Meeeew Oct 24 2024 8:19 am Totally lame. Must be an amateur director. They told us the cops are going undercover with their original identity wiped out, that not even other cops know who they are. They do this because they are going after dangerous sociopath/psychopath criminals, yet the main character casually make phone calls in between and get into a shouting match with the Team Leader during the calls. In the beginning of Ep 3, he even showed a devastated and sad looks on his face when his senior made the choice to stab himself, then casually walked off to another room to make a "secret" phone call, as if the bad guys are blind and deaf.

I have never been so insulted as an audience.

If you said he lacked emotions in playing the role, it's because this role was portrayed a broken cop who had lost all his close friends or partners around him. He closed up himself from surroundings; and he was afraid of being close to others to cause their tragedy. He portrayed the role so well.

InterViewer Dec 31 2020 10:50 am this drama is amazing. i loved it every step of the way. the cast is amazing and did a great job bringing out the characters. 10/10 for me. if you're a fan of thriller and action this drama is a must watch. it will surprise you till the end. i watched this drama because park sung woong never disappoints I've watched all his movies and dramas. but i fell in love with kin bum's acting. he really did an amazing job. the story is amazing and well written, its like 5 or 6 plots that come together to form the final picture. and its not confusing at all, and takes you step by step, the flow is really good too. try watching the first episode and you'll be hooked.

Yes the acting over the top sometimes & lacking depth but I can forgive that because the plot takes so much of your mind that at first I didn't even payed attention to it. Kim bum in a new avatar! Not sure if to like it or not but he did give up his hair for that role, so I can praise him for that. Not sure if his character was less emotionally potrayed or was made to seem like that because he has closed up himself from everyone around him. But whatever it was I like it, people may call it bad acting or whatever but I like that attitude of his in the series otherwise it would've been very emotionally wrecking melodrama instead of a detective thriller drama. The ost is my 2nd favorite thing in the drama after the plot. I have to praise the writer, he has done a good job. This is surely one of the underrated kdrama you come across not so often with a strong storyline. Well there are one or two plot holes but it won't bother you a little much.

Not sure why 1st episode felt so lame, but as far as the series go, it's more interesting, so you should give it a try. Still lacking of acting from protagonists sometimes. Somehow series are quite boring, even fast paced. Dialogues are still not that good, so you have to pay attention or you can easily loose the track on what's going on. Plot is interesting, whatsoever, and unpredictable. Though, Lee Kyoung-Young, as I said before, grabs all attention with his acting. It's getting more interesting when he's on screen or there's some action scene. And there's some major twists involving him. Overall, worth to watch series.

Alexey Sep 03 2020 7:32 pm Sorry everyone, but... do y'all really think this drama is good? It's so dragging. I've watched 1st episode and it's been the longest hour in my life. In a bad way. There's like 10 scenes (its very little) in the whole episode. Nothing, starting from characters, plot, soundtrack brings me into this. Twists and all other things qre quite cheap. I feel like the episode should've lasted 30 minutes, it would've been watchable atleast. But I was bored to death. And the pacing - it's so weird. Acting is mediocre. Directing is bad. Dialogues are killing with it's stupidity. Cinematography is decent, but with everything else this bad it's just doesn't work. Perhaps I'm too spoiled with other kdramas. But I mean, if I never watched dramas or if I were in early 2000s, maybe, I'd watch this. But that thing... Lee Kyoung-Young recieved award for this? Perhaps because he's the best actor here. I don't know, I've barely watched 1st episode and he's not there yet, so I'm not sure if I'd stand other episodes to get to see his performance...

He has no acting flair at all and its impossible to sympathize with the character in the way he is portraying it!! Hope he stopped acting after that

tim65 Aug 08 2017 8:25 pm whoever wrote the screenplay for this drama did an amazing job, such genius. solid story line, good acting, especially Kim Beom, his acting is very good, this is totally different than what he usually portrait in other dramas, he's more mature, and i really like the way he looks in this drama, a handsome strong man, totally different than his usually look, didn't recognize him at first though. Signal and Hidden Identity are the two best dramas i've seen from TvN so far, hope they will have more drama like this one, and hope to see Kim Beom will get more role like this, he's got potential after all, i'm giving this drama a 10/10.

But it all came together in the latter half. Signal is still the best police drama for me but this one was worth the watch esp if you are tired of watching all the cheesy overrated dramas *cough* dots *cough* lol

Fair Reviewer Sep 22 2015 12:23 am I also don't understand why sometimes the investigation team decides to shoot and then other times fight. Some of the fighting was indeed unreasonable. They could have dealt with the petty crimes with a threat to shoot and handcuffs. Bring the fighting when its needed but not when you have a gun facing a group of gangsters who is ready to kill you.

Fair Reviewer Sep 21 2015 11:25 pm There's potential but as one poster said, the story wasn't so convincing and for the investigation team to be top notch they made a lot of amateur mistakes. I also wish the main character's personality wasn't so depressing. I understand the deal with his girlfriend but it was getting a little old. There was also a lot of flashbacks of the same old scene as if we didn't get the point of what happened to her that one night. I was happy to see action and potential but wish the story could have been more convincing and realistic at some points.

nomi Sep 17 2015 2:34 am It was an entertaining show overall.Though the story wasn't convincing at all but i am sure you cannot sleep while watching it as it will keep you on the edge of your seats.Acting was good especially park sung woong did a fabulous job. He really is a very good actor.Unfortunately the writer or the script team voids him out at some places.It is not good at all.The writer should have done more justice to the caliber of this man.He didn't look good making childish decisions.

