Song Young-Dal (Cheon Ho-Jin) and Jang Ok-Boon (Cha Hwa-Yeon) have been married for many years and they have 4 children: Joon-Sun (Oh Dae-Hwan), Ga-Hee (Oh Yoon-Ah), Na-Hee (Lee Min-Jung) and Da-Hee (Lee Cho-Hee).

Third child Na-Hee is a doctor and she works with her husband Doctor Kyu-Jin (Lee Sang-Yeob) at the same hospital. They fell in love during their medical school days and got married, but their marriage life is not doing very well. Meanwhile, the first child Joon-Sun (Oh Dae-Hwan) and the second child Ga-Hee (Oh Yoon-Ah) are both divorcees and live with their parents. The youngest child Da-Hee struggles as an intern at a company.

Even though there's a plot that exists in makjang dramas, at least it's ironed out smoothly and not that extremely stressful. The cast really did their part flawlessly. I don't regret rewatching this drama over and over again.

Diyyah Dec 11 2024 1:02 pm I started hate this drama from the early 30s episodes. I think it has too many conflicts, making it unenjoyable for family k-drama. I used to enjoy this kdrama a lot until the journey of finding Yeong Dal's sister is getting complicated. It is super dramatic and unrealistic, as a watcher, i couldn't relate to this k-drama anymore. Also, the Hong girl is such a trouble maker. She is good to be punched, really.

I came here for Lee Sang Yeob (he is one great actor, so i knew its good to give it a try) but i left falling for Lee Sang Yi. I discovered him from this drama and then *BloodHounds and How do you play MSG wanna be sealed the deal for me^^

Overall i love how this drama is breaking the stereotype that your life ends when you're divorced or failed in marriage. You can always start again; be it with the same person (ofcourse after realizing what was wrong) or be it with the someone new.

I love na hee character she's very professional. all the casts from this drama did an awesome job except da-hee I hate her character portrayal thus I skip all her scenes.

Each character's storyline was interesting, and even though it was a long show, I did not skip a single scene. I would highly recommend giving this show a watch!

sinmin Jul 10 2022 2:07 pm I started this drama thinking it will be only for 16 episodes and was surprised to see there were 50 episodes! I was ready to watch them all excited. I binged watched and completed 45 episodes in a week. This is my first family kdrama and I enjoyed it. However, the last 5 episodes were very dragged and could have been cut short. There were unnecessary scenes in the last 5 episodes. I wasn't too fond of the doctor couple's story as both their characters were poorly written, with the guy being whiny all the time and the wife being too vain. The 2nd lead couple (Da hee and Jae sok) story was cute and funny. The mothers of the show seemed very toxic, but I guess it did show reality of how asian mothers generally are. Overall good drama, 4 stars.

Been postponing to watch this drama since 2020 because of how long it was,finally watched it because of Lee min Jung and all I can say is that it's definitely in my top 10. This drama was simply heart warming and a breath of fresh air Loved every bit of it,it made me feel all types of emotions,from laughter to anger The Yoon brothers where just too hilarious,loved watching them,ok ja and chi so's relationship was so cringy to watch? My best heart felt moment has to be when soe Jin finally talked,legit brought me into tears. Shipped ga hee and your shin? loved na hee and gyu jin too,and I loved how they changed and became better people for themselves after the divorce Loved the love hate relationship of the 2 mothers? This is very beautiful drama and this is my favourite drama of 2020 and up till now. The weekend dramas after Once Again can't beat to this one. AJ Jan 13 2022 8:28 pm @Oppa: I agree wholeheartedly with everything that you wrote. "Once Again" is a proof that, although perhaps not easy, it is possible to create a high-quality long family drama.

"Once Again" is a long family drama with these positive attributes, which regretfully are not always found in other dramas in the same category:

1. Outstanding storylines and plots, as well as outstanding performance from actors and actresses that portray not only the primary, but also secondary characters.

2. Very minimal use of "makjang" elements.

3. Depicting lives of common people, ordinary middle-class people -- aspirations, struggles, love-life, up-and-down in friendship, and so on. No stereotypical stories of rich CEOs or wealthy businessowners with his / her chauffeurs, secretaries, etc.

4. Not relying on tired and old plots, subplots, and premises, such as: Amnesia, rejection to relationships between people from different socio-economic classes, long-lost heirs of rich CEOs, etc.

5. No depiction of violence, crime, and foul-play, especially those that end up unpunished.

6. No portrayal of exclusively-women as villainous or abhorrable characters (an outdated practice that borders on being misogynistic).

It's nearly two years since "Once Again" started its original run, and yet here I am, still enjoying its encore run at KBS World. Re-watching this drama is much more enjoyable than watching the one that is currently occupying its weekend time-slot.

As you rightly pointed out at the conclusion of your writing, it will be quite some time before a long drama of similar quality could be produced by KBS; indeed, "Once Again" has set the bar quite high, with regards to long family dramas.

Oppa Jan 04 2022 8:22 pm Once Again is a very beautiful family drama. Delivering the highest ratings for 2020, it gave the much needed glimmer of hope and optimism that people needed in the midst of the uncertainties due to the pandemic.

The title is also very appropriate and fitting for its cast, allowing a second chance--a "once again" for the entire Song family. For Na Hee and Gyu Jin, they once again went back into each other's arms, each of them realizing that they truly love each other and that their divorce was due to unresolved communication issues. For Joon Soon and Hyun Kyung, they also once again became a family, understanding each other's flaws and supporting their interests. For Ga Hee, it was once again finding love--albeit a younger man--and once again finding a chance to be successful. Finally, for Da Hee, it was once again returning to school and completing her degree, and once again finding someone who would truly love her.

