Yeon Bo-Ra (Yoo In-Na) is a writer and she works under the pen name of Deborah. She is the author of a best-selling book about love and she is also famous as a dating coach. She has made lots of famous sayings as a dating coach and gained sympathy from the public. As Deborah, Yeon Bo-Ra is honest, witty, and popular with women. As Yeon Bo-Ra, things are different for her. She gets involved with Lee Soo-Hyeok (Yoon Hyun-Min).

Lee Su-Hyeok (Yoon Hyun-Min) works as a publishing planner. He is an unpredictable man. He is sometimes gentle and passionate to women, but sometimes indifferent and cold. Love is a difficult thing for him. He doesn't like Deborah, who talks like she knows everything about love, but he unexpectedly gets involved with her and faces a change in his life.

Meanwhile, Han Sang-Jin (Joo Sang-Wook) is the CEO of Jinri Publishing Company. He is Lee Su-Hyeok’s close friend and business partner. Han Sang-Jin is witty, smart and good-mannered. He is loved by everyone. He prefers to keep a freewheeling lifestyle, rather than a deep romantic relationship.

As where the male lead actor Yoon Hyun Min is fantastic in every one of his roles! He’s di very handsome, great actor! Anyway my friend suggested I stuck to watching it, get passed her foolish drunken and clinginess to the ex! So I started to enjoy it at about episode 8 and then found it to be better, lots of funny parts, sweet and romantic! The end was worth it! Very sweet! Great cast of very good actors and actresses!

You’ve got to have real mental problems to behave like she did after her break up! In real life, I’ve never met such a person after a heartbreaking relationship. Watching her was embarrassing as a woman! She’s got no dignity! No self respect! And of course, as the teaching goes, Pride comes before the fall! She was very arrogant and stuck up as a Love coach! So full of herself! The ex boyfriend , a real jerk, a looser! I love Yoon Hyun Min, great, natural, great looking actor! He’s role was very good! But I got fed up with the role of Deborah and her weak minded stupidity! And couldn’t keep watching this series! And please there was nothing funny at all in this series. Good cast of actors and actresses! But to me her role ruins it!

Shellz Apr 03 2025 11:38 am If you enjoyed Mad for Each Other then you’ll appreciate this story. It’s funny and quirky - deep and light hearted at the same time. All of the actors are compelling to watch and the story unfolds in a way that feels genuine and not forced. Both lead actors become more adorable as the story progresses. So give it at least 2 episodes to then really appreciate the ensuing comedy. Highly recommend watching it and maybe it will even help foster your own self-love and understanding - which is what the story is really about.

I read a few positive reviews and I was interested in the love coach topic so I decided to watch it, thinking it would be full of insights and good advice. Omg... this drama is so cringe. Deborah is a raging alcoholic and handled her breakup like she was clueless even though she's supposed to be a relationship coach and author on the topic. But out of all the characters, she was the least cringy so don't stop reading, it gets worse. Her friend the married woman loves her husband wayyyyy more than he likes her. She is basically his sugar mama at this point while he is just living his life and treating her like a roomate. She craves more romance but he is just not that into her, and rightly so, their dynamic is so off. In one episode she buys herself a luxury bag with her own money but jumps through hoops to justify it and pretends it's fake at first so her husband wouldn't know she spent her own money on herself... seriously, it's sad. Then when she breaks down and admits it was an expensive bag, she pretends that her husband bought it for her in front of their friends. That is super sad. Last but not least, the cringiest character of all... the young office worker U-ri. She acts and behaves like she is clinically retarded. She latches on her boss, buying him gifts and asking him out, then waiting around for him like a puppy dog. I can't even describe how unnattractive her character is, and any man would agree that they would Not want some dumb inexperienced young girl to confess her love to them, even less if the man in question is her way older Boss. It was just the cringiest thing I've seen in a long time. Please, if you watch this show don't follow the characters or replicate their actions, that is not how you form a healthy happy relationship.

Consistent oDDity Oct 19 2024 12:07 pm I'm only on ep 3, but something I noticed in the first 2 episodes were the really long one shots. In ep 1 the two main guys were walking around, talking, then arguing, then a little fighting, then one slowly exiting, all in one shot, one take. I noticed it in episode 2 well. It's a refreshing style, to know how hard everybody had to work for such a scene yo come through. I love it and will continue too look for these shots in throughout the series.

