Soichi Shindo (Hiroshi Abe) built his career as a social affairs reporter for a public broadcasting station. After that, he worked as an anchorman for a news program. He was then scouted by the chairperson for commercial television station JBN and Soichi Shindo becomes the main announcer for News Gate, which is the flagship news program for JBN. Although News Gate has aired for 40 years on JBM, the program is currently struggling with low ratings. Soichi Shindo begins to work with Director Hana Sakikubo (Mei Nagano) and Assistant Director Yusuke Motohashi (Shunsuke Michieda). They grow as a team and work hard to reveal the truth of various incidents.
