Tokyo Seimenjo is a udon franchise restaurant with the motto "Quick, cheap, & delicious." The restaurant has a lot of regular customers, but their manager has been on maternity leave for the past 2 months and a reliable staff member has jsut quit. The four other staff members, Haruto Aoi (Shuntaro Yanagi), Yoshio Midorikawa (So Okuno), Rin Momota (Shiori Akita), and Setsuko Kimoto (Keiko Enoue), feel uneasy about the situation. At that time, 27-year-old Kotaro Akamatsu (Hokuto Yoshino) is sent to the restaurant as the new manager. He previously worked for a hotel, which is the parent company of Tokyo Seimenjo. Kotaro Akamatsu assures the staff that he knows how things work at a restaurant, but he works there like he is still working at a hotel. He is overly polite to the customers and he seems very nervous while working. The staff members become embarrassed.

MD Oct 31 2021 3:55 am I'm sure we will irritated by that kind of manager in real life hahaha. Anyway Hokuto Yoshino, Shuntaro Yanagi and the other casts roled their own character well. Personally i enjoyed watching this series because it's easygoing drama that you can watch like everytime you want. Well i didn't expected that they really combine "it" in the ending haha, kinda makes me astonished though

Grandmalee Oct 27 2021 7:39 am It's interesting to get a glimpse of the daily operation inside a udon shop, so the series has potential to be both informative and entertaining, but it's ruined by a lazy, sloppy script. The new manager (played by Hokuto Yoshino) has the stupidity to adopt manners and style of service of a high-class hotel where he once worked for a fast-food restaurant. Episode 3 or 4 is totally outrageous when one of the servers (played by So Okuno) yells out at the top of his lungs his past connection to a gang back home in front of other customers, and the manager nods in approval. Then, he tries to propose marriage to the girl whom he hardly knows, and the whole staff is beyond him. Shuntaro Yanagi is believable as "leader," and it's a funny moment when he comes back a year later as writer, his former co-workers who have read his work say they do not understand what he tries to say. The one fine moment in the entire series is when the son, long ashamed by his mother's (played by Keiko Enoue) lowly job and too embarrassed to acknowledge their relationship, calls her mom in front of others after witnessing how really hard and efficiently she serves customers. It's quite touching.
