Nanami Matsuura (Kie Kitano) is 25-years-old. When she was a middle school student she lost her parents and then grew up in an orphanage. She now works as a manager for an amateur music group, with no savings and behind on her rent.
Meanwhile, Yoshinori Tanabe (Eiji Okuda) is 65-years-old. He works as a groundskeeper at a soccer field. His job is to raise and maintain the grass there. Yoshinori Tanabe has worked there for the past 40 years. On the day of his retirement, his wife passes away.
One day, Nanami Matsuura and Yoshinori Tanabe happen to meet and Nanami Matsuura begins to live in Yoshinori Tanabe's home. Without asking Yoshinori Tanabe, Nanami brings over a single mother named Aoi and her 5-year-old son, a woman who works at a real estate company and an unemployed woman named Misaki. They all begin to live together.
