Tetta Mamiya (Akira Terao) dreamed of making his recording debut as a singer, but he gave up that dream for his son Yuta Mamiya (Tori Matsuzaka). Now, Tetta Mamiya runs a musical instrument shop in Yokosuka. He is a humorous and popular man, who occasionally sings on a local stage in Yokosuka. One day, Tetta Mamiya is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The only things that keeps him cognizant is his son Yuta Mamiya, his wife Ritsuko Mamiya (Keiko Matsuzaka), his friends and the music that he loves. The only time Tetta Mamiya returns to his true self is when he sings his favorite songs.
Notes
- Movie is inspired by a 2016 YouTube video uploaded by Simon McDermott of himself and his 79 year father Ted McDermott singing together in a carpool karaoke format. Ted McDermott was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2013.
