Plot

Rika Kudo (Kazue Fukiishi) is a young woman who quits her job at a bank to work for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. She does so not because of humanitarian reasons but rather for selfish reasons as it may look better on her resume.

At the UNHCR, she meets Ed, who is able to deduct her real intentions immediately, and works together in a volatile relationship. Through all of this the couple fall in love and become husband & wife. After their marriage Ed is assigned to work in Africa and this upsets Rika. This causes Rika to seek a divorce and after their divorce she learns that Ed has been shot to death in Afghanistan.