For me, this is one of the best--if not the best--family drama from KBS, and there are definitely a lot of KBS family dramas that are absolute gems. One only needs to let go of their biases regarding long dramas and they'll love this drama. It definitely will take a while before KBS produces a drama that is on par with the story, the meaning, and the impact of Once Again.

Episode 9 - as much as I would like to watch this, I can no longer tolerate the mega condescending attitued of NaHee! Really! How she treats a lot of people eapecially her husband (ex-husband) who I find nice and sweet if obnoxious at times! I would like to continue watching because of KyuJin but I have my patience and NaHee just reached my patience...

I can understand what you feel -- I personally somewhat still enjoy the series (although I dislike the cringeworthy, rushed, unnatural, and enforced feel-good ending), but it can be said that "Revolutionary Sisters" does indeed split opinions.

All in all, "Once Again" is among the gold standards, when it comes to weekend family drama.

Zuly Sep 23 2021 10:18 am This is the longest drama I watch so far. I usually avoid watching a long drama. Still in Episode 7, but the plot and the acting the stars deliver are amazing. At first, I didn't expect much, I predicted I would be able to watch only Episode 1, yet I am still watching now. Lee Sang-yeob was the first reason why I want to try to watch, but after watching episode one, I become fall in love with the drama as a whole. For Lee Sang-yeob, if you read this comment, "이상엽 씨, 너 왜 잘생겼다? 너무 너무 좋아해! Marry me, 주세요! 사랑해!"

AJ Aug 23 2021 1:51 am Many might disagree with me, but in my opinion, the "fake aunt" story-arch is an essential part of this series. Firstly, it makes everyone appreciates the real aunt even more. And secondly, despites all the misdeeds she has done, at the end it was her who points the way to the real aunt.

skrrrt Aug 13 2021 9:40 am first time watching such a long drama since high kick 3 (which was several years ago). it’s not easy watching 100 episodes, so i think i just always avoided dramas that seemed too long. but this is such a great drama and i can’t stop watching!! i just wanna say the acting is so amazing. like SO GOOD. each character played their role so well and each episode gets me hooked even more.

I love the one parents, Chun Ho Jin and Cha Hwa Yeon, they have great chemistry. So convincing, they reminded me of my own parents. I hope they work together again soon as a couple.

Steffanie May 28 2021 3:26 am I thought I would get bored somewhere in the middle of watching this because there are 100 episodes. However, I was surprised how exciting each episode was. There weren't any slow developments or boring moments.

Da Hee - Jae Seok was my favorite couple. I also liked the love triangle between Kang Cheo Yeon - Yang Chi Soo - Jang OK Ja. Although I kind of hoped Yang Chi Soo would end up with Kang Cheo Yeon.

All the main characters are very charming. The Song family, their adopted house tenants, the in laws, the Kimbap unnis, the Jang OK Ja- Yang Chi Soo couple, the kids, I love all of them!

I loved every second of it; so well thought through, and every little detail was meaningful and served the purpose to illustrate a given point. Excellent example of a truly Korean drama, with its own style where comic sticker and sound effects don't detract from the really intense and serious topics that can move one to tears. I was a bit sad when it finished, but happy sad!

Anyway, i enjoyed watching this a lot of positve vibes. It feels good watching family oriented shows it brings back my childhood days. This is 4th time ive watched family kdrama 1. You Smile 2. Father is Strange 3. What happens to my family.

But I felt mr Yoon and Da-hees relationship was cute they are young and optimistic and excited and I think that is what most young fresh couples who havent had many serious relationships are like. I loved the middle sister and the attic room guys relationship 2nd, his relationship with her and her son was handled maturely and I think that's what every single mum would hope for. I havent finished it yet but I hope it works out for them Also the aunt/great aunt from the gimap shop I think she was a really good believable actress. Especially after her monk fathers death. She seemed more real. I think to have that development of character shows how good an actor is. I felt the eldest sister and her husband/exs relationship was tricky at best. Landed into a lot of questionable stereotypes. Smart women must be cold, men must not show feelings, If a pregnancy has issues it must be the womans fault. All poorly poorly done in my opinion at no fault of the actor but the writer or director or whoever is in charge of reading the room that is 2021 and how young people will see it as extremely distasteful. Lastly I did enjoy the brother songs character but again I feel that was due to the actor being charismatic and I felt like I grew to like his character because of his acting. I felt the other 2 guys in the attic were pointless but it makes sense for the characters to have friends and not be totally isolated other than there family. I also felt the sister in law with the bows her boyfriend the butcher I felt his character was weak but he made it as good as it could be in the moments he got.

I wanted to skip through it and get to the good stuff. But understand it was to build up the fathers and aunts reunion and to act as a filler. But for me it was silly. I felt the 2 brothers relationship was kind of annoying for me and the mothers seemed so immature for their age but I know some famil and wrapped up in their relationship. I felt the way her son reacted to the new guy was very sweet and thought out well. I havent finished but I hope it works pjt for them.m es are that way. I loved nahee and mr. Yoons relationship best closely followed by the middle sister with her son and the attic room guy

I felt it was realistic of young optimistic couple to be excitable and wrapped

I will admit it was all the things to do with the older members of the cast, I really didn't care what happened to their characters. Except for Mr. Kang and Mr. Song, they were irritating. The mothers, the neighbors and the sisters got on my nerves most of the time. But all of the siblings storylines were great. I really enjoyed rooting for them. My favorite relationship was actually the Yoon brothers'. How can grown, professional men still behave like that towards each other? It was hilarious in almost every interaction.

