In 1996, AV director Katsuyuki Hirano entered into a relationship with AV actress Yumika Hayashi. The couple embarked on a bicycle trip from Tokyo to Rebun Island - a small island off of Hokkaido (northernmost prefecture in Japan). The first week was difficult for Yumika Hayashi and she cried frequently. Finally they got to Rebun Island. It took them more than one month to get to their destination. After that the couple broke up, yet they kept their friendship until the death of Yumika Hayashi.
