Miki Takaraishi (Mirei Kiritani) is a smart and beautiful 24-year-old woman, but her personality is not as good. She falls in love with Yuga Saito (Sho Kiyohara) who is handsome and comes from a politician family. They see each other romantically, but Yugo Saito dumps Miki Takaraishi. To get revenge on Yuga Saito, she decides to run for prime minister. For her election campaign, she hires Toshiya Kadowaki (Nobuyuki Suzuki) as her campaign strategist.

jia Oct 27 2018 10:39 am while i am the biggest fan of the cast and the plot idea.. i have to say after a 10+ month wait for the eng subs to come out, that the movie definitely DID NOT live up to my expectations :-(

it's really sad for me to say this since i love mirei so much but there were just way too many untied ends by the conclusion of the movie!! no spoilers, but for those watching, be prepared for a very unsatisfied feeling at the end, no matter how cute the otp was..

and the plot itself, while interesting as a synopsis, was very slow moving.. i expected WAY more flair and outrageous antics typical and unique to jap movies - especially with such a ridiculous plot line of a revengeful gf becoming prime minister!! what happened @writers ?????

i think this movie had so much potential but was just executed very poorly. the characters felt undeveloped, the plot was focusing on the wrong areas, and i was very tempted to just skip the whole thing until the last 5 minutes (which is never a good sign for a movie!)

6/10 - a cute light movie that doesn't really go beyond that. i enjoyed the political message that it promotes but the lack of character growth and closure was ????? the cast is not at fault (and i always recommend heroine shikkaku as my go-to jmovie along with anything nana komatsu is in hehe) and i would definitely recommend watching this for them alone. it's in no way the worst movie i've ever seen, i think i just had higher expectations..