Erica Jan 30 2021 12:50 am First comment...Far far far far far too many episodes. I skipped many in the middle and it didn’t break the storyline at all. The stand out performance and the relationship of most interest was between Na Hee and Gyu Jin. They experienced tragedy, break up and reconciliation. They grew and changed, they acted well and are good looking. Also the mother of the boys, Kim Bo Yeon (Mrs Choi) acted so well and grew and changed. I watched her relationship with Na Hee change with interest. The younger daughter Da Hee and the younger brother were so annoying, hysterical all the time, excitable and superficial. They were given too much time. Na Hee’s parents, a bit predictable, especially the Dad.

The actors to watch for in the future for their talent are Lee Sang Yeob and Lee Min Jung (who by the way is married to Mr Sunshine, what a couple) and not to forget Kim Bo Yeon - great work. Writing good, just keep it shorter.

In once again congratulatios to the cast and staff .. I like the story, the brotherhood of the dr's, the loving parents, aunties, the camaradery of members of the market.. They won several award and you deserved it. Ihope kbs will have another kdrama like this that you will not bore but rather you will wait for the next episode..some of the topic is like here in the philippine the hospitality, the love for the family ans frienship. The writer is good with comedy but I skipped several episodes which just felt like a drag, especially the ones involving the cross affair of the doctors ex-couple. Song Na-Hee's character is a bit overbearing and frustratingly clueless at times. The new director (played by Alex) is cringy and Otherwise, great comic timing and lot of good family moments. I must say that I skipped a lot of episodes . I watched the last two to find out the ending .

I would recommend, but people may find some episodes boring ....it does have a happy ending though.

Though they aren't given much screentime still I always anticipate their scenes together. With regards with fake sister thingy, it's quite unideal coz it simply ruins the show. The main leads give justice to their respective roles. It just that Nahee's personality is somewhat harsh and overbearing. It's good that she slowly changes when they stay apart from each other.

I am hoping for a Season 2 that focuses on the romance between Gahee and Hyosin as main leads and will also highlight the romantic arc of Auntie Youngsuk (Choyeon) and the handsome director. It doesn’t have to be another 100-episode show. Maybe the standard 16 episodes will do. It would also be nice to see some snippets of Okja and Chisu as married couple too.

I think the arcs of the Nahee-Kyujin, Dahee-Jaeseok, Junsun-Wifey (sorry forgot her name haha!) already came in full circle. But I still hope to see them as recurring cast.

This drama is such a delight to the heart. My weekends will never be the same.

I realy wanted to see more of Ga Hee and Hyo Sin! They had such amazing chemistry and the most mature relationship of them all! All of the relationships were amazing from our main couple to the supporting couple. Each sibling fought hard for their love and ended up happy in the end in spite of setbacks!

I really miss this drama already! I wanted it to keep going!!

I feel like Ga Hee and Hyo Sin deserve more story. They were soooooooooooooooo amazing together and I loved their little family. I just want more!!

They have chemistry despite their age gap. I'm just disappointed that they have given lesser screen time compared to the other couples. They already have rising attention from fans internationally. Their ending is open ending. I hope there is Season 2 coming.

The speed of it is good as well, things don't progress too slow or too fast. Wish it went on for longer but now we have one more week of it. Also watched Lee Min Jung and Cheon Ho Jin in "Smile, You" (also recommend this - fun and light hearted family drama) so it was great to see the father and daughter duo reunite in this!! Hoping KBS continues with more dramas like this!!

to: curiosity kills the cat Aug 30 2020 3:04 pm i also never watch these kinds of lengthy dramas because of the plot, but this one, I have to say I don't regret watching it at all. so far I am up to date and never missed a weekend without watching this drama. i'd say this drama is more healing and heartwarming than other lengthy dramas (I cried lots of happy and sad tears), and it's not that slow paced either. usually lengthy dramas have this weird plot of a missing child or a super rich step mom/dad or a tragic business bankruptcy and weird stuff like that, but this drama is solely focused on 2 families, both with a pretty average lifestyle, and their work/love lives. so if you're looking for a drama that has a realistic plot with loving, emotional scenes, i'd say give it a try. :)

I do think there’s something wrong with a guy gyu jin after reading all the comments and see it from other perspective. Not that I don’t want him to end up with Na hee, but if this is real person, I will really think hard about him. I felt like he’s a little bit whiny. All he does is whine. Since from beginning. Even when Na hee asked for a divorce, he just whined and agreed without acknowledging his feelings first. Then when even Na hee got together with other guy, he whine up until the point he fall sick. Then after he got together with Na hee, then he whine to her mom to married. To think about it, he never fight for na hee instead if Na hee herself that realizes her true feelings for him. Yes now he fight for their marriage but still in a whiny way.

Regarding his relationship with his mom, I don’t really blame him, but instead the director. The director should take some time to focus on the scene why Gyu Jin really annoyed with his mom but instead the drama only focuses on na hee family household. I guess we the viewer really didn’t felt what Gyu Jin felt toward his mother because it doesn’t really been highlighted much. But still, Gyu Jin also at fault for not wanting to mend his relationship with his mom at first place. I felt if Gyu Jin just treat his mom like a normal busy son, then everything okay. Just like Jae Sook relationship with his mom. Sure he get annoyed sometimes, but it seems like his mom felt his presence that she really doesn’t bother him much compared to gyu jin that his mom always had to chase him around just to talk to her son.