DramaGirl Jun 05 2024 11:49 pm I actually found myself loving this drama. It felt so real, especially in that it wasn't playing so much into a fantasy that we create for our own love lives. It was relatable in that sometimes things just don't work out. It was relatable in that you do sometimes find a great guy but even then they do things that make you question everything. It was so real in portraying marriage and divorce, showing that everyday isn't perfect but it's truly about overcoming. I really appreciated the cut throat attitude in each episode. There was no time wasted to be honest. I'd see the preview from the previous episode and then in the next episode about 10 minutes in we're seeing the scene. The chemistry wasn't off the charts between the FL and ML but it all was realistic, heartwarming, sad at some points, but very inspiring in the least. Anyone young or older with a love life could take some great points from this drama, which I oddly found myself with a notebook writing and enjoying. I was so relieved to finally find a drama that didn't make the actors break up and be apart for 3 useless episodes. It was to the point and kept me hooked all 14 episodes. I would even say it wasn't long enough, but to each's own. Nevertheless great watch 10s across the board.

Rene May 29 2024 10:46 am I'm rewatching this drama because i'm going through a break up phase. As a woman, breaking up phase is ugly. As seem as the drama picture, it's like never ending of falling. Especially when the reason of breakup due the betrayal or one sided decision. I was ill physically for a moment, just like what happened to Bora. I took some cold medicine to get through it. So, it may be cringe one the intro episode, but falling in love is really cringe tho in reality. So, it feels like hugged by Bora.

As a woman tho, the male characters have the real dialogue. Somehow, it's not everything about their ego. Maybe, it's kinda manipulate but it sounds so real you can tell they are kinda sincere... Even Bora the expert kinda confused.

I can see some people have some part that they don't like. For me, i get used to separated the formula of kdrama, the reality part and the fantasy part just for the plot. Everybody know, one episode before the last they will add plot twist, anything. So, just enjoy the sugar.

Violet Jul 31 2023 3:37 am First of all, this drama is good and realistic. It tells about the difficulties of going through a breakup. I have been there too and I could totally relate to the female lead. I teared in some episodes because it felt so real. The script was good, it was well-written. I love writing so it made this drama even better for me. Bora and I have a lot of similarities, and I was rooting for her from the start to the end. It felt like rooting for myself too back when I was in her shoes. The breakup wasn't the only realistic thing about this drama. Bora's relationship with her sister, Yujeong and her husband, Sangjin's divorce, Soohyeok's relationship with Yuri—those were realistic, too. I couldn't blame any of the characters for how they acted because I understood them. However, few of them made me uncomfortable.

For instance, the relationship that ultimately formed between Sangjin and Uri, as well as Bomi and Jinho's. Those were realistic, sure, but uncomfortable and unnecessary. It kind of ruined the storyline somehow. Instead of letting the story focus more on the leads' developing relationship, the writers added those and the story dragged. To be honest, there were some boring episodes and it was a little hard for me to jump to the next ones sometimes. The comedy that was added into this drama wasn't really that satisfying. I knew from the start that I wasn't going to have tears of joy or stomachache from laughing too hard, unlike in some romcom series I have watched like Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and Touch Your Heart—and I love that kind of feeling! Dramas that make me laugh so hard and cry so hard are the best ones. This one has just a light touch of comedy in it, and it was okay. It didn't make me roll in bed laughing but some scenes were really funny, like that when Bora and her ex were yelling at each other in the tunnel and her shouting to the garbage collectors to take her ex because he was garbage, too. It was brilliantly written and their acting was so good.

Some scenes were kind of boring and repetitive, like Soohyeok and Bora meeting at Jinwoo's cafe for work and the scenes inside Jinri Publishing's office. It felt like the characters moved in a small, limited space and there was almost nothing new in every episode. If I were one of the writers, I would have suggested other places for the characters to meet.

Oh, and lastly, the lead characters' chemistry wasn't really that satisfying. Maybe it was just because of the storyline, or how their characters were portrayed, but I didn't see that much oozing chemistry between them. Overall, it was okay and I'll rate this drama an 8 out of 10.

Yana Jul 23 2023 7:50 am I have mixed emotions about the ending and overall story. Let me summarize the good stuff and things that didn't work out for me.

To start, the characters lines are so well written from episode one until the final episode except for some scenes. I really had fun listening to the thoughts and opinions of the characters about romantic relationships, marriage and breakup although they were not necessarily right about that.

