"Find Me in Your Memory" depicts a love story between Lee Jung-Hoon (Kim Dong-Wook) and Yeo Ha-Jin (Mun Ka-Young).

Lee Jung-Hoon works as an anchorman at a broadcasting station. He has hyperthymesia, a condition that allows him to remember nearly every moment in his life. Meanwhile, Yeo Ha-Jin is a top actress. She has forgotten her past. Due to this, she lives as she pleases.

There are some in which the plot, writing, directing, and/or acting cause me to tap out early

While FMiYM has certainly flirted with that line a few times... with the arrival of episode 24 (12), it is fully breached

Which is unfortunate as the core cast is solid and a few of my favorites from other far more stellar drama series really get handed some ham-fisted dialogue to deliver

After watching the Along With the Gods saga, I was looking forward to seeing KDW in a leading man role.

And while it's a much more muted performance, he manages to make the character feel more lived in as the story unfolds.

The camera clearly loves MKY. And while she doesn't do anything to detract from the role. The choice of the writer and director to have the character speak like an adolescent and act like one (all big eyes and mouth frequently opened in surprise)... and to run about rather obliviously even when the stakes are both high and recognized as such... leaves me rather baffled.

And calls to mind more than one characterization of Lee Sung Kyung's. Whose similar expressions can easily take me out of whatever story I'm watching.

Fortunately, our FL manages to overcome these deficits and offer a fleshed out performance that's quite engaging.

At the end of the day, what made me drop the show... when I was fairly close to finishing it... was the lack of agency that was being forced upon Ha-Jin. The disregard for her personal growth. And the infantile way her condition was being managed by those around her. Be it by the sister or either member of the father/son neurology team.

Who... despite being fully aware that she could recover her memories at any time... chose to embrace and encourage her forgetting rather than doing the consistent work to help reconcile the past and find meaning in the recovery process.

The "just forget the past... however recent"... type of response to the subplot where history repeats itself, only with a different character was absolutely ridiculous.

And yet, I held out hope that this would just be a temporary lapse in judgment as things settled back down.

Unfortunately, the illogical and unethical plot points kept stacking up and became to hard to ignore.

Making this another story with an interesting premise that gets squandered. Which is a real shame as I enjoyed a fair bit of it.

Robin Edmonds Feb 18 2025 2:09 pm As a recent convert to asian output, I find watching quite interesting. seeing the differences between our cultures and the way romance is handled. Yes, the standard of writing did seem to drop off mid season, but the ending wrapped everything up nicely. I thought the leads had good chemistry, I really choked up a few times whilst watching. Got me right in the feels, so to speak. This will go down as one to watch again, but I have so much more to catch up on. One of the benefits of retirement is that I can binge watch several episodes per day.

I mostly enjoyed this drama for it's mature directing and dialog but suffered greatly from a second half slump.

Now sometimes, there is a certain element of of a show's theme that will keep me from ever rewatching. In this case, it was the spotlight on Korean cancel culture. Every single time either character was criticized by the public it was over the most outrageous reason. And that those public opinions would lead to people losing their jobs, and sponsorships, or owing penalty fees, just really made me sick. I take this stuff a little harder now since the death of Lee Sun Kyun.

In the US, you gotta be a real piece of work to get "canceled" and even then, you can almost always find a subset of people who will side with you.

And for the record, I don't see it being uncommon in any culture for a man and woman to come together through a shared tragedy. It may be initially off putting to those CLOSEST to them and the deceased, but certainly not a matter for public shaming and job losing.

Ok but also, the couple got boring towards the end. No passion at all. And the "Anchornim" was addressed several times and the writers still chose to have her keep calling him that. Very cringe.

nac Oct 26 2023 3:43 pm as someone who loves mature romance or mature love story, this one is a gem! the story between two adults who struggle with their own issues and try to find a way to solve it together. its realistic, heartwarming and it also has many moral lessons. i love how this drama realistically shows us about the dark side of entertainment industry: rivalry, media play, obsessive fans, etc.

the age gap between two casts kinda reminds me to kdrama 'my ahjussi' and 'mr sunshine'. idc much about age gap since they all are adults. the main leads nailed their roles. i love their chemistry! female lead might be kinda childish, but its understable. and for whoever said kim dongwook isn't main lead material, sorry you're wrong. he is and he will always be. kim dongwook is so charismatic! xx

Xxx Jul 29 2023 1:04 am I really love this drama. I admit it that its not typical romance drama that most people love and not many people like the slow plot drama. But I love the way it is. From the choice of the main leads. I cant imagine anyone become anchornim and Yeo Ha Jin other than Kim Dong Wook and Mun Ka Young. And their chemistry is so outstanding. Their chemistry is exploding even they rarely having skinship. And I love their relationship in the drama. Just the type of relationship that I want to have. The story, even its obvious story but I still enjoy watching it. I discovered this just because I didnt have any drama to watch back then but didnt expect I would end up rewatching this drama many times, even watching it before sleep because it becomes my healing drama.