Also, this is just my opinion. Even if his mom are socially active with the community, I don’t think she can get rid of her clingy behaviour. It’s not the same between receiving the love from other people compared to your son. I also kinda felt a little bit sad when gyu jin only goes and caring for na hee parents instead of his own. Well I don’t see the latest episode yet. But I think the mom’s illness gonna turn the table. Let’s see how it goes ok!

and please do not be offended by this. I still love the couple and wish them to be together. This is just something that have been on my mind that I need to let it out!

Some people you get along with all the time some people it’s an off and on thing. He is a freakin doctor. He is paying taxes. No idea why she doesn’t trust him. She was needy. Particularly cause the other son left the country. Perhaps because her husband is dead. Don’t know why she doesn’t throw self into work or make friendships with other merchants. Why doesn’t she go to the dancing like the dried fish lady, butcher and chairman? Volunteer at the orphanage with the others? Say to her son and DIL Let’s have lunch or dinner every Sunday? Or the park at the river every other sat afternoon? The chicken chairman’s family has family dinner. Her illness could have been approaching and effecting her relationships with them.

I think I just don’t like the idea that parents are never wrong and children always at fault. I think in this world there are parents who abuse children, physically and emotionally. Are they automatically worthy of respect because they are mothers and fathers? The simple act of birth is not what warrants respect. It creates and obligation to that child but not for the child to the parent. Caring for a child, loving them, protecting them, teaching them to survive in a hard world and still be kind and forgiving, giving them an example of how to be a good husband or wife and a good parent, teaching them patience and tolerance, these are the things that make a parent worthy of love, respect and admiration. Perhaps that is a western view, perhaps I just had a good relationship with my parents, but I believe even in family relationships, respect and admiration are earned.

Maybe because coming from an asian community where parents should always be respected that’s why I kinda shocked of it. If this is an american show then I get it. But it’s unacceptable in asian culture. I will rooting for gyu jin if this is some kind of makjang drama where the mom was ridiculously evil. But gyu jin mom had her reason. All her son ignored her. That’s why she become clingy. I think it’s everybody fault here even Na Hee. Because apparently, how can gyu jin mom can be close to Da hee instead. She just needs some loves from all his son. There are several scenes where gyu jin rejects her mom’s call. I think that’s rude, and I think if Na hee and gyu jin even putting a little bit more effort to give some love to his mom in the first place, these things won’t happened in the first place and his mom won’t feel so abandoned that she had to keep clinging to her son.

Okay let’s say if she try to understand gyu jin feelings first. We all knew that Na hee was really not an ideal daughter in law even at first marriage. They even got divorce. Which mom would just gladly let her son to enter second marriage again with the same person without feeling any doubt. Na hee was never cold and unemotional, she was a straightforward person. Which shows how she was able to cope with her MIL at first place. But she just couldn’t take it and get divorce.

Question is, if your children want to get remarried with the same person, do you think that its logical that their parent won’t object and just instantly convinced that things will never repeated itself.

Yes, this is a lack of communication problem. But not just between gyu jin and nahee, but also his mom. If you’re coming from a background where in law really doesn’t matter, you must think that all of these are ridiculous. But in asian especially South Korea, you’re not just married to your partner, but also their family.

He has said so several times in different ways now, and he knows it is why he suffered by losing her. As for the mother, why does she get a pass. Is she blameless? That is her son she is yelling at. I was shocked at her behavior. Shouldn’t she try to understand him first? When it comes to her children’s souses, she has no concept of anyone else’s feelings but her own or how destructive her behavior is. She was a major factor in her son’s marriage falling apart and never saw it. It was her coldness and lack of understanding. Where do you think Na-Hee learned to be so cold and unemotional. Not her family, but the mother in law she lived with.

Why he married her. Good dramas are built when the are multiple strong relationships, and not just the romantic kind. The loss of a child effects men as well. Why are the men’s feelings ignored?

I mean of course the drama highlight him as a perfect guy for na hee, but seriously in real life I will doubt him. First of all na hee’s mom kind of right on point when she doesn’t believe him after she left na hee suffered after her miscarriage. That’s a red flag. Of course they were now deeply in love now, who wouldn’t say that things not going to happen again. Ok, let’s put trust in them. But when the scene where gyu jin yells at her mom, I kind of shock at his behaviour. That is his mom. He never want to understand her mom at first. He always brushes off his mom all this while. Yes, his mom can be too much sometimes but still, that’s his mom.

RAZ Aug 10 2020 3:45 pm Episodes 77-80 were the best yet. The beginning of ep.79 I was laughing so hard that my cat ran away from me to go sleep in the next room, and then ep.80 made me cry. This drama is just the best. None of my most favorite actors are in this...however, I had seen all of them in other dramas. Now, I love all of the actors in this and look forward to seeing them in other dramas. Although I am really going to be sad when this one is over.

Kris Aug 01 2020 7:16 am GaHee has a fine work ethic. She worked as a flight attendant and in Korea that is a bit of an impossible field to get into. Parenting is not a lack of work ethic. Korea is notorious for terrible work hours. She can’t take her baby on a flight or find a 24 hour day care while she is working a flight. She would be more than happy to go back even as a trainer but in her field they do not hire women who left work a few years for raising kids. That should be where the criticism should be placed. Her cheating spouse was the breadwinner and the cause for the marriage failing. Not her. I do wonder why the elder son can’t work in the chicken place. The money from that housed his exwife and kids, paid for his daughter therapy and academies for daughter and grand daughter, feeds 10 people, houses 10 other people and help supports an orphanage. When she wasn’t working she was not only managing her sons schedule but also watching her nieces. And yes she is perceptive.