However, the well written script and the style of directing did not match at all in most instances. How many times has it been shown bora sitting on the couch waiting for her sister to arrive at home? Or yoo in na in her bedroom texting or calling the male lead? Or when she's attempting to sleep on the bed either crying due to breakup or waiting for the male lead's reply? It was almost the same angle, honestly making it boring to watch. Also the actors especially the main leads would have conversation while sitting down on a couch or restaurant chairs so many times in almost every episode. It felt that the script no matter how good was wasted since they were just at most times sitting. This is obviously a problem on the part of the director.

Despite the unsatisfying chemistry between the leads, they did well enough for me to root for their relationship until the final episode. I disagree that they dont have chemistry. They do have chemistry and romantic moments like the slow motion scenes when the fl was trying some clothes, and when they attended a pre wedding photoshoot. It was just dragged on too long that upon getting to the confession part, I felt nothing, no spark, no butterflies. I think it's all about timing but the show except for the slow motion scene lacks timing to build the romance of su hyeok and bora.

Overall, this is an okay watch just don't expect a lot of comedic scenes.

MJ Jul 11 2023 9:20 am I like the storyline and main characters. The plot development is interesting. Their script is smart and witty! Although the feelings of lead male (who is my fav actor) is confusing as he seemed to be swinging to and fro with his first love.

The story could have ended with the lead characters declaring their mutual like/love fir each other. What followed - the ending for the other characters, is anti-climactic and unnecessary. It serms somebody else added to the script to make it a very perfect happy ending for all. But all we needed really was to see how the lead characters would have their closure.

Both the ml and fl nailed their roles and they have good chemistry (for me). Kudos to Yoo In Na's performance, especially on the scene where she cried her eyes out while lying on her bed broken-hearted. I was never in a romantic relationship since birth. (I'm turning 21 btw) So naturally, I haven't experienced the pain of breaking up with someone whose been a part of your life. Yoo In Na made me feel that kind of pain for a brief moment. This is my 301st kdrama (yes, i'm keeping a list), and that was the first time i cried with the fl because of her break-up. Well anyways, what makes me like less this drama is because of some scenes where I find unnecessary (like they don't contribute to the development of the story or the characters). Aside from that, this drama is good. You'll be easily hooked on the first episode.

At first I was a bit annoyed because the female lead love her ex-bf so much when he was not worthy at all. But the next plot when she’s with the male lead is very interesting to watch. Also most funny romcom drama that I watch recently ? Really love how the female and male lead build their relationship, and how strong the female lead at the end (knowing what she wants in a relationship). Love love this drama so much, one of my favorite drama so far ??

I just hated that she doesn’t seem to value herself… Yeah, probably the reason why I am saying this is because I’ve not been in her situation, but when you’ve already given the jerk of a guy nth time to apologize to you and get back with you but all the time what he can only say are bad things - not even bad, those words are actually hateful, undeserving of anyone, and yet you hear him say those things (in front of you and at your back), can’t you just wake up and realize that the guy is totally not deserving of your awesome self?! The worst part is, Bo-ra even begged him?! And then is willing to turn a blind eye with what the guy did?! That guy isn’t even a tiny bit sorry to Bo-ra and yet Bo-ra actually ruined her life because of that breakup! That’s so irritating! It’s not just to get the feelings of the viewers, it’s like making the viewers feel like they have to settle for a guy like that! He deserved not just a slap, but also an uppercut and a kick!!! He is such a scum!

Irene Jun 09 2023 9:53 am I've been through the roller coaster of relationship like this drama, so it's kinda touched me. I really like Bora. I like her selfcontrol and development. Despite everything, they're just kdrama seasoning. All those characters are imperfect. Between red flag and green flag, they are balance, just like normal people. So, this drama is normal.

If this makes you boring, bcs this thing is real. Well, you can clean off the sugarcoat. I'll rewatch it in the future.

If you like drama like Because This Is My First Life, then this drama is your thing.

Kiddos Jun 07 2023 8:38 am Underrated drama! It’s funny, light but realistic! Seriously, every actor/actress has portrayed the best of their characters! I really love Yoo Inna’s act since Goblin, but seriously she made a good (and realistic) pair with Yoon Hyunmin. Their chemistry was great! Also Hyunmin’s act is so good, that made me searching for his previous drama :) the breakup process was realistic and messy (because for some people it happens like that) and the way we see the Su Hyeok & Bora perspectives was on point. I think they cut the story, because some parts feels weird, like when the wedding of Yuri when they suddenly jumping to the scene of throw the flower bucket. But Soojin was funny, also Suhyeok reaction after that lol. Such underrated drama with great story and amazing actors/actresses! Anyway I satisfied with the ending! Shout out to the writer and director and the team!