I couldn't really feel the chemistry between the main leads, they looked like big brother/little sister to me, and her 24/7 aegyo voice with his formal speech, made their interactions that much more awkward to me. They both did a great job with their characters (so no hate on the actors) but I didn't like them together for the romance.

Park Min May 09 2023 1:37 pm Never seen a drama with a good start but flopped so hard and fast. As if there were two completely separate writers. Most of the story was packed in the first 2-3 episodes (out of 16) while the rest were almost filled with nothing. The reason behind the last episode being a time skip is because there was no content left and they had to air something for the 16th episode. Another major irrecoverable mess up were the characters. The villains had zero effort put into writing them. The female lead took the "stupid female lead" trope to a never seen before levels. Also, poor chemistry with the leads. In general, the drama progressively gotten worse with every passing minute without ever recovering. That's impressive!

The actors did a great job and the FL and ML are really natural that one might think they've dated for real. I relate to the story personally, so it moved me and gave me perspective. Most importantly, it was a great comfort. I didn't like that none of the patients' medical histories were protected from the get go (Tae Eun had already disclosed Anchor Lee's illness while counselling her many years ago). I really fell in love with this drama. I totally recommend. You won't regret giving it a chance.

I loved the 2nd lead couple and the 1st leading couple just brilliant. Cute, sweet, great chemistry and superb acting in a very natural way.

I also liked the statement in this drama: not to abandon doggies and the plee to adopt these lovely creatures and to give a warm home! I liked that a lot, heartwarming statement.

Definitely a 11/10 to me, i can call it a masterpiece!

I normally don't like to rebuttal a comment that's been made but I feel the need to respond to Shelly who wrote that Kim Dong Wook is not a leading man material. He has been a leading actor for more than half of all the dramas he has made. He has won a Grand Prize award for his acting in, Special Labor Inspector Jo In 2019! Kim Seulgi's acting is very natural and good. Overall I find this drama and recommend to all.

I mean I've never expected K-drama's to adhere to every medical policy, procedure, etc., however he told his friend aka the ML point-blank everything about the FL and her medical history. In real life that would get you for sure fired, fined and/or jailed. Obviously healthcare workers know this but the general public isn't as aware.... I feel like that just made me partially dislike the drama due to either it's writers lack of knowledge or carelessness :(

This drama is not clingy type one but not also too complex. I didnt saw female leads character a deep one first but it is ,male lead gave me goosebumps through out,2nd couple is so cute, News ddirector ,psychiatrist roles were also awesome

Kim Dong Wook is nice enough, same in You are my Spring, but he is not leading man material. He’s never going to be a heart throb, he’s just an ordinary Mr Nice Guy. Mum Ka Young is interesting and very beautiful, but too tall for her partner in this.

Not sure how to rate this - 5/10.

ABC Sep 26 2021 7:22 am This drama is not typical kdrama romance but for you who love a mature love story, I recommend this drama. The plot is just like other kdrama but we cant deny the chemistry between the lead couple!! Been watching kdrama for 20 years but their chemistry could be in the top 5 of the couples that I have watched. Kim Dong Wook & Mun Ka Young really bring their character alive and strong till people still call them Anchornim and Yeo Ha Jin even till now.

If you call this boring, remember, this is not rom-com, its melodrama genre.

It may excites some teen viewers but don’t think this drama impressed us the grownups. Sooo dull and slow. Can’t stand the lead female making ?? expression all the time and I don’t get it why she speaks and acted like a 16 year old girl. Her acting is soulless. Not sure whether I’m gonna finish the whole drama or not.

Admittedly, it would fill up pretty much any K-drama cliche bingo card made but it's well done and the lead characters have great chemistry. I was enthralled up until the end of this one. It has been more then a month since I finished it and I still miss it. I hope both of these leads get more chances going forward :)

I tell you it's been months since I last watch this drama but my head can't stop thinking of this drama at all especially when I always play the ost by Jooyoung repeatedly. I love the ost soo much, it fits so well with the storyline, very sad and tragic. The cinematography is amazing! The casts' acting are all astounding! If there's a movie like this I really wanted to see it!! This drama is totally recommended~!!

