Set in the late 1990s, Hong Keum-Bo (Park Shin-Hye) is in her 30's and is an elite supervisor for the Financial Supervisory Service. She is a cool-headed, working woman who only thinks about her job. She goes undercover as a 20 year old high school graduate, Hong Jang-Mi, and begins to work for a securities company where suspicious flows of funds are detected. There, she meets Shin Jung-Woo (Ko Kyoung-Pyo). He is the new CEO of Hanmin Securities Company. Shin Jung-Woo is a natural-born management consultant and a corporate raider, who believes that only numbers are honest. He uses any means necessary to reach his goal. He meets Hong Jang-Mi, whose face is the same as Hong Keum-Bo, who he once loved. They become complicatedly entangled.

Bagu May 10 2026 5:05 pm I had such a great time watching this drama. It was absolutely hilarious, and I laughed so much throughout the whole series. Huge compliments to the cinematography — I think this is the first drama set in the ’90s that I’ve seen with such colorful visuals. It almost felt like watching a video game at times.

Park Shin Hye was amazing here. The whole undercover plot of a 35-year-old woman pretending to be a 20-year-old girl was incredibly funny, especially because everyone completely believed it.

I especially loved Ms. Hong and Albert together — they made me laugh so much. Ms. Hong’s scenes with her boss were hilarious as well. The dorm trio also did a fantastic job.

Honestly, I could talk about the entire cast individually because all of them were great and played an important role in making the story so entertaining.

Brian V Apr 23 2026 2:20 pm Magic Banana's, at 48 minutes in the first episode, Yun Jae-Beom grabs the basket of fruit to chase after Miss Hong, and the banana's fall out of the basket on the waiting room seat. When the camera angle immediately changes from the opposite direction, and Yun Jae-Beom falls to the floor with the fruit basket, the banana's have reappeared, and fall out onto the floor this time. Stuff like that makes me laugh, magic banana's.

First episode is slow and tedious. I do hope this show picks up and gets better. Don't count on the magic banana's to keep me entertained.

It’s everything you want, cast was amazing, every actor and actresses exceeded my expectations, the storyline is exceptional, the entire series was fun and hilarious, ohh and the mystery of yeppee. So glad it had 16ep and not 12.

They put expletives and profanity in English where there was None in Korean. Translators do not have the right to go off script. That is not what they're getting paid to do. Translate correctly or find another job!!

It was a refreshingly different mystery drama and the focus on the female friendships with no romantic storyline, was a nice change from the typical k drama. It was fun and I was sad to finish it because practically every main character was so great and I will really miss this cast of characters!

That aside, I think the 4 main actresses nailed their roles and are all interesting characters in their own way. Great chemistry and portrayal of friendship. Supporting actors did a wonderful job too. The first episode was boring for me but when Hong Keum Bo went undercover, it was freaking hilarious and was where the fun begins. I actually enjoyed all the bickerings and illegal stuff they did lol. Hope to see more of the cast in kdramas in the near future.

Olya_1004 Mar 12 2026 5:01 pm @Unbelievable Just because he was shown as a "clueless" guy doesn't mean Albert was stupid,he was just not interested in the family business and didn't show interest but he was never stupid. What he did to his dad in the end wasn't for love or friendship,he knew that what his family was doing was wrong and felt his uncle was wronged. He is by far not a backstabber just someone that wanted to repair what his family broke.

As for this drama,there is something so magical about kdramas that depict older eras. I am not a huge fan of historical dramas but dramas based in the 80s and 90s have been so good!. I loved Typhoon Family and A hundred memories too of recent releases and this one wasn't different. It was so fun and Park Shin Hye was amazing in this,she was a great lead and I never stopped rooting for her. Nora was also a favourite of mine,she was so sweet and naive but she also knew what was right and didn't let her family sway her into doing bad things. I hope there's a 2nd season,it looked like they were building up towards that but who knows. I. Will miss this drama

Also I see no reason why he decides to betray his family members for a friendship with a secretary assistant. Crush? Love? Affection? It's plain stupid.

