with the audience. However, it falls flat and ultimately misses the mark. There are too many unnecessary characters, adding clutter instead of depth. The long, dragged-out dialogue only makes the pacing worse, and the camera shots seems like an attempt to be artsy. Overall, it's a frustrating watch. Please do not engage.

It was somewhat interesting in the first few episodes but completely falls off.

They elongate scenes so long that it feels like they just didn’t have enough shots and had to fill the time. There’s sooo many flashbacks I feel like don’t explain anything. Shin Hae-sun’s character is so annoying. It kind of reminded me of Welcome To Samdal-Li’s FL when she was crying like crazy. I don’t know if she was written to be that annoying, but I guess she succeeded at that.

Also why are all the girls in the office so desperate??

The writer is so frustrating. Why would they push for a toxic relationship with Hyun O? Eunho deserves better, and all these actors deserve better characters and storylines.

I'm so sorry for Lee Jin Wook, who returned to the romance genre with a trash character like Hyun O. The background story of his character failed to make us sympathize with him and just made us hate him even more. I bet not a single viewer is supporting him, which proves how poor the writing of this drama is by forcing him as the main lead.

I'm also sorry for Shin Hye Sun, who, with her amazing acting skills, has to portray the foolish Eunho, who keeps returning to the man who hurts her again and again. I know this is totally possible in real-life toxic relationships, which can even make someone mentally sick, but watching it just frustrated me to Death.

The only good thing the writer did was create a strong second lead, Kang Hoon's character, Juyeon. But then they decided to totally mess up this kind soul? Oh gosh... Honestly, I'm still watching the second half of this drama only for him. Just like everyone said, if Eunho doesn't end up with him, then this drama is total trash that doesn't deserve your time. I hope Kang Hoon will be cast in a better production next time with a good character AND a good storyline because he totally deserves it.

Last but not least, there are so many unimportant side characters. Jion got me hyped in the first episode but then had zero impact on the story development. I feel so sorry for Kang Sang Joon.

There are still two episodes left, but it seems like there's no hope left for this drama. Most viewers must have left already, especially since the tenth episode is a total turn-off.

When he find out about her disease, he didn't run away (didn't make a drama because of Jung Hyun-O), he wanted to find her, to know both of her personalities, to help her. When Jung Hyun-O saw Eun-Ho in very bad mental state, he used this situation, kissed her without permission. Played with her feelings and later again abandoned her. When Jung Hyun-O heard that she is ill, that she has a relationship with other guy he was thinking only about being cheated, his pride. Eun-Ho never was number one priority in his life. He doesn't deserve her.

Before I used to think that Hyun Oh was very toxic, but evaluating his situation, I do believe that he did mistakes, but I wouldn't describe him as toxic. As shown when they were dating, he was a good bf and his only red flag was his refusal to marry, which is a huge deal for most women. The way he broke up with her was terrible as well. Another huge mistake is when he told her that he was embarrassed of her, so he says hurtful things that he doesn't mean. But I can understand his fear from marriage and his desire to not drag someone else in his situation. This problem could've easily been solved if he was honest and open with Eun Ho. I think now he realizes his mistakes and can move forward to be a better bf for Eun Ho and possibly marry her as well. Also, he has a deep desire to fix her. On the other hand, Ju Yeon seems like another character that needs therapy. Bro realized that Hyeri isn't real and just a symptom of her illness, yet he wants Eun Ho to keep Hyeri for him. He doesn't love her and doesn't deserve her, though I do like him a lot and think he's a nice guy. It's like loving a girl who went bald because of the chemotherapy and telling her that you really love her bald hair and never want her to grow her hair again. He had hurtful things happening in his life that's why he keeps clinging to Hyeri even when he knew she wasn't real.

In contrast, Hyeri and 2nd ML’s story is distant and not realistic, just like Hyeri who is not a real personality. I like how the serious issue has gotten a fluff treatment, almost comedic in Hyeri’s moments but there’s too many scenes involving unimportant side characters as the drama moves on. I’m also disappointed in the 1st ML’s granny story. It is a far departure from the script and directing style of the earlier base stories.

Ep 5 was done very badly (the directing! The edits!) compared to the earlier episodes which were very good. Hoping that there will be an improvement from ep 7.

There’s lots of supporters for Hyeri + 2nd ML but it tends to be from very young demographic. The original couple’s story hurts but the reason why he refused to marry her, aka his background and responsibilities is just too unconvincing. The whole story of him and the grannies is overly fictitious (partially a directing misstep) that it contrasted too starkly with the rest of the well done show.

I’ll give 5 out of 5 for ep 1-4 while 5 and 6 are a fail. Haven’t watched the rest so still holding out for a turn for the better.

The air-head Joo Eun-Ho before she broke up with Jung Hyun-O. And the depressing Joo Eun-Ho after she broke up with Jung Hyun-O. Baek Hye-yeon is fun too.