She's the first one to realize the fake aunt is a bad person, while Da Hee is too stoopid and Na Hee doesn't give a damn. I was hopeful the character would barely get airtime and misunderstanding would quickly get resolved since she isn’t even mentioned among cast here, even in the others category. Why isn’t she mentioned here? There are several cast members in only two episodes mentioned here. She was in the first drama I ever watched in 2008 and her character was likable. I think somewhere along the way she got cast as a villain. She has not been away from the industry for a while.

With the older brother story has been reconciled with his ex wife, and the double laws couple been revealed. I don't know what else I'm excited about. The older sister story also been kinda very slow with a stale and no expression. They should really create a more interesting ex husband character to give a sense of more exciting love rivalry between him and hyo sin but he just a sore loser which just a simple arc in the story. At this point of time, I don't know which direction else that the story will bring us.

Some scenes are spot on and funny and emotional but they have got to join the long separate brother and sister ASAP and not wait until episode 98 or even 70. Just do it.

I’d like some scenes in the future toward the end. They can spend time on upstairs family. Give the doctor couple a baby and we could watch it grow a few years. Have last one and dentist marry and live with in-laws and have a baby. This drama could be up there with five children and my golden life. The writer is putting too many delays into the brother and sister reunion.

What is with all the lending and asking for money all the time. The missing sister, the elder son and daughter....? I hope since she isn’t even listed in the cast above she will leave as quickly as she came. I’m disappointed in the writer, so many good scenes like the little girl talking and the monks funeral but my heart can’t take the brother sister issue and the handling of the eldest family. Let’s have dozens of good episodes with the family growing. I do wish they would stop the advertising. Obvious a vitamin company and items you find in vending machines are getting ridiculous product placements. Is forced drinking still a thing? I was so excited when the doctor put her boss in his place about the drinking and then the little sister forced to drink with classmates disappoints.

If the drama at the very first end had a more complicated storyline, then maybe yes, extend it for a few episodes.

But actually, it has a really simple plot so there's no need. I am very frustrated of how drag-gy the drama is getting. The father's missing sister part of the drama should have been revealed early, like at ep 55+. Now that it's coming on 60+, it's...sighs.

It's not an unlikeable drama, just that some bits are annoying hehe. I really enjoyed Nahee-Kyujin, Dahee-Jaeseok, Gahee-Hyoshin moments!

Yet, in her first meal with Gyu Jin there was no trying. Twice he attempted to do nice things for her, and twice she rejected them. How is he supposed to change if she shuts down any affectionate behavior that isn’t like his old self she hated. It was a bit sad that it wasn’t until she was asleep that he could finally show her affection.

I know I’m picking on her, but it wasn’t just her. The moment they were together for ten seconds he became prickly, acting smug, defensive, and contradicting her for no apparent reason. It was nice to see them get back together, and some of what he said about emotions kept inside was beautiful and perfect. It showed he understood where he was wrong, but honestly it didn’t jive with his actions. And a lot of their interaction made me cringe at how dysfunctional it was. It was like they were both trapped in there old way of reacting to one another, so even though they both knew better, they couldn’t help it.

It’s making me very curious as to how it will all work out for the main couple.

Harold Jul 13 2020 5:36 am LSY I think he's a good actor, but the interaction he had with Lee Kwang Soo in RM made me a fan of him, LMJ she's beautiful but at the same time I hate all the characters I've watched her play, Big, You Smile and again in "Once again." What made her character tolerable was the director, we noticed a slight change in behaviour around him she was less bitchy, the same way Na Hee gave the director a chance, Kyu Jin instead of being mopey all the damn time he could've dated Bo Young. Da Hee and Jae-Seok is the best couple, I was furious when the writer add that blonde punk trying to mess with their relationship but the confession she made to Jae-Seok it was worthawhile. Ga Hee and delivery guy I like them separately but together Idk, it's not about the age gap, perhaps because he's a rookie actor, his character hasn't showed me enough maturity to handle a relationship with a single mother emotionally scared from being cheated on by her ex-husband. Joon Sung and Hyun- Kyeong had me heartbroken on several occasions, when I thought they were getting back together, the most adorable girl in K-dramas decided to hurt herself. Now, my man following around his precious adorable kids to make sure they're okay. ???

She told her daughter not to go see her father ??? I hate how much I can't hate her, what a roller coaster  of emotions I am experiencing with these two.

Kang Cho Yeon amongst the more mature cast she's my favourite character, hopefully, the sibling conundrum gets resolved soon, I wish she could've dated Chi-soo maybe they still can end up together. Choi Young Jung is the most adorable mother in K-drama, the relationship she's with Da Hee is so good can't wait for her reaction when she finds out, although, she might overact at first, upon rethinking she'll accept it with open heart.

FINALLY i’ve been waiting for sadon couples kiss scene for so long, i screamed when i saw it happen !!! but now i’m kind of scared because gyujin and na hee have also got together, when the parents find out there will be chaos!!! i hope sadon couple does not have to take the toll for gyujin and nahee :(( honestly, hyo shins actor is kind of lacking in acting skills, and he is basically a rookie actor while ga hees actress is very experienced and also very talented. although i feel like hyo shins acting is bringing down the gahee-hyoshin couple down a little, i still feel they are cute.

