Since joining a large company, Kim Nak-Su (Ryu Seung-Ryong) has worked tirelessly for the company and his family. As a result, he now holds the position of department manager and owns his own home, but he faces a turning point of his life. He loses everything that he considered valuable in an instant. v Jun 05 2026 1:37 am When I first saw this on Netflix, I wasn't interested. The good reviews I read made me try watching it. I'm glad I did. The story touched upon many realistic facets of an ordinary person's working life, aspirations and family relationships At times, Kim Naksu could be a very frustrating character and it was disheartening how unfortunate incidents seem to befall him one after another. He is a very flawed character who grew to accept the realities of his situation, learned to love his family more and became at peace with who he os and where he is in life. It was a bittersweet story that made me reflect on my own life and place in the world.

Mom property agent, dad unemployed, we always move from one house to another, savings are used for my dad health problems.

Dad ever get dizzy and faint in front of me and when we about to bring him to hospital suddenly he wake up and said "everything's alright nothing happen let's go back home"

He is very dictator and very strict. He love himself and also he will choose pride over everything. He doesn't really care what i like or what i want to do. As long as, it gives him pride. He will accept him. Oh also he want me to go his way, not my way, his way.

For Mr. Kim, he still help his wife to do the chores. While my dad will never touch any home chores, never help my mom or me, always asking to prioritize him, always need someone to be his assistant 24/h or he will disturb you until you scream and he will still disturb you. Also, he always said "this home from this spot to that edge is all because of me because i bought this home everyone should listen me"

But, i think i like Kim Nak Su better, while my dad is a toxic guy who married my mom because he need to reproduce.

Oh naksu will find a way to get money, while my dad will be stay at home dad, command everyone to listen and do for him, don't care what happen to you as long as you do what he says.

Febrylian Yovita Jan 20 2026 12:57 am At first I wasn't sure I would like this film, but after trying to watch a few episodes, I was curious and was very impressed with the moral story of this film, that we have to learn to accept ourselves, not just want to be more like what we dream of. I highly recommend this film.

Theresa Jan 14 2026 9:38 am I’m really going to miss Mr Kim & his family - one of the best dramas I’ve watched recently. Ryu Seung-ryong’s portrayal of Kim Nak-su was brilliant, and he truly deserves a Best Actor award. The storyline was well-crafted and thoughtfully written, with not a single boring episode. Unlike some good dramas with disappointing endings, this one was so nicely wrapped up (I love that “lunchtime” haha)! Highly recommended!

If an unsympathetic person were to portray Mr. Kim, then I might have a different opinion, but in summary: The perfectly glory of the day, when I sit down to watch the new episode. Congratulations, I hope the series will win awards!

Old Guy Nov 17 2025 2:04 am Kim's old school chauvinism and bravado was his downfall. But being a corporate animal all his life, he wasn't trained to be street smart in other arenas. Even when his jobless buddy advised him...his ego wanted to prove others wrong...after all he was a General Manager who's an expert in sales. Scammers have tailored tactics to handle targets who are "all knowing experts". 8 episodes for his fall...4 more episodes for his redemption...hopefully.

mike Nov 09 2025 11:08 am finished ep5. i look how this drama is going. the ML was sent to exile but he still thinks he got a chance. perfectly portrayed how disillusioned with this current gen old ppl..thinking they rule the world and always will have chance for them if they just remain as it is.