She is just living and talking like her dead sister and also trying to fulfill her sister's dream of working in a broadcast station parking lot. I don't think she is completely immature because she sometimes acts and makes sound decisions if anything the writer is staying true to Hyeri's image of not being mentally sound

They are hiding their relation, plus the grannies like they're some kind of underground mob, drug dealer, criminals. I hope in the end EunHo doesn't end up with HyunO/their family.

I'm kinda rooting Hye Yeon, surprisingly to me, she seems to be the most "normal" here, doesn't complicate things (too much) I wish her a happy ending (like love, not fwb), but I don't think I'd like it to be with JuYeon

EunHo/Hyeri, HyunOh & JuYeon needs to step back a little, think rationally, breath and maybe just move on.

I'm for honesty, transparency but outing her DID to HyunOh, I didn't like that. I know it happens, but people shouldn't be disclosing one's sickness (unless it's emergency). So weird, they kept secrets that I feel like shouldn't be secrets BUT expose information they shouldn't.

Idk, I think this drama is very baiting (it's working, I'm commenting like the rest), but I'd rather have a well written drama (for the sake of story, not baiting) than something like this, for the hype, for the talk. I probably should have watched this when it's finished, maybe after a year.

Will there be enough episodes though, to cultivate romantic relationship b/n the 2nd leads?

I really like EunHo & JuYeon to end up together, but I don't think it'll happen by this rate. And kinda disappointed by JuYeon during their conversation, idk, I know he's heartbroken but it's okay as long as Hyeri comes back, like what, he's supposed to be smart, no? It's giving, please be sick.

So maybe just an open ending for everyone, ugh. I had high hopes.

With a male lead who's a hypocrite, rude, and has a whole episode dedicated to him while it doesn't support the plot, this drama is not it. You already know who she's gonna end up with. I can't help but be overly annoyed with her second personality she is extremely childish and has odd mannerisms, making every second corny.

Wow-- one of the top 5 2024 dramas so far. Head and shoulders above all trite rom-coms that have been so prevalent. A Serious slice of life drama for adults about inter-relationships within the broadcast news biz. Top notch actors and acting. Cinematography is off the charts inventive, yet not distracting. OST is very nice as backdrop to any given scene's action.

contrary to most of the comments appearing, there is nothing boring or tedious about any of the very real and very intense relationships. Hooray for the group that produced  this Great project. This is not a feel- good romance, though love is involved.   It is Deep. It will take many episodes to tell the full story.

But episode 5 got me confused and wondering how their 8 year relationship gone to waste without them talking about their issues. I want Hyun Oh to heal from his self struggles but I’m leaning towards Joo Yeon and Hyeri/Eun Ho ending up together and heal together. I hope the next episodes will be worthwhile to watch.

Also, who is she sleeping with, someone high up, I suppose, but wonder who.

Also, isn't it too shallow for the ML to not want to get married just coz of her grandmas? He didn't even asked Eunho if she can't handle it or not, he decides on his own.

For an 8 year long relationship, it's weird they don't know each other, kept many important secrets/part of their lives with each other. How exactly are they going to heal each other (per written synopsis unless only written to confuse or avoid spoilers of the true plot).

Weirdly, seems common in kdramas, kind of a plot hole too coz often in kdramas, they don't explain how certain things were kept hidden, just expect to accept, or is this normal, and I just don't get it coz of cultural differences?

I mean the ML is very strange, well let's say he has a lot of responsibilities, namely his grandmothers that he has to support. But in 8 years of dating, have they never talked about it at all? Then what is the character of the 2nd ML actually? he is much better and it is clear here he starts to open up to be a better person thanks to hye ri. he is also a sincere person and involves hye ri in his daily life. how can the 2nd ML be better than the ML?

Writer-nim, you really hurt me if you make Ju Yeon sad and heartbroken. He has opened his heart, why should he be abandoned again :(

What started as an interesting story about a character with a quirky alter ego has morphed into a dull, rehashed drama about lovers trying to reconnect. No doubt it is difficult to find the balance between depicting DID as an illness and the need to make your drama fun to watch.

Hyeri said that she doesn't want herself gone but subconsciously it's actually Eunho who doesn't want to give up on Hyeri and Keeping Hyeri alive is what makes her happy and survive this life. That's why Hyeri keeps appearing as her other identity after a deep sleep. In order for her to heal and move on, she must accept that her sister is gone. It was not her fault. It was an unexpected event that nobody even Eunho could have either expected or prevented. But of course, it's not easy to move on. It takes time. She needs to forgive herself.

In many scenes that were rendered mute without any sound, I was holding my breath; the director really knows how to make the audience feel the silence in such crucial scenes. I hope the writers are brave enough to explore the interesting story between juyeon and hyeri instead of continuing the same old cliche story of eunho and hyun-oh. hopefully, this kdrama doesn't end up like other mid kdramas where the plot goes downhill because the writers just stick to the same plot.

Instead we will see Joo Eun-Ho reconcile her relationship with Jung Hyun-O. This is unfortunate because after two episodes Hye Ri is the more engaging character and would likely lead to more original drama. This is probably not a fair assessment after only two episodes, so hopefully the show is great and I'll eat my words in the end.