Definite favorite is Ki Dohun, the Gong Yoo lookalike (gorgeous) who I actually hope they put with the down to earth oldest daughter Gahee. Way too big an age gap but, dang there is chemistry there!

Being anti-social is fine but the fact that she doesn’t know how uncomfortable people are around her, just not my kind of character. There are enough selfish and apathetic people out there already. Her glasses sister and ex brother in law are more appealing to me. Just because you’re “pretty,” doesn’t appeal to me. People put up with so much when “pretty” people are around. Everyone is like oh those guys are so pretty...so what? Looks fade and then they just become old selfish people...all around the world. The rest of the characters, meh. I do like the older lady who used to own a bar though. She’s an amazing character.

Mel Jul 09 2020 10:02 pm @scid, I assumed that you did not watch all the 30 episodes (or 60 episodes if it's half hour ones) cause if you watch it, you can see that nahee actually still cares for gyujin.. it's just the miscommunication between the both of them that they tend to misinterpret each other's feelings.. for e.g. nahee thinks that gyujin no longer care for her since the "accident" (sorry, do not want to give much spoilers to those who has yet to watch).. & gyu jin always think that nahee likes to find trouble with him, arguing with him & etc.. also, she's not "interested" in the director; she already told him that she plans on making use of him to forget her feelings for gyujin (which obviously not working).. i think you need to re-watch all the episodes back before commenting.. as nahee isn't in this drama just to "torture" gyujin but they both were indirectly torturing or hurting each other to be precised due to the lack of communication..

Characters in stories yearn and dream and have to go through heartache to get what they want. What does Na-Hee want? The director? I don’t think so. She has so little passion for him that she won’t even kiss him. Her ex? No, There’s no burning desire for him either or she wouldn’t have suggested a divorce and be dating someone else? Her family? No, theres no unbreakable bond there, or else she wouldn’t even be considering a job in America. Her dream of going to America? That wasn’t on her radar until this last episode. In the end she has nothing that animates her, that gives her existence purpose and meaning. So there’s nothing for us to want to see her get, and that just makes her seem like her only reason for being in the story is to torture Gyu Jin

I know it’s a family/soap drama but legit I have seen less predictable stories. it didn’t even try to set itself apart from the preceding dramas. ok maybe the concept of a whole family of divorcees is different but that’s that. They have recycled everything possible. My apologies but Da-Hee and Jae seok’s love line is extremely cringe. Cuz no main characters get lesser screen time than them lol. once again my apologies gahee and hyoshin’s love, I can’t deny that the idea is quite cute but they are kinda lacking in chemistry. Kris Jul 04 2020 2:13 pm The writer is being lazy with the eldest sons family matter. This need not drag on. We have seen scenes where the mom is given an impossible work task or lose work. The dad was doing the same. Here is why it’s lazy writing. Every other person needed to create that reshoot was already on site when director called the stunt guy and insisted he show up that day or they won’t be able to air it on time. The air on time I believe they should not air while shooting the series. They should shoot the series and then air it. Terrible work culture don’t remind viewers in countries with labor laws. But I call baloney on his having an hour to decide to take her cause he can’t get a sitter. I also don’t understand how her busy grandparents and aunt who watch the little girl while working don’t lose her but the sister and dad manage to. The man committed financial infidelity losing their house with the loan. Losing his job would be losing his family all over again as well. What is it with writers of these dramas. Not the first to berate a gram or dad over a kid getting a skinned knee while playing. How is it people in their late 30’s or older are so freaked out by a Stich or scraped knee? Or a fever? Do people die after contracting a fever in a matter of hours in Korea? It’s run to hospital for a shot. But go to work if you have signs of a heart attack or cancer? I was so excited that even in divorce both parents had access to kids and her in-laws and the mom didn’t act as strangers.

Love Jae Seok and Da Hee also. I felt all that, 'sif I was them hahaha. They made me "kilig"... And the part where Da Hee confessed, Lee Sang Yi`s (who plays Yoon Jae Seok) facial expression... That transition from one emotion to another, was just sooo good. He's a good actor.

I really look forward to Song Young Dal & Kang Cho Yeon's reconnection as siblings. I wish it will be sooner, cos they've suffered for so long.

As for me, I'm gonna try my best to refrain from watching this and come back when like, Episode 98 is available... And it's a Saturday and Episode 99 is showing on that night lol... Gonna go pretend this drama doesn't exist for the mean time hahahahahaha

Just wanna say that I love all the characters. Well, I guess except for the two market ladies who kept stirring trouble (rumormongers are the worst lol) and Gyu Jin's first love (BUT only after the porridge incident. That was shady and quite immature. I kinda felt bad for her initially cos as the flashback showed, seems like she was supposed to confess to Gyu Jin on the day Gyu Jin & Na Hee's story started.) That porridge wasn't hers to deal with. Whether it was to be thrown or consumed, that should have been Gyu Jin's decision. But who knows, maybe she just left it outside and someone else took it

Gern Jun 29 2020 3:30 pm gyujin-team. Thanks. They both say they tried hard to make it work, but it just seems like that translated into suffering while not knowing how to heal their relationship. I think we just witnessed some progress on his part as he says no to another relationship. He now realizes he still loves her and the reality of not having her. I only see a few options for him now: suffer through the pain he knows is coming as he watches another man become more and more intimate with the woman he loves, or get out of that situation by changing jobs. I fear the latter makes the most sense for him.