It's easy to trust people like Shin Jung woo, but people like Albert are like back stabbers. If I come across a character like him in real life, I would avoid him.

ypirate Feb 22 2026 12:52 pm albert is such a scene stealer. always looking forward to him and miss hong. although they placed a past love line with ms hong and the president, the vibe is not giving that. and even though they placed a huge age gap diff between albert and miss hong, i actually prefer them just because i like their dynamics. it is balanced and they don't clash. their personalities kinda complement each other.

Anya Feb 22 2026 10:37 am Why're people debating the het ML/SML x FL?? Keum-bo x Bok-hee and Geum-bo x Mi-suk have as much bromantic moments as Albon x IT Lee. Keum-bo x Bok-hee in the firt episode even had a ML(Keum-bo) and FL(Bok-hee) moment. The drama, other than overtly referencing the names, has some Friends undertones in that you know the bromance and sismance is over and above everything else.

I really love all four of them, I love all of their friendship and Geumbo x Bokhee is so so so good written. Another relationship that I love is the Risk Management Dept (including Albert x Jangmi) and Jangmi vs Cha Jung Il.

And with eps 10 ended, I really dont like Shin Jungwoo as male lead, I saw him as the biggest antagonist ? yes not the chairman, the big antagonist is Shin Jungwoo and Song Juran, no matter what they will write or if theres a redemption arc, I dont want SJW to get back with Hong Geumbo. I want noona love instead because Albert Oh love line is so good.

I want to watch it in one shot though. I am always excited for Saturday and Sunday to come because of undercover Ms Hong.i wish there will be more of romantic scenes for the leads also to make it more excited. I am totally hooked with this kDrama. Episode 9 is so fantastic and becoming even more - a must to watch series. highly recommended ?

Hard Feb 08 2026 11:54 am Is it just me, I am unable to follow the accounting jargons that is being spoken. Investment, securities, stocks, bankruptcy, it's all greek and Latin to me so it is hard for me to follow this drama.

But looks like the male lead is up to no good. He seems to be one who had come to load his own pockets. It's like a just prosecutor went on to become a notorious lawyer. I'm interested in his pov. The female lead is such a sorry figure. Soon she will realise how her actions have impacted innocent employees in Hanmin, with Misook being one of them. There's no point in fighting the corrupt, because the powerful are all being corrupt only. It's only a matter of how corrupt a company is, not whether they are corrupt or not.

Kazari Feb 08 2026 11:16 am After 8 Episodes we barely saw the ML. There are very few interactions between the leads. The side characters have more screen time and dialoge than Ko Kyung-Pyo. That is kinda disappointing. I was hoping for more bickering and tension between the leads.

Albert is also suspicious. The way he cares not for the company and how he asks the new CEO to play both sides, I have a feeling that he's Yeppee. He must've been fond of his uncle. He's definitely a wildcard entry. The secretary Song will eventually betray the Chairman, because she realised that the Chairman is using her merely as a hunting dog to clean his dirt works.

Un modeste admirateur Jan 29 2026 9:56 pm «Undercover Miss Hong» reminds me of British comedies with its mix of slapstick humor, police investigation and absurd situations. I may not be the biggest fan of British comedies, but I find them enjoyable enough in the winter season, with a hot drink in your hand, while you are reading an article or working on something. In other words, «Undercover Miss Hong» is not a drama that will fully require your attention. The main character not only dresses as a 20-year-old, but acts and behaves as one as well. Only her body is that of a 35-year-old. Therefore, I doubt that «Undercover Miss Hong» will make you think too deep or question, for example, the undue pressure put on women to appear and sound younger than their age. Instead, the show is meant to always stay cozy and cutesy, which it does.

They purposely made her character innocent and dimwitted but something in my gut tells me she knows everything. Something as a revenge to her father who looks down on women or her. And I think she's close with her older half-brother previous president. I don't know lol just a feeling

Then I found out it’s the same director of Business Proposal. Now I know why each ep gets me glued to my screen.

Everything repeats itself at some point, with minor changes and variations due to different locations and actors. That's the life of a drama, film, or music. What is important is to appreciate and enjoy the small changes. It sounds funny, and both lead actors excel in comedic roles.