Watched several drama but couldn’t go through even 2nd episodes because got bored with the cliche childhood lovestory . But find me in your memory is a fresh air for me. Very similar background storyline except that in that KDrama, his sister died because of her while this one, the girlfriend died (Not really but) because of Hajin. Otherwise I feel like you must watch this one before "The Girl Who Sees Scents" because...It's funnier, scarier and more interesting.

Anne Feb 26 2021 6:30 pm I highly recommend this drama. It (slightly) reminds me of Suspicious Partner. Amazing on and off screen chemistry. In real life, they are so comfortable with each other, it's really cute. They really seem to guide each other well for their scenes.

They really portray their characters well. Jung Hoon is always composed and maybe somehow cold, but when it comes to his loved ones, he'll burst. The scenes with Seo Yeon's stalker are so GOOD, I've been repeating it over and over. Ha Jin is someone gaining success but she feels that something's wrong or missing while doing so. Ga Young did so well as usual :")

Jung Hoon and Ha Jin pushing each other away really break my heart. Even the smallest dialogues of rejection during the earlier episodes can break my heart because the chemistry's always there. It also hurts to see them fighting their battles aside from the romance aspect.

Also love the interior design and beautifully cut clothing it's so beautiful and uplifting. The characters in this story are wonderful, Ha Kyung is so cute she made me laugh at her antics when we need cheering up. Ty for this story♥

Both lead actor and actress deserved for best couple .Eventhough the gap age for the both lead actor/actress but they delivered it so good . Kim Dong Wook acting was so cool ,Mun Ka Yong very versatile actress and so beautiful. Mun Ka Young should deserve fr best actress. I wonder why Kim Seul Gi suppose act as Mon ka young elder sister that suit to her. Overall I like this movie so much and the song also . Hopefully they will be couple again..

I ended up binge watching this on Netflix for 7 episodes non-stop in a day. I really really really fall in love with the cast chemistry, be it the main roles or the supporting. Moon Ga Young is a new talent but she manage to play her role very well. Thank you for bringing out this kind of story to us, some people are still hanging to their past, not because they can’t move on, but simply because the past is what make them stronger ♥️

Who would have thought they had a gap more than 10 years? The chemistry was sooo good. One of the best drama 2020 for me. Even if I rewatch, it won't be bored. I have to say Ms. Mun is the main attraction of this show. Withput her, it would be a boring show. However, many times she shows her age which is too young for the timeline of the story.

The thing that made me coming to post here is this series really shows what pandemic do to the world. In the show we can see that there are almost no people around the casts. The city which is usually bustling with people also very vacant it looks loke a huge production stage that is suitable for apocalyptic movies, like zombies shows.

I really applaud the crews that present us with this entertainment when most of our time are spent at home.

I thought the amnesia and mental illnesses in general plots were too much but its different with this one. loved their chemistry and i just loves loved loved the main lead. never seen that actor before but I've to say that he has an amazing way of delivering his emotions. really enjoyed watching him. MimiFan May 18 2020 7:35 pm First episode of this drama was a bit dry but then the rest quickly became quite addictive, even though there were a lot of regular K-drama clichés in the script, simply because the three leads Kim Dong Wook (who reminded me of a young Yoochun Park), Moon Ga Young (whom I've loved since Mimi in 2014), and Kim Seul Gi, who is always fun to watch, were all so excellent in their roles that I could barely tear my eyes away and basically marathoned it over 3 days. All the episodes were only about 30 minutes long, so don't let the length of 32 episodes scare you, it's really like watching a typical 16 episode romantic comedy K-drama with eps lasting an hour each. The background music was also very nice in this, and of course I melted whenever they played Sung Si Kyung's hit song Two People.

I was attracted the way he smile, When he smile, he makes you melt and attracted to his charms. He should deserve more drama as a lead actor. I was sick of watching the same popular actor, everyone should shine. As for Moon K Young, I have been following her drama, and I prefer her character and personality which such a bright person and pretty.

Trying to watch the first two episode and I assumed this drama has a boring and slow plot but every week I constantly watched it and who knows it getting amazed. I love anchor nim & yeo ha jin character so much!!! They both potray the character very well. The last episode made me burst into tear because the fact that i will never get to see them anymore. Not gonna lie this drama will be the most beautiful kdrama for me. I just love all of it. From the cast, the plot & even the ost. It such a regret for anyone who skip this drama.