For her, I haven’t really seen much of any change except to start over and supposedly try harder. Given how hard she said she tried before to make her marriage work, I don’t see that as a big change. In my opinion, she really hasn’t learned anything or grown. She is starting over with all the same issues as before but with someone who probably doesn’t love her as Gyujin does. Whatever the case, the ball seems to be in her court now. At a minimum, she needs to realize dating one man when her heart clearly still lies with another is a mistake.

If you have been struggling with marital problems for that long and your wife asks for a divorce, if you want her to be happy, you only have two choices, try to talk her into some drastic measure (like couples therapy) or let go. Hanging on while nothing changes is childish and selfish, it will only make her more miserable. Right now he has no options, trying to get her back into the exact situation that made her miserable is not an option. It would be selfish to pursue her when it will only makes her unhappy. So all he can do is be miserable while he tries to get over it.

The exdoc acts so much like we saw his ex wife acting in the scenes with him and his brother in the apartment. Neither doc couple led the single mom or director on. They have been quite clear their head isn’t ready for a relationship. These are people if still married happily they would be talking to and that is all they want. Even the director said publicly in front of ex and other subordinates that his love is one sided for Na Hee. I love there are several couples in this drama and even nonromantic relationships like the brother and sister. I swear that old lady in the market is the mom. That would be a shock right? I also like the three grandkids are getting proper scenes and are not just props.

Her relationship with the director only seems perfect because she hasn’t yet publicly humiliated him by contradicting his medical opinion in front of others (or on national television,) and he has not yet gotten fed up with her refusing to acknowledge his reasonable complaints (such as not making him late for work.) Both will come to a head because they are habits from her old relationship that she has never seen as a problem.

I also suspect that as Yoon Gyu-jin gains distance from their old relationship, he will begin to return to his old happy self that was originally everything she wanted (we have already seen this some when he played with the young boy.) The contrast will be hard for her on many levels, and may even force her to come to grips with her role in their unhappiness and its implications for her future.

I’m not saying similar things may not happen to Yoon Gyu-jin because he is not blameless in all this. He may eventually see his role in making her unhappy, but I just think the happiness with the director is a short lived illusion until her old relationship habits manifest in her new relationship.

Gyujin-team Jun 21 2020 10:10 am @Hern and @Ann, I agree so much with you! i've always shipped them and my heart broke for them when i saw their deep love was overshadowed by the unhealthy attitudes and poor communications.. since the beginning i've been saying that instaed of seeing love rivals, i wanted to see both of them look back at what happened, self-criticize, realise what they did wrong and why their relationship went wrong..they need character development and maturity to face each other and mend their broken relationship.. divorce was never the answer.. and getting back together after seeing each other with new partners is too shallow and won't mend the relationship.. what they need is time and sel-reflection and growth.. only then they can face each other, be mature enough to admit to their wrong and put hand in hand to start again leaving the toxicity behind.. i really hope we can see that soon

Why would she come back to being miserable just because he asked? And he clearly wants her to be happy so why would he ask her to come back to a relationship that made her miserable? Their only hope is for her to realize she made a mistake in suggesting the divorce and see her part in making them unhappy. I think Kyu-Jin never really wanted the divorce, but he too has to see his part in making her unhappy and see how he can do better. Only then will each be ready to try again.

monbb Jun 03 2020 2:40 pm the one thing i love the most about this drama is the main actor or actress is NOT part of the chaebol. istg i had enough with those chaebol kinda storyline esp in the family drama with longer episodes. this drama hits differently i tell you bcs people can relate to this as they arent rich, they need to work hard ass off to afford something, there are kids from divorced parents, also showing how the busy-ness can kill your relationship, student who failed in the past but still enrolling in the university despite her old age, parents that having a lot of difficulties having unlucky divorced kids and everything is just great as many people can relate to these variety of situations. the storyline is just smooth and not too rushing.

another thing is this drama doesnt involve 3,4,5 etc. families. If you watch a lot of family dramas just like this, you'll get tired easily by how these 3,4,5,6 and lot of families being connected like this and that. but in this drama there only 2 main families that being focused on. Watch this, pinky promise you'll never regret it.

I know more than anyone that the things your partner/crush used to love in you at first can slowly change and seem unattractive by time when you are in a relationship. Actually a boy who had a crush on me had the same attitude as the director. he seemed so open-minded and loved everything about me even the things that would seem "unattractive" ( i have much of na hee character, hot tempered, straightforward.. so I really relate to her and i'm not apreciated by everyone.), he also was willing to wait for me to open up to him and never rushed me or crossed the line. he seemed flawless and perfect like this director. but after being together for quite while he started to say 'i changed' and complaining about the same things he used to aprreciate. i didn't change, it is just his way of seeing me changed. and the relationship ended in the worst way possible with him losing all interest and doing all sorts of hurtful things to make me leave him.

=> my point here: the director isn't necessarily like my ex-boyfriend and he can be that awesome man now and later, but to judge him in that short period of time and even compare him to gyu jin who shared a long term relationship with Na hee that started from college up to a three years of marriage is unreasonable for me. I think they lasted that long because they surely resonated well with each other and cherished each other .I'm sure he was as sweet as that director or even more or else na hee wouldn't fall that deeply for him given her personality.

=> we should keep in mind that things started to mess up because of the miscarriage and that is when gyu jin started to pick on her attitude as a way to get back to her because he blamed her in some way.(of course he is so wrong in this, he is more at fault and i'm waiting for him to acknowledge this and be brave enough to apologize) .

