Elite assassin Mantis returns from vacation and learns that Cha Min-Kyu (Sul Kyung-Gu), who was the head of MK Enterprise, is dead. He decides to leave MK Enterprise and seek a new chance with other fellow contract killers. He has a friend named J (Park Gyu-Young) that he has known for many years. They trained together to become assassin. J is lethal as a contract killer, but she was kicked out of MK Enterprise due falling out of favor with her superiors. She holds complex feelings towards Mantis.

Meanwhile, Dok-Ko (Jo Woo-Jin) was the one of the founders of MK Enterprise and he was Mantis’s teacher. He retired from the contract killing world, but, after Cha Min-Kyu’s death, he returns to take over MK Enterprise. Dok-Ko tries to lure Mantis back to the company.

Jen Nov 03 2025 9:14 pm Whoever said that kill boksoon had more talking going on is smoking crack. In Mantis, other than the beginning of the movie, I waited almost to half the movie to see actual killing (albeit short few seconds). There’s just a lot of business and investor talk going on omg. But I liked the show. I can’t really compare the two movies when I realized this wasn’t a sequel, but a spin-off. And to see some reoccurring actors from squid games, and crossovers from kill boksoon was nice! But yes, kill boksoon has more actual drama.

Jen Sep 28 2025 8:55 pm Jaeyi or whatever her name is kinda spoiled this show for me, I don’t know why the writers decided to spoil the show more by making Mantis have unnecessary feelings for her. I would have even preferred if her character was replaced with a guy and make this show more bromance rather than the unnecessary unrequited feelings mantis was habouring. Kill Bok soon was much better than this.

akira Sep 28 2025 1:11 pm I particularly enjoyed it. The pace was good, no vague characters. Yum Si Wan was great as an assassin with a heart. Park Gyu Young did pretty well, too Worth watching. I hope they make another one.

Keba Sep 26 2025 4:48 am Sorry but I don’t get all the hype with Park Gyu-Young. She does not fit the character. After watching for 30 mins I had to stop. Couldn’t continue watching it. I did not like her for the character, Jae-yi. Jeon Jong-seo would have been a better actress for the part. The movie was a 1 star.
