28-year-old Towa Hongo (Akiko Kikuchi) works as a research worker at a painting company. 10 years ago, she came to Tokyo from Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture. At an early age, her father Yukio (Hidekazu Mashima) died and her mother remarried, but her relationship with her mother worsened. They have not talked for a long time.
One day, Towa Hongo meets an old woman (Nao Kitagami), who is also from Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture. The old woman wants to give her grandson a "yukata" (casual summer kimono), which she made, but something happens to her and she can't go back to Hanamaki. Instead, Towa Hongo goes back to her hometown Hanamaki to give the yutaka. Her cousin Izumi (Yumiko Ise) welcomes her, but…..
