Plot

This is a story of two women who didn't make the right choice. It weaves a tale about how dangerous it is to move in and live together and how a divorce due to extramarital affairs leaves a deep scar. Kang Han-geol has three daughters. Keum-pa, the oldest, marries a lawyer. They have a son and she lives a life happily and comfortably. But her husband has an affair with a younger colleague at work. Eun-pa, the youngest, is a college student passionate about love. She dumps Yun-taek, her first love, and moves in to live with Jeon Seong-ki, a womanizing swindler. She becomes pregnant and eventually gets her parents' permission to marry him after trouble. But he is a no-show at the wedding. Eun-pa works like a fiend for the future of her kid but there is new love on the horizon for her as well.

Park Min May 13 2024 10:50 pm The drama descended into the depths of revulsion with its gratuitous and sensationalistic approach to storytelling, leaving us appalled by its lack of subtlety and tact. Its heavy reliance on cheap tactics and low blows served only to alienate and inflame. The writing veered into the abyss of absurdity, sacrificing logical leniency and impartiality for the sake of eliciting visceral reactions. Broken balance system by design to further push this same narrative. A case in point, Eun Pa and Yun Tek as well as their individual paths. There was a big opportunity for the drama to do some real character reflection but it decided to ignore it, it only did it very briefly with Eun Pa in the first 1/3 of the drama. The drama had the audacity to deliver a message at the end of the drama from the cast members on what the "terms of endearment" means while miserably failing to portray what they preached in the message itself, pathetic and shameful. There were two main stories running in parallel, one for each of the sisters, however, they didn't interconnect well. The older sister had her world falling part, yet she was always emotionally discharged and normal when helping her younger sister, detracting from the seriousness and tension of her own story. On the other hand, the third sister was utterly useless in the entire dynamic, she should have played the linking bridge between everyone. In general most of the stories remained underdeveloped, cut short or had no direction, even the side ones, despite having a very generous long runtime. In its quest for conspicuous sensationalism, the drama lost sight of any memorable qualities, leaving us disheartened by its blatant disregard for a reasonable delivery to what it preached.

lorena Dec 29 2018 5:54 am I did not like the end, as if there was one more chapter to complete the story. The words that were engraved in my memory were "I could choose to live differently. No one forced me." "Not everyone who suffers in his life decides to stain himself and rebel against conventions. I did this to myself and only now do I understand" "I do not deserve any justification for my acts" (Kang Eun-Pa says to Na Jang-Soo).

The writing was great, with the pacing of the story just right for a 60 episode drama.

Song Il Gook and Han Ga In deserve that Couple award. Their chemistry was off the charts and their relationship was very believable. Unlike most pairing in KDrama land where you can feel awkwardness. I credit this to Song Il Gook who is a superb actor. Han Ga In was new in acting and Song Il Gook made sure their scenes were perfectly executed with no hint of awkwardness that usually eminates from a new actor/actress (Han Ga In). She was able to step up and act well opposite him.

Highly recommended long family drama.

dido Jun 23 2016 7:09 am i was bored at first, then as song il-guk entered the scene, it became remarkable and interesting..he's superb acting made the love story of this drama interesting & worth watching & totally enteraining..love their chemistry, song il-guk and han ga in..2 thumbs up!!you really made me cry..

From india Aug 02 2014 10:35 am A touching story.There is comedy.emotions,family,relationships and much more.The chemistry between han ga in and ji sung is awesome.But something happened in the end,after 60 episodes it seems it was written by some one else,the essence of the story is some what lost,but anyway i will say it is a must watch drama.
