Even thought she has a husband who is a professor, Yoko Nojima (Rie Miyazawa) falls in love with Tetsuya Sawaki (Naohito Fujiki). Tetsuya Sawaki is also married. Because of jealousy, Tetsuya Sawaki's wife sets fire to his musical instruments shop which is run by Tetsuya Sawaki. Tetsuya Sawaki falls into huge debt. Saying he will come and find her, Tetsuya leaves Yoko Nojima. At this time, Yoko Nojima is pregnant.
10 years later, Yoko Nojima's daughter doubts her mother's life, who still believes in unrealized promises.
