Plot

A young man named Tae-Suk (Jae Hee), whose only possession is a motorcycle, spends his time riding around the city looking for empty apartments. His M.O. is to leave flyers on doorhandles and if they are still there later, he assumes the owners are not there. When he finds a home that is temporarily unoccupied, he goes inside and helps himself to the refrigerator and takes pictures of himself in front of the family photos. Before Tae-Suk leaves, he does things like the family's laundry or makes small repairs as a small payment.

Then, Tae-Suk comes upon a particular home. He meets the physically abused wife of a wealthy man.

Dae Soo Jun 06 2025 8:23 am I don't get why in the comments people are like "Wow... I'm speechless!" Or "Brillant!" , "Best Korean movie!" , "amazing!" I was deceived with these comments and it was totally a trash movie with a meaningless ending, like how could he live at someone's back without them ever noticing? The two protagonists don't even say a single word on screen throughout the whole movie except for the girl at the end of the movie which makes you think they are mute or something. The only reason I watched it was because of credits saying Lee Jong Soo is in the show as a minor role which seems to be wrong information or same name as famous actor Lee Jong Soo. The man said to be him was a middle aged man and looked nothing like Lee Jong Soo. Don't ever waste your time watching this movie, it doesn't worth the watch at all.

PattyMint Oct 16 2020 12:22 pm A unique film classic by Ki Duk Kim, not to be missed. It took me till the end of the movie to realize that the lead female character and the lead male character never said one word to one another during the entire story. They communicated through gazes and body language, like great silent movie actors. The end I think is left up to your imagination and is very poetical. Loved actor Jae Hee in particular, so handsome, so poignant.

im not into korean movie, in fact this movie is the first i've watched,

highly recommended for those looking for unussual (romantic) movie

ace Oct 28 2014 3:10 pm Brilliant! The stage direction, set blocking and camera work are great. This was a true visual treat that I highly recommend. A romantic Keaton or Chaplin for now. The actors do excellent pantomime that carries the story forward and doesn't detract from it. I mean, hell, I was 45 minutes in before I even paid attention to no one saying anything. It was that inclusive and intimate. Film is a visual medium after all and this is great visual storytelling. I can understand if it is not everyone's cup o' tea. And that is great. But if you are looking for something a little different (but ultimately very old) then there are worse ways to spend your time that watching this gem.
