At the spooky western styled mansion turned restaurant "Thriller Restaurant," Kuroka and Ryu (Keisuke Tomita) disappear. After their disappearance others start to disappear at the restaurant. Rumors soon start that the devil himself is responsible for the missing persons. Then someone receive a chain email that states if they don't reply a devil will come and take them away.
One day, Ako's (Ryoko Shiraishi) friend Mai (Maya Sakura), from Yamazakura Elementary School, disappears. Ako thinks that clues of her disappearance can be found at "Thriller Restaurant". Ako then takes her friends Sho (Hiro Yuki) & Reiko (Masumi Asano) with her to the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Haru Amano (Ayano Kudo) visits Yamazakura Middle School to find clues about her missing younger sister Mai. Haru is a detective who specializes in in paranormal phenomena. She also has 7 unique detective devices. Haru approaches Kaoru (Win Morisaki), a friend of Ryu who disappeared earlier & learns that Kaoru also received the chain email. Haru then leaves for a village of the devil with Jun (Ayame Goriki).

- "Thriller Restaurant" is based on the children's storybook series "Kaiden Restaurant" (edited by Miyoko Matsutani & illustrated by Yoshikazu Takai & Kumiko Kato).
- The movie "Thriller Restaurant" is a unique hybrid live-action and anime feature film.
