Actor Jae-Ha (Park Sung-Woong) is cast for the two-man stage play “Unchain.” Also cast for "Unchain" is idol star Young-Woo (Oh Seung-Hoon). Young-Woo is not enthused about appearing in the stage play. At first, the two men do not get along. As they get more immersed in the characters they play and the gay-themed story, the two men develop unexpected feelings. Meanwhile, Hee-Won (Yoon Seung-Ah) is a Jae-Ha’s girlfriend. She has a strange feeling about the relationship between Jae-Ha and Young-Woo.

The pace, brilliant. I agree with @Daria. I almost didn't notice when and how the story pace changes. The unsettling feeling escalating quickly.

The acting, brilliant. It really gives me chill, and I can't help but wonder how it seems so real. Let's say that they should acted it double, which is acting for this movie and acting for the theater, the acting inside acting. Both actors was so strong.

The storyline, brilliant. What was that ending? I should say it did makes me questioning what's real and what's not!

The actors and the chemistry, brilliant. They deliver every lust, every pain, every fragility, every inconveniences, and every smoldering burning emotions successfully.

Sassbaekk Jan 10 2021 3:54 am Just finished this today and I gotta say if ever Korean really invest in BL, other BL like Thai’s will be screwed! With their superb acting, high budget and handsome casts, it would be endgame for other competitors. Talking about the movie itself, it was very good, very engaging and tense on the final part. A bit disappointed with the ending bcs it’s not a happy one but again who am I kidding, this would of course ended in tragedy. Both actors did amazing job and the chemistry was very good too! Overall very nice story, totally recommend to watch. Oh and if ever anyone wants to watch Korean BL series, I would like to recommend Where The Eyes Linger ??

This movie is unique, really well written and the characters are so well portrayed. Many people were not happy with the ending, but in my opinion it was real and perhaps some people would be able to relate to this ending. ❤

L May 26 2019 1:38 pm All I can say is... You must watch this!! You do not have to be into BL at all and still be completely absorbed by the storyline, actors, all of it. Sometimes I wondered when the actors were just method acting (in the movie) or actually falling for each other. The dark symbolisms were beautifully layered into this movie and everything just flowed. In shorter words, this movie was gorgeous!

i was surprised a lot by oh seung-hoon's acting! he did a job well done. he can be seductive or he can be creepy. amazing!

Daria Apr 03 2018 2:58 pm Woah, this movie is amazing. I wouldn't have expected such storyline from a Korean director. This has a strong American vibe, it feels like it's based on something but I can't put my finger on it.

It builds up really well and then hits you in 0.1 sec, the feels. I have no bad comments. Incredible actors, I was really surprised by Oh Seung Hoon since I haven't seen any of his previous work. Sung Woong, always delivers so can't expect any less from him. One of my favorite movies thus far.

You were able to fully understood the story, as you were watching and finish the play.. This movie was beautifully done and you can feel their characters! Congratulations!!!

astraa Jan 03 2018 10:34 am Jae Ha is a freak always into a character but when the other partner Young Woo went real into a character like him, Jae Ha went into a confuse state that Young Woo is having real emotion to him while both is actually in character. Then later in the show he noticed that Young Woo is just into the character and saved him while confused but I really question. Did Young won truly loved him. I thought he'll kill hae won just like the story to make it real for him to make Jae Ha into a real welston was it?

(they clearly touch this topic and its up to audience to evaluate if there were real feelings or it was just a "method") but behind BL this movie is so much more - highly recommend to watch and I have to add kiss scene is phenomenal (I assure you will put it to repeat

I don't want to spoil anything further but if that's what stopping you from watching it, you're crazy. This is one of the best acted movies I've ever seen. There is barely any dialogue but the actions are so rich and they add so much to the story. This isn't a 10/10, it's a 15/10. I'll say it again and will gladly repeat it fifty more times, this is one of the best movies I've ever watched. Don't miss out on it just because of the summarization.

Ginaddict Dec 29 2017 11:06 pm It's not BL at all. It was very well acted. Both actors shows excellent understanding of their roles. It will leave a question of, did it really happened, the feeling of love between them. Or it is really just a method to get into their characters.

It was overall a nice movie. If you want to see great acting, watch it.

I Squealed At The Kiss Part

It left me hanging at the ending that I wanted to understand it better after the movie ended but my brain can’t function :( but still wow especially this was the first ever movie of Oh Seung Hoon... great acting! woo

Look from the poster, so heavy with BL sense, but we didn't see it in the trailer and that is it! i've watching many BL movie&drama but this is the first time i doubted myself. Is it BL or not? Thriller or not? Real or not?

The story is so complex yet simple and give you big question mark in the head after the movie end. Haunting you until you watching again to understand it better. I like it!

Btw, i like Oh Seung Hoon! Despite he fresh rookie this year, he did damn good job as Young Woo. I think, he almost overshadow Park Sung Woong. Singer is really difficult role and he did it well! Some praised their chemistry but for me not, just so so. But their acting on stage play so good! The ending on point too!

If you like psycologhical theme, just try this one. Bear with the BL part because it just a little, but please see that legendary kiss scene. The kiss is they key.