The other issues I have is visually the leads look mix and not because of their age difference. This makes it difficult for me to get into the story. Melonism May 03 2020 7:22 am Currently at ep.11: How should I describe the drama? uhh I'd say it has quite the vibe of A piece of your mind (Half of Half) plus a bit of Radio Romance. The plot was so-so, the script wasn't also something you'd stick around for. Apparently it's hard to watch the drama without skipping the some scenes because it's very slow paced and the events were pretty predictable. So what's the tableturner? I'd say it's the characters. You'd want to stick around to see the chemistry between Ha jin and Jung Hoon. Same goes with the supporting characters. Hands down for the casts who tries their best to give life to this drama amidst it being a bit boring. Ah, I also find their witty ments from here and there making it more like a rom com than of a melodrama. As per the makers, this is very unlikely for hyun jong writer, I'd say this scenario didn't bring the best out of her this time. I had high hopes for her since her debut work (Queen In Hyun's man).

I'm still rooting for this drama. I hope it goes well specially with the ratings. MBC should really up their work. Cable channels are now at par with then in terms of the ratings.

And it's not even legal to give your patient's counseling details to other people. His character is so ridiculous. The only reason I'm still trying to watch this drama because of Moon Ga Young (I liked her since EXO Nextdoor) and Kim Dong Wook ( A handsome and adorable ajusshi) also because of the cute loveline between Ha Kyung and Il Kwon.

Red Apr 24 2020 9:45 am It's been a while since i found a drama that made my heart flutter over such a simple act like smiling to your significant other.

Every element of this drama, both on and off screen wise, has successfully delivered genuine emotions to every scene the actors try to portray.

But there are two key points that majorly affect my judgment: 1. How Yeo Ha Jin & Lee Jeong Hoon are brutally honest to one another about pretty much everything from the get go. They discussed almost everything overtly and also were willing to give each other some space at times. It's a rarity in Kdramaland.

2. How Moon Ga Young & Kim Dong Wook have been consistently showering each other with genuine affection since the very beginning of the project, she didn't shy away from her senior, and even treat him with no awkwardness at all.

Really wish this drama would never end. ^^

I watched all 8 episodes within short period of time, and I didn't skip nor fast forward any episodes. That's a good sign for someone like me. I get bored very easily because I have very very high expectation watching (korean dramas and movies) too many Fantastic Great Script and Screenplay for almost 5 years now. Blame it all the directors - screenplay - writers - actor - actress and finally international fans who goes extra mile with providing English subtitles. Usual some selected korean dramas and movies seems to have a template where the story line and dialogues seems to be copy paste, including scenes. So I'm quite vary about watching anything that sounds similar or dragging, I would politely stopped watching and move to next drama.

I am definitely looking forward to next episodes to come...but for a change I hope it's not Dr Yoo Tae-Eun portrayed as Stalker. It will be a total waste of good performance and suspense. I hope it's someone close but a person who is close with the original stalker, like a friend/family/a fanatic fan. Then it would be more fun and interesting, as we try to connect the missing point/pieces and put the puzzle together. I hope Dr Yoo Tae-Eun is really showing his concerns, care and love for his childhood friend. And he wished to protect his friend from his father. I hope Jung Seo-Yeon is showed as a common family friend for both Dr Tae-Eun and Anchor Lee or maybe Dr Tae-Eun's sister.

As for Dr Yoo Sung-Hyeok, he doesn't look and show any concern, care and love for Anchor Lee Jung-Hoon. He's treating Anchor Lee just like a specimen of medical studies, there is no humanity in his words and action. Anchor Lee is his research project product, so Dr Yoo Sung-Hyeok is more worried in losing his medical specimen rather than a human being.

So, like you, I feel doc is this new stalker coz he saw HJ first, knew her first, fell in love with her first, and yet HJ only is interested in JH. I also think this drama is unusually good. Too bad its pulling low ratings coz I love sweet Ha Jin and dear sad Jung Hoon. And Taekwondo Sis is a plus in my books. Can't wait for the stalker to be revealed and for Ha Jin to remember her past. Getting closer to the answers though. Exciting!

It's my first time to watch them (the leads) in a drama (haven't watched any where they play the supporting roles). Their acting was refreshing. The story was not that unique but it will leave you restless in your seat. I totally recommend this drama since I'm not a love triangle fan. ?