Kim Beom acting was mono linear.He didn't show too much expressions.Might be due to the script given to him but lee wong jong was always cool. Kim Min Jun was also very much fit in his role as a villain. The cast selection was overall good.The action scenes were there but more of times not so convincing and cool.

If you are looking for an action genre drama, just go ahead but watch it with entertaining point of view...

But this drama make me watch without lose one second only of the durations. I fully enjoy. I hope season 2 for this film.

s2po Aug 05 2015 8:25 pm stupid drama! it was good at first but the later episodes lost it. all of a sudden their supposedly action-exposed actors cannot quickly react to assaults, they are unable to trace mobile phones, everything became very predictable.

luna Aug 03 2015 11:16 am This is not a romance drama. I'm actually really enjoying this drama. Most drama's that come out are very light and romantic - and don't get me wrong - I really love those! In fact, I really do want the main characters to end up together, but there has been no romance so far (I've watched 14 ep's so far) and I doubt there will be since it's almost finished. But I've decided that's okay. Watching a drama of a different pace and type is refreshing between all the other drama I'm watching that is full of romance (The time we were not in love; Scholar who walks in the night; Oh my ghostess)... So if you're looking for the main characters love story - this is not it. But what I like about this drama is the action and the police investigation. The police are smart - and even though they are going up a formidable villain, the team works well together with some comedy in between; and they manage to get closer to catching the villain with each episode. The investigation is also more realistic than other police investigation k-drama that I have watched which is also an advantage. Kim Beom is also awesome in this new role where he is serious and trying to catch the guy who killed the woman he loved. Give it a try if you looking for a smart; action packed; and 'keep you at the edge of your seat' kind of drama.

I hope there will be more fun interactions between the team members, and ofcourse a love story! I'm quite sad cause i looked forward to watching kimbum in this action drama. But sadly the action is waaaaay too much that it tends to be boring irritating to watch that makes my mood heavy as i watch. Also resulting to masking of what the story should be.

Lee Jul 19 2015 1:57 pm Near the end of episode 8, the Gun Woo character seems more like a mad dog that needs to be put down. And certainly not someone you would want on your team, no matter how talented he is.

I think the writing could benefit from having a law enforcement consultant on the staff. The agents don't seem to act in reasonable or intelligent ways. For example, when Moo Won refuses to leave Gun Woo's side while Gun Woo is trying to defuse the bomb, that seemed unlikely. It's one thing to trust your team members -- you can trust a team member's skills and he/she can still fail to defuse a bomb. Moo Won basically put his life in jeopardy for no rationale reason and I think if the head of a team made a decision like that, he/she would not continue to be the head of a team much longer.. It's not even admirable -- it's just stupid.

Also, when Min-Joo nearly gets killed a couple times, she seems to bounce back like nothing just happened. This doesn't seem like a normal or healthy human reaction to what has just been a life threatening situation.

And, in the beginning of episode 9, the Gun Woo character barges into a nest of criminals and volunteers to help them. If I were one of the criminals, I would just shoot him regardless of what he said. I don't think it's realistic that they would keep him alive. As an analogy, suppose you're robbing a bank with a gang of 3-4 other people and a complete stranger crashes your group volunteering to help your group. Again, the rationale/reasonable response is to kick the stranger out, very possibly with grave injuries. Again, this isn't brave or admirable behavior -- it's just stupid.

And these stupid character reactions have the effect of jarring us out of the narrative, making us realize that it's not that believable, eroding the suspension of disbelief leeway that we give these stories..

I give it about a C+.

The undercover cop chooses to stay bound, knowing that there's a pretty high chance that he'll soon be killed, so that the mission won't be jeopardized.

This seems pretty unrealistic to me. If you have a choice between jeopardizing a mission where no lives are lost versus saving a cop's life, I think the clear choice is to save the cop's life. In fact, if a cop's boss made any other choice, I would think that that would be a career ending choice for that boss.

And if you're the cop whose life is in jeopardy, the basic idea is that if you are able to survive, you can always catch the bad guy(s) later on.

aigoomabeee Jul 14 2015 2:18 am i agree with @dramawatcher. I looked forward to watching this drama since the lead guy is kimbum. But up until the latest ep, ep8, the drama was just too heavy. At least for me. I like the cast. It's just that i wish in the future eps, it would go lighter but still thrilling. And still having a hard time connecting the scenes. There arw always new characters showing up even before i can familiarize my self to the previous case. And most of all i really hope gunwoo will loosen up a bit in the coming eps. I decided to continue watching this drama because i like the cast. I am hoping for better development of the casts' characters and the plot. I hope i'll not end up disappointed risking my time on this huhu. I'll comment again as i continue to watch this drama.

Kinda getting tired of his one dimensional acting in this though. My fav in this is Min Joo. Her acting skills in this are right on point!!! I haven't felt this committed to a drama since Healer....which has been my all time fav
