A lonely young man (Haruma Miura) happens to meet RuoLan who has an identical twin sister RuMei. They are older than him.

RuoLan tells him about her wound from a painful breakup and her troubles being a twin. While supporting RuoLan, the young man gets close to RuoLan.

Faryal Mar 21 2022 5:57 am I guess it was RuoLin who survived cuz she wished for her sis to die in the first place and a butterfly symbolises Butterflies are beautiful and have mystery, symbolism, and meaning and are a metaphor representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life. The magnificent, yet short life of the butterfly closely mirrors the process of spiritual transformation and serves to remind us that life is short. So get it RuMei died i think so but still not confirmed and she changed the clock herself so that Ryo wouldn't know if she didn't then RuMei didn't know how Ryo likes the clock to be set 5 minutes behind thats what i think so. RuoLan knew she changed somehow tinkered it without anyone knowing and she said she wanted TianLin and she wanted to become an actress and Rumei stole from her so I think shes alive

Jack Aug 09 2019 1:13 am I think she is rumei the one survived se doesnt know about 5 minutes because the last part , store clock( should same with reality time and only ryo room which late 5 minutes) the one which rang and same with the watch , and when before ruolan died , at church rumei know ruolan change watch into jesus christ necklace but doesn't know about 5 minutes late, at the end ru mei want become ruolan because ryo care her more than tianlun

Twinten Oct 26 2017 5:36 pm An intriguing movie that keeps you guessing till the very end, very good acting by all! Being close twins it was even more appealing to us. (Though we still know very well who is who and never did the switching haha!) Still wonder how on earth that could have been just one actress?! Amazing editing there! Spoiler alert:

In fact, the movie keeps one guessing till AFTER the end, haha! It is truely an open end leaving the identity open to the interpretation of the audience. Any of the explanations we read in comments about this movie could be true. We ourselves are hinging towards thinking RuMei survived, we feel the butterfly symbolised Ruolan twice.

Neither is alive. Because when RuMei died in the accident, RuoLan tried (unsuccessfully in many aspects) to assume her twin's identity thereby killing herself.

It seemed rather obvious to me all along that it was RuoLan's body who returned to society. Although it can be argued that grief robbed RuMei of her spirit and vitality, it's doubtful it also stole her personality and memories.

Clues: ● She didn't respond to Tianlun the same way (physically or emotionally). ● That red dress he bought that RuoLan kept for herself. ● She knew too much about the clocks and "5 minutes." ● The watch Ryo gave her.