Ha jin knows something about seo joons die. The doktor friend of jung hoon sends the stalker to seo joon and now to ha jin. That is why the stalker is obessed with jung hoons girlfriends. The doktor is jelaousy of jung hoon. So he wants him to be sad, because he knows, that jung hoon can not forget anything. I am so curiouse..(sorry for my english ^^)

Some people gives critics on based only in their real life acting, especially when it comes to their ages. when they don't know the real plot of the story. So it is like book who you are focusing only at the cover but you don't know the story flow. As s watcher also you should be open minded beyond the drama so that you can understand the story because it is also not real since its a drama. So I Am really believe on those actors&actresses who have big age gap but knows how to handle the situation.

So Focus on the story because that you will know...

•How they individually handle the situation (Especially Main Leads Actor&Actress) •How the director handle the plot of the drama since he/she risk to choose his/her main lead.

NOTE: •It is also a challenge within an actor&actress how can they handle it especially if they have huge age gap in real life.

Despite the plot is very slow i think this drama can make you wonder what will happen in the next episode. I love the hero and heroin character therefore i will keep watching it but maybe skip some unimportant scene.

xxabixx Apr 04 2020 11:42 am this drama is like a dream comes true for me. ever since i watched g.o.d-snowfall mv, i really wish watching kim dong wook in a romantic drama (with him as a lead oc!). and this drama (somehow) has similar vibe with the mv, the snow. it's a beautiful snowy day yet it's heartbreaking day for the couple. and it relates to the memory about their time together. so after the news of this drama broke out (and finally aired!) i was really happy. i haven't even watched kim ga young (i don't really know her works) but i came to like her too because of this drama. i really love kim dong wook here and the chemistry between the leads! love them!!

The main couple is oozing charm and sensuality : some of the best chemistry I’ve seen on screen. But even the most secondary actors, like those playing the anchor’s parents, which we saw only once or twice so far, are absolutely spot-on. Finally, the production is world class. Every camera angle is measured to perfection. Every little scene has its own background music or sounds entirely matched to its mood. The colours are amazingly vivid. I’m serious : even if you were deliberately looking for some flaw in this drama, you wouldn’t be able to find one.

The former besides the good leads & actors (i like nam ju hyun) i think the script too was exceptionally well written. As for the latter- this drama- both leads were really good in carrying out their characters which are of extreme opposite yet both withstanding the same pains & loss. Both sad & lonely in missing the demise of the same dear one. One nice & good story. Will be hwating for the next episode!

Yes, the female lead is sometimes annoying in a way that she's assuming the male lead's gestures, yet I love her acting.. her character is very unique... Actually they are the total opposite. I hope to see more twist on this drama and let them have a happy ending because they have endured a lot in the past.

She blantanly disregarded the wishes of the male lead and insuinated they were in a relationship because her pride was her when he said he didn't liker her. The male lead has been pretty patient and understanding but the female lead seems reckless. I dont know but her character irritates me, ignoring the wishes of someone is not cute or attractive, its uncomfortable and bothersome for the other person and she disregarded his feelings. I want to like this drama but I just cant get behind the female lead so far, she seems pretty vain and she reminds me of On Yoo Ri from VIP K drama ( you know the mistress). Just like On Yoo Ri, she acts all sweet and innocent and I hate women like that.. the ones who do the crime and pretend to be the victim.. ewww.. Hopefully the female lead improves but right now, I am just not feeling it. The male lead is cool although I am so tired of the overrused memory theme in K dramas.. If they do another drama with extreme memory or face blindness one more time, I Will Scream!!

In an era where modern shows try too hard to be original, going into all kinds of excess, it's a relief to see an enjoyably moderate, "back to the basics" romantic comedy, where each extreme is tempered and reconciled with its exact opposite, like ying and yang. He's a boy, she's a girl ; he's serious and uptight, she's light-headed and immature ; he likes dark ties with patterns on them, she likes light ones without any patterns ; he sits behind a news desk, she stands in front of a film camera... Call me stupid, but this kind of forgotten simplicity is a breath of fresh air for everyone. And God knows how much we need fresh air right now.

I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't decide to watch it but perhaps you want to wait til this drama ends because it's torturing me to wait a week for another new episode TAT. She's played really unlikable characters for the most part and played them well so at first I was a bit taken aback thinking of what I've seen her do so far. Hopefully this will be a bit more like, hmm, Gong Hyo Jin-channeling, as a good example of what I think would be lovely for this character if she can pull it off without seeming vapid! I'll give it a try since I am curious how she'll play someone not so much normal but not so b!tchy and petty and jealous and just immature as her other roles, the "pretty girl" who happens to be selfish and possessive and upset when any boy loves another girl set up too old. This is at least a bit different (though also common from the synopsis I don't take much heart in since they're usually full of errors/misleading)!
