Megumi Soutome (Noriko Eguchi) is a contract employee in the editorial department at a publishing company. She is invited by her colleagues to join them for a drink get-together, but Megumi Soutome declines their offer. She leaves quickly after work. The reason why she is in such a rush, is so she can have a "solo katasu." She enjoys solo activities like eating alone at restaurants, having her own party, and staying at love motels.

Grandmalee Aug 30 2021 10:53 am Just an incidental thought. The theme of this series is similar to that of Hinekure Onna no Bocchimeshi (about a loner who eats out). Is this becoming a trend in Japan, with a greater emphasis on the individual self than on the collective self?

Grandmalee Aug 30 2021 10:46 am An interesting combination of office comedy and advertisement of hospitality spots suitable for one or more persons. It is an eye-opener to see a Hummer remodeled into a stretch limo, a high-class French restaurant catering to single diners, etc., but quite unrealistic to expect anyone would go indoor rock-climbing immediately after a rigorous gym session (though it makes sense in terms of episode themes). Noriko Eguchi is effective with her commonplace looks and mild manners, as is the supporting cast in their various roles as servers, receptionists, etc. The script also seems well-written (in translation).
