A story of two men: 40-something Gu Pil-Su (Kwak Do-Won) and 20-something Jung Suk (Yoon Doo-Joon).

Gu Pil-Su is a former boxer and he even won a rookie of the year award. He then worked different jobs and experienced ups and downs like working as a salesman, running an underwear store, and having credit problems. Now, he is in his 40's and runs a small bar. He is married and they have a son. He would do anything for his wife and son. He stills dreams of having success in life.

Jung Suk is extremely smart. His parents were poor and he grew up with them in a provincial city. Nevertheless, he was eventually accepted into the most prestigious university in Seoul. He believes the only to way to success is to be a founder of a start-up.

Notes

First acting role for Yoon Doo-Joon since he was discharged from the South Korean military on April 10, 2020.

Park Min Mar 07 2024 4:59 pm It had a pretty normal start with introducing the story and the characters, nothing about it peaked my interest. The story itself was too safe and tame, they didn't attempt any challenging situation even in a comedic setting. The comedy was a hit or miss, some parties were genuinely unfunny and cringe while others like Pil Soo and his one-liners were keeping it alive with a decent dynamic and comedy. Speaking of cringe, there were a handful of kids and everything related to them was painfully cringe, even with their poorly attempted satire and parody. These parts were just too bad. It kept this momentum throughout its entire runtime.

The relationships (friendships) were amazing esp between the two main leads. I love how they always stayed by each other's side and helped each other. It was refreshing and just pure. I am so happy I took the time to watch this drama.

At first I thought this was a drama about business and office. but no, this is a drama about life and family. I really like the compatibility between Yoon Doo-Joon and Kwak Do-Won.

I love every dialogue because it doesn't feel empty and always has weight. this drama also presents the kind of comedy that I like, small comedy scenes that make sense and no too much comedy.

this drama is the drama i was looking for. unusual drama. where the male character is poor, not female. then the two main male characters are made to live in one place (usually the male and female characters live in the same place).

for some reason I think Yoon Doo-Joon is more suited to have a male co-star than a female. because it is closer and feels harmonious. and Doo-Joon in 'Let's Eat' is still very much felt here.

Amanda Oct 02 2022 12:37 pm I love how heartwarming the main characters can be throughout all the difficulties they had and how they finally understand each other background and appreciate their talent. This drama shows how family is not necessarily built through blood bonding. Initially just want to warch it slowly without urge to finish it right away but it turned out i was hooked and enjoy binge watching it haha. Won't regret it a bit to.give it a try

This is a down-to-earth series that’s light-hearted and moves along at a cheery pace, while giving all its supporting actors a fair share of the spotlight.

The 2 main actors keep up a wonderful exchange of conversations between themselves throughout the series, due to their differences in age and family circumstances. Pil-Su is the older family man running a fried chicken business and Jung Suk is the young guy starting off in the IT industry.

The scriptwriter showed how the two guys slowly bonded despite Pil-Su being a little old-fashioned and not too IT-savvy, as he managed, through his spontaneous enthusiasm and having a thick skin, to suggest old-school ideas that Jung Suk ends up to integrate and apply in his tech start-up’s mobile app, despite his look of disbelief whenever Pil-Su first suggests them!

The 2 leads are ably supported by other actors like Han Go-Eun who played Pil-Su (Kwak Do-Won)’s wife, Jung Da-Eun who played the love interest of Jung Suk, and the 3 women who were hilarious in their parts as the “Moms’ Group”.

Definitely deserves the description and accolade of “heartwarming”!

I really enjoyed it . Great for teens to watch this type of dramas instead of sexually explicit, drug infested Hollywood dramas