Jianna Jun 02 2023 11:26 pm I liked this drama since it’s light and very healing. I also liked the characters but some of the actors weren't as great based on the comments I have read. Yoo In Na seems not to be interested in trying a different role. I have liked her since Queen and I but after that all of her roles are pretty similar. I agree that Chansung's act here is daebak. I know his character is not likable and he portrayed it well. I hope he gets a leading role soon. Overall, I liked the drama except for the ending with the young couple getting pregnant. Seriously?! I have started to like Bomi in the middle part where she's lowkey concerned with her sister and a loving girlfriend of Jinho but she was so annoying when she got pregnant. Everyone was concerned with her but she is so out of this world spoiled brat. The drama ended it like it was okay to get pregnant as long as you love and support each other. She doesn't have a job and just relies on her sister and jin ho is just working part-time but the drama ended with them getting married and everyone's happy. Such a good example to the young generation.

Biased May 27 2023 5:49 pm Main couples, Bora and Suhyeok, they're cute, but Suhyeok is giving me headache towards the end, he keep being his old self and just changed in last 15 minutes. And the way they dated is cringey. it's hard for me to look at. I think it's better to have them act as they usually do, but with more endearing moments and affections.

Jinho and Bomi are cute. They are giving kdrama's typical scenes. Although I agree it's a bit weird and unnecessary to go to the pregnancy trope. Maybe they want to picture real life situation, where everything is not going as smooth as you planned, I don't know. I want to emphasize again that they're cute, haha.

Uri and Sangjin is unnecessary, from the start I feel it's wrong. Office romance with someone way younger is common in real life though. But I dont feel anything for them.

Jinwoo and Yujeong maybe the most realistic married couple. They're so real. I love them. Yujeong's character is also give a lot of freshness and comedy into the drama.

But overall this drama is enjoyable, I invested on this week after week. Thank you for being that precious first drama for our Junhoe. I'm so glad he's in this project, he even got to sing the OST for the beginning and ending of the drama, I can"t ask for more. Thank you for all the directors who helped him, he said there're a lot that he learned in this drama. I also thank sister Yoo Inna who taking care of him. I can't believe after 7 years, they got to work together (Yoo Inna sunbaenim voted for Junhoe in Mix and Match survival show). She's so kind and supportive, love her so much (crying).

Truthfully, Bomi being pregnant was so unnecessary because they didn't delve into it, it was just there and at the most awkward point of the story. Also, the writing after the confession showing that the main leads are in love was so cringy, the writers could have been more creative. Also hated the last scene...like why??? so many questions on that whole scene. The drama throughout was cute and I liked the topics that were discussed, it's just the ending unfortunately.

TrueToHate May 26 2023 3:35 am I really enjoyed our main couple, Bora and Su-hyeok, and Yoo-Jung and Jin-Woo; they really portrayed married life, but what really caused my blood to boil in this series was the character of Bomi, who has no right to be a brat and disrespect her sister, especially since she is still dependent on her. She is really an ungrateful brat. I was just amazed by Bora's tolerance for Bomi, because if it were me, I would already smack the hell out of Bomi.

Sakaru May 25 2023 12:11 pm back again after the 14th episode. Needless to say it was a satisfactory ending , I loved the way Su Hyeok got over his fear and pride and let his emotions win for once! And as expected , they crammed. And surprisingly it turned out okay. But I agree with the majority that say Uri and Sang jin was a bit unnecessary. They could turn it into an opportunity to depict how crushes are in adulthood but iG the typical drama route is more fun. The preganancy also wasn't a hit with me but JunHo and Bomi couple were. Their marriage is a bit meh for me. They should have instead focused on Bora and SuHyeok's marriage. Yu jeong and Jinwoo couple won my heart too. You need to share your interests with your SO to enjoy together. Either ways , seeing Su Hyeok change to such a cute and lovely man in the last twelve or thirteen minutes of the episode was expected but somehow I also smiled a bit at that part lol. It was natural although it does seem rushed. All in all , it's a good bow on the present. The ending is well done and that's all. It's a 9/10 for me. Although ep 13 was giving me no hope , ep 14 picked it up!

the writer neglects the main couple's chemistry. I like yoojung-jinwoo their have improvement. But for the other couple just being too forced. Also bomi i respect her once when she really care about her sister after bora’s breakup. And after that? She’s just annoying girl.

