Miki (Hinako Sakurai) is a high school student. One day, her parents tell her that they are going to divorce and swap partners with the Matsuuras, a couple they met on a trip to Hawaii. Miki's parents also tell her that the Matsuura couple have a son named Yuu (Ryo Yoshizawa). They will all live together in the same house. After that, the two families begin to live together and Miki becomes attracted to Yuu. He does not talk much, but is kind.

Maya Mar 23 2019 1:35 pm I love marmalade boy, the manga version is a lot cheerful than the movie version, I don't think it's the actress' fault for the way she portrays Miki here, I think it's the writer/director who made it her character boring & angry all the time. But I like the main couple tandem, they're so cute and the chemistry is great. Both are so gorgeous and pretty. Overall, the movie is pretty enjoyable but if I have to compare the movie and the manga, I'd choose the manga ofc.

Hilary Oct 15 2018 5:28 pm I was really excited for this but it let me down. Miki's character was cold and boring in this movie, when her real character in the series is upbeat and fun loving. Every arc of the manga was 5 minutes in movie form. I thought it was all very rushed. I'm sad since it's one of my favorites mangas ever.

CinderLaura Apr 18 2018 7:32 pm Im a Huge fan of marmalade boy i bought all the Volume except Vol 3 which i thought when i bought it it said the complete vol i was upset i only got vol 1,2 and 4 and not 3 which now these days is extremely hard to find it cheap and also way too expensive and i wish they still make the anime actually it would be awesome if funimation like remakes it into the dvd and sell to make all marmalade boy fans happy that would be awesome. But i just hope this Marmalade boy Live Action is just like the anime and hope its going to be good. Cant wait to watch it :-D

krystal Jan 23 2018 12:22 am I feel like Ryo is good enough to be Yuu, but the girl playing Miki looks super boring... They could have used anyone else, they chose a nobody.

I really hope they don't ruin this adaptation, I love the manga and anime so much. The Taiwanese one was pretty good, but its old. Also it can't be explained into one movie, they need a drama series to ace it.
