Yamaneko (Kazuya Kamenashi) is a mysterious thief. He steals money from people and corporations doing evil. In the process, he also exposes their evil deeds.

Wrichmond Well Amian Chua May 14 2021 9:26 pm This drama is a mediocre drama. The pacing of the story is a bit slow so it is quite hard to catch up with what's going on with the story. However, this drama is creative in its own right because of the plot twists and some scenes that are not too predictable.

arkin productions Oct 18 2019 7:24 pm I had fun watching this! The acting was good and story was great (even though not completely accurate with the novel.) Hope they make a 2nd season to answer other questions and cliff hangers. Anyway, I highly recommend this drama!

I started rewatching. But I just can’t watch it like a normal person anymore. Every time I see him (Chameleon - Don’t want to spoil it for anyone) having those ‘moments’, it breaks my heart. Why?!?!

Rina Feb 14 2019 7:46 pm Yamaneko was my first jdrama that I watched and I enjoyed so much. The story was great, funny, and the unexpected twist. We need season 2!! The cast were perfect for the role too. I loved their chemistry. I kinda liked the soundtrack too. Because of yamaneko, I got my first japanese crush, Kamenashi Kazuya. He is so handsome. I will check more about his projects.

I really recommended this drama!!

Tua Sep 01 2017 3:48 am This is strange drama. I'm not sure what it wanted to be. sometimes it's serious detective. other times it's silly comedy.

it has a strong start with first new member arch. plenty dramatic scene about characters interaction. but after that the character interaction becomes boring really fast and the plot twist during the end is easy to see.

I find Kame's character annoying. Yamaneko seems pragmatic mastermind-like at first then the story just leave it and put Yamaneko to be funny-clown guy bad boy. I think a lot of it has to do about singing skill of character.

The showdown at the end is not satisfying. I already know who is bad guy's henchman from first time it mentioned. the action scene is not exciting. I don't like the frame composition during fight scene.I think it's plain and blur

If you want good mystery drama I suggest '1 million yen women' it will do you good.

I don't give score, so..that's that

Soencer Jun 17 2016 12:01 pm A 10/10 drama series.. will give you the same goosebumps as Ouroborous (correct my spelling if wrong) casts are great, my bae is there (suzu hirose) a lot of plot twist occured twards its ending, a fast paced drama so u wont prob get bored watching it! Pls watch it i totally recommend it!

The story, the cast, the BGM, the soundtrack, and every component in this drama is well done. Good job Kaitou Yamaneko Team!!! I really recommend everyone to watch it. It's worth your time.

This drama is so cool and funny, LOVE IT and hope for season 2. Just please, put Chameleon in season 2 too :P (I am still to see episode 9, and 10 when it comes out).

ryuumojin Mar 06 2016 3:14 am FANTASTIC! Oh my goodness, this is one heck of an enjoyable dorama... Kamenashi-san certainly is a revelation with such ability to shift from one mood to another in a blink of an eye! All the actors here are SUPERB! And the characters, not one of them one-dimensional, so this dorama manages to surprise me every time. But it's down to its last 2 episodes... I wish there'd be season 2!!!

pastaman Jan 31 2016 3:46 pm Just watched the first episode today - and I think, it will be my favorite dorama this season. Suzu with a darker character but still so much eye-candy :-) And she was not a bit boring in Gakkou no Kaidan (for me) D-) :-) Nanao's character on the other side is more cheerful (towards her senpai) and not so cool as in Siren, First Class or even Heat). And again, I mistook Kamenashi for Takeru Satoh (like in Joker Game) ;-) Since the first episode was merely to introduce the characters and bringing Suzu & Kamenashi together, I'm looking forward for the next episode !!

inchkazuyakamenashi Jan 19 2016 8:30 pm first episode was BRILLIANT! i know kame to be a good actor and seeing him acting different characters in a single drama is just AMAZING! i love how he (yamaneko) change moods from a funny, silly, playful to a psychotic, serial-killer-looking guy! 'loved the yelling parts between yamaneko and mao. keep it up KAITO YAMANEKO TEAM!!!

F Jan 19 2016 7:44 am I'm sure this will turn out good. Suzu plays a cool girl here. That's good since she's a bit boring in Gakkou no Kaidan, though I approved of her talent as a leader. Her eyes can be quiet scary in this dorama. Then Nanao! How good to see her as a police rather than a villain in Siren. She can do both characters very well. As for Kame, after watching him in Second Love and Joker Game as a serious man, I think he can do comedy here pretty well.
