Ji-Young (Han Chae-Young) works as an announcer and she is married to Jae-Wook (Bae Soo-Bin). Her husband is an architect and he comes from a wealthy family. Ji-Young is also pregnant. Her life seems perfect, but she learns that her friend Na-Kyung (Oh Yoon-Ah) is pregnant with her husband’s baby. Even though Jae-Wook begs Ji-Young for forgiveness, she divorces him. Na-Kyung also has a miscarriage.

6 years later, Ji-Young is remarried. She lives with her husband Min-Ho (Lee Chun-Hee) and her 6-year-old son Hyun-Woo. One day, Hyun-Woo is diagnosed with leukemia. She learns that her bone marrow is not a match for her son. To save her son's life, Ji-Young meets her ex-husband Jae-Wook for the first time in 6 years. Jae-Wook is now married to Na-Kyung. Jae-Wook learns that his bone marrow is also not a match for Hyun-Woo. At that time, a doctor suggests to Ji-Young and Jae-Wook to have a second child for a bone-marrow transplant. The ex-spouses face a difficult decision.

Park Min May 22 2023 12:26 pm Cheap melodrama, its narrative shortcomings are somewhat forgivable due to the inept writer's apparent limitations in using other means to occupy its duration. However, the same can't be said for its conclusion, which regrettably left the viewers with a palpable sense of disappointment. The only thing you'll be getting is a stinging sour aftertaste.

But of course if Seo Jiyoung goes to the father-in-law, this show would take only 6 episodes to complete. What a waste of time watching this show. Please write better and smarter script

saranghae Jul 28 2020 11:24 pm epi 48 just finished the 2nd half was very good everything unfolded here but the 1st half forget it slow nothing happened a waste of time in the end i wanted more punishment for the evil wench cz she abused and manipulated people using the knowledge of her profession she broke all the codes of decency morals fairness etc just to get her license revoked omg omg thats not enough my ratings 5 or 6/10 and i recommend only the 2nd half

saranghae Jul 21 2020 5:37 am epi 28 i remember starting this drama about the time when it came out like 2 years ago attracted by the title and dumped it by epi 8 cz the plot was very slow boring and obscured i mean depressing very much different than the family dramas that i like then by chance i heard one of my fem friend talking about how much she cried and loved this drama so that was good enough for me to revisit and restart it where i left it and find out　for myself after a few epi the thing was still slow i started losing my patience again and thought of dump it again for the 2nd time but this time was gonna be for dammed good i endured a bit more it was about half way when hyun woo had to go and visit his grandpa while there he learned something which changed the whole complex of this drama which ended with the reencounter of joon seo with her bio mom that scene was so incredible good that wrenched the deepest of my dam guts im a cold man but I was watching this so helpless then I thought I was gonna finish this drama no matter what i feel like the ending will be really good looking forward

Rams Jun 30 2020 3:56 am I hate how uncomprehensive and inconsiderate MBC is in awarding dramas...Throughout the year of 2019 this is the only Drama that gained higher ratings....What I realllly hate about MBC is that the actors were shown as underrated where in they weren't even invited to any of MBC's variety show ... Another fact is that I really hate that ALL of the Public Channels give majority of the awards to dramas that were programmed on the second half of the f***in year.

VeeVeeVee May 14 2020 10:50 am I enjoyed watching this drama. Slow paced, many drama tropes, and definitely a makjang, but the good outweighed the bad.

The actors did so well but Oh Yoon Ah and Bae Soo Bin definitely stole the show. I couldn't find any flaws, their dialogues were well-delivered, and their actions were just normal.

Han Chae Young, on the other hand, was tooooo slow--- her walk, her gaze, her speech, her actions, everything about her was too slow!!! It was frustrating to watch especially that she's almost always crying in every scene. Plus, Hyun Woo was also very slow! I get it, he's sick. But damn, can't he just move a bit faster??

Nonetheless, this family drama is great. But don't compare it with the mainstream ones. This was perhaps created for the older audiences.

Jinjoo Sep 15 2019 5:04 pm @Thom i just finished this drama & i can try to answer your question, altho both parents are not a match for Hyun woo, the ex husb/wife did an artificial insemination where the blood chord ? of the baby wld be a match for the brother who would go transplant! the ex parents did not go on a date where at first they had it in mind but changed their mind, instead they had the other procedure done. Hope this is not a spoiler for those who haven't watched this drama!

Jinjoo Sep 10 2019 2:41 pm i only watch this bec of bae soo bin ssi, he's a truly amazing actor N he never disappoint us be it a bad guy or good guy in a drama, he's one of da best! one thing i can't stand in this drama is his mother she tolerated her evil 2nd dtr in law knowing that she's a bad woman! (hope am not a spoiler here but am only on epis 14 so there's a lot more to see). His father is also a bad man, not recognizing Hyun woo as his very first grandchild! i like jae wook's sister she's a smart one N won't give an inch to this nasty woman Na kyung she's so insecure bec all she's aiming for really is the construction company, she's a greedy person N too sad that Jae wook fell for her! Ji Young is a nicer woman for Jae wook but one thing i don't u/stand though is why Ji young gave up her son, she cld've kept him i still don't get that part at all! Nice drama so far!

Jae Wook’s mother is so hateful, but the story also establishes why she’s so self-centered and greedy. I hated her the most when she schemes to make the bone marrow donor change his mind to help the boy. From the start, she stole everything from Ji Young. She creates the conflict in this whole story and that’s why this drama is very interesting.

I like this show but if the innocent kid dies after his bravery in going through chemotherapy, I'm done. No one's evil would prevail this way.

Why in the world did the chairman give in to this evil, conniving woman? Tell the kid that this viper is not his mother and kick her tail out in the street.

Ji Young and ex-hubby need to grow the appropriate balls and stand up to his evil heifer....

I wish I could have someone like him who is soo understanding loving, mrtyr in love, thoughtful, responsible, selfless and a man of dignity. The hell with those who are greedy and money oriented people. Min ho and hyun woo are examples of people who are willing to give life for the happiness of the ones they loves. This drama makes me cry in every episodes and I am really enjoying it. Hoping that hyun woo will not die or else I will cry a river for him, jebal don't die hyun woo.....

Great scriptwriting and brilliant acting from everyone. Ji Young is nailing her role and I’m with her all the way. I must be the only one that wants her back with Jae Wook. She is still deeply in love with him regardless of the betrayal and the fact that they’re both married to other people. This drama is an emotional train wreck and there are no clear winners in the end. I just can’t wait for that snake Na Kyung to get all her just desserts. You reap what you sow lady and Ji Young please show no mercy to that heartless conniving spineless wrench!

Ivsy Dec 23 2018 4:14 pm I'm hooked to this drama, I can't even imagine what is going through the mother's mind when she hear the only solution for treating the deadly illness is to have another sibling to save your kid, I would do it in a heart beat, and give a sh..t about what people think, if you are not a parent you can not imagine how hard is to lose a child. As for the husband, I would not go back to him, he is a coward, a piece of trash as well as his whole family (including the aunt because she has a plan). I just hope for a good if not a happy ending.

What a bloody great story; Im in!

Blunt Nov 25 2018 9:46 am A woman's kid has leukemia, so she goes to the hospital with her old husband instead of her new one. I don't know in what universe this makes sense. In another scene, she learns about her old husband's infidelity, so she's slapping her own face multiple times to check if she's not dreaming. As if someone would really do that. The rest of the script is just as cringeworthy. It's like I am watching a telenovela or a soap opera. Too bad, because I loved the director's previous work "A Thousand Kisses". Hopefully, he'll find a better script next time.