I hope we can get more and more soohyuk bora moment ☹️

I love that they smoothly resolved the couples conflicts. You will learn so much if you will just pay attention. I think this is not just all about the main lead story. I have no idea how much they'll scram into this one last 1 hour episode but it's not looking great. I guess it'll follow Strangers Again (Another ENA drama that was a Huge let down). Hoping they wrap it up a bit satisfactorily but if it doesn't , it has been a huge waste.

I've seen several other online boards on this show and it really does seem that a lot fans are mad. Not sure if the producer/writer/director fully understood the amount of criticism they would face with this upcoming twist in the show. Why did I have to go and invest so much hope and love into this show.

Dale May 18 2023 6:22 pm So Episode 12 was pretty good with Yeon Bo-Ra and Lee Su-Hyeok getting closer but to be honest the teaser at the end for Episode 13 made me so mad that any happy feelings I had are gone. Why do the writers feel the need to make Yeon Bo-Ra look so dumb, they had done such a good job of showing her growth and realize how bad her ex-boyfriend was. Why do they have to make a smart woman look so weak. Im totally frustrated right now and with only a few Episodes left they didnt really have to make this love triangle so overly complicated. Stressed out and sad because up until right now I really loved this show.

I loved the way Bora’s boyfriend talked about her when they were breaking up. Reminds me of my ex. I loved that they could show the exact kind of emotions i felt and the same things i heard from my ex. I love Bora, i think her character is like me and the way i see the relationships and men.i also could feel the way that soo hyuk treated yuri. Many men are that way and you just don’t know what is between you two but you love them anyway which really hurts you. And i love that Bora is going through the challenge that the man she has crush on right now is going through something himself and not everything is lovey dovey buuuttt the show is still cute and funny!!! It has all i want from a show. Just perfect!

Steve May 03 2023 10:06 pm First, Joo Sang-Wook's character is annoying and almost the reason alone not to watch this. The drama has some nice elements, including good chunks of dialog, but it could be much better if it showed some subtlety in its storyline and supporting characters. Some k-dramas continue to rely on wildly exaggerated characters to sell the part. It the plot is farcical, then sure, exaggerate all you want. But audiences and their tastes have evolved. We don't need to be hit over the head to understand a characters personality or motivation. Keep it real. Also, while Yoo In-Na is a respectable actress, she was miscast in this part. I wish k-dramas did not rely so heavily on its stars who often bring too much of their personality to the role. Final note: Hong Hwa-Yeon has a ton of potential.

Skip the parts that you think are annoying but not the series. It’s only getting better and I keep counting the days until the next episode airs.

This drama is so bad. I hated episodes 3-6. I thought bora would lie to the end and only be honest with her best friend and new boyfriend. But the author makes an impression. This story is absolutely disgusting. At first I thought this drama would end in a romance comedy, but instead it was pure romance. Ahh writer, why do you make deborah look like a fool And only at the beginning smart. I will skip this drama. And watched it again when my insomnia relapsed

The scene when she’s wearing her hoodie and the sound of her sob broke my heart. She looked so pathetic chasing after her cheater ex boyfriend, but it’s actually very realistic. Not all people could move on easily from break up. It takes time to heal. I praised Yoo In-Na for a very impressive acting.

I also agree that Deborah's heartbroken crying is getting annoying but at the end , that relationship is all she had. Even her career was rooted in the relationship. So it definitely must've been hard to let go. But yeah the story needs to get a move on by 6th episode. The romance developing gradually is the best part. Su-hyeok being the hidden softie and he's worried about her gives me the butterflies. He genuinely looks like he cares about her. Great acting by YHM. Yoo-Inna is also stellar with her performance as a heartbroken dating master. I am "true to love" for this drama! It's just...easy and fun without being too much. Highly recommend.

Then later at home in bed hiding and crying that was really touching because it was asnif she didn't want anyone to know or hear her then. But overhearing him say he would not marry her...that was like a stake in the heart.

Really want a 2nd season and 4th so she gets her happy ending. Does anyone know if it will continue?