=>So saying that gyu jin doesn't value her courageous self and keep downgrading her is not completely right. this is what we saw when their relationship is already a mess and as i said it is a sort of reaction to their ordeal. the same happened to her as she started to pick fight ith him about anything. they weren't honest to each other and suprressed their feelings and this lead to them being irritated with each other and complaining about each other personnalities. Na hee herself said this to her mother when she told her about the misacarriage "we started to pick each other about everthing after that"

=> so my conclusion is that it is really has a deeper insight to it than him simply not cherishing or approving of her attitude throughout ALL THE MARRIAGE as many are saying. => I'm sure they used to be supportive of her and he respected her as much as the director . or else they wouldn't have last that long, after all they shared medical studies and were colleagues fora long time. If he were picky and that disrespectful to her from the beginning, she would have quit him long time ago in my opinion. she said to her mom she started to feel unhappy and lonely after the miscarriage so this fact reinforces my statement.

=>so gyu jiin has a charming side to him, he has a sociable personality and knows how cool down the atmosphre by his calmness and patience, he also used to be sweet and romantic to her like she was to him. He isn't showing interest in anyone, defended her when they badmouthed her after the divorce, thinks that her happiness may reside with the director despite it hurts him, cares but always fails to show it (like saving her , the director isn't the only one who threw himself). I'm waiting for his character to grow and be brave enough to apologise about the miscarriage, that would be a turning point for them. he is also starting to be honest about his feelings which is a crucial step for him start to make changes and touch her heart again.

=> so personally ,the director's attitude doesn't amaze me, anyone who wants to win someone over would see all their traits as flawless and will keep praising his crush. not saying he is necessarily like that and I acknowledge that he my be the right one for her. but i think it is more fair to judge him after seeing him in a long term relatonship with her just like gyu jin. and i don't like his flirty attitude, he said he will wait but he is somehow being pushy by dropping praises and showing his feelings every second. i don't think he is giving her the space and time she needs to be honest.

=> I started this one because the story of two people going through a hurdle in their relationship and finding their way to each other again appeals to me. I like those kind of plots (go back couple, emergnecy couple) . and I relate to the story on many levels that is why I think a lot about every detail. I am also learning from it. it is like the experience of two real people. so I'm happy this is where the story will be directed. becasue there are a lot of dramas and stories who start with the girl being in bad relationshio and finding the perfect man after so i'm more drawn into stories of two persons in love going through a breakdown that makes them self grow, realise the unhealthy attitude that led them to fail, make self changes, learn to admit the wrong and to forgive, learn to commit and compromise and end up building a stronger relationship together.(especially if the issues have solutions and the love is still there (just like them )

However with this one its hard for me to wait for new episodes, thats how good is this drama. I love all of the characters and the divorcee brother sister duo might just be my favorite. The dad reminds me so much of mom in Father is strane and LMJs role is so similar to her role in Cunning Single Lady (my favorite Kdrama). All of the relationships are just amazing, Gyu Jin's mom and Da Hee, Da Hee and Jae Seok, Joon Seon and his stunt actors, ladies from kimbap place and ladies from the marker, Hyo Shin and stunt actors.... The aunt and the butcher are my favorite couple so far, but it looks like its one sided for now ? I also really want to see what's in store for Ga Hee, sunce there are two possible love interests loving in the house rn, although i doubt Jung Bong will be it, its obvious hes only there for the humor part of the series. Also who names these characters, my man's name is Park Hyo Shin lmao. Also Na Hee and Gyu Jin must get back together asap, I cant really see was there a bih reason for their divorcee, i do understand that they had issues and the whole baby thing was complicated, but they obviously love eachother and I believe they can work it out.

Although I am watching many drama simultaneously (world of the married, eccentric chef moon, hotel del luna, the king etc), weirdly this drama is the one I anticipate the most. I don't know, maybe because the characters and situations are relatable and realistic? There are many things we can learn too. For example, family help each other. There are problems and misunderstandings and things are not perfect but we stay there for each other. Also how everyone is imperfect. Real life is like that. Gyu Jin's mom is like my mom. Over dramatic with annoying personality needing attention all the time! Haha..But I love my mom..and miss her being annoying. Although now she is gone..So yeaps let's cherish our parents more.

I can feel both hidden emotions about losing child , divorce and more . I hope they can still be together later . There's another 42 episodes to go . Btw i really hate Gyu Jin's mom character . This kind of mother in law that ruin their own children's marriage . Stressed ! But still , worth to watch . The drama deserve high rating .

While I have loved the performances of the lead and supporting actors and actresses in previous dramas, there just does not seem to be much depth to the characters in this one. Maybe it is the directing or the writing but the story leaves a hollow feeling. This is just my opinion and for those of you who are enjoying this drama, my best wishes to you.

Oh Yerin Apr 18 2020 5:32 pm I like it so far, there are deeper and lighter moments, sad and funnier scenes. The only thing is I'm not sure I will watch until the end. There are 100 episodes total and the show will conclude in September. My experience is the longer the, the more opportunities they have to ruin a promising start. But I will keep watching to see how the story develops. So far, my favorite characters are the father, the daughter and her husband (the 2 doctors) and the brother of that doctor.

As someone who watches the dramas in this timeslot since way back when, it's funny that some can't handle 100 episodes.

Originally, this slot on Saturday and Sunday are for 50 episodes that lasts for one (1) hour. Then a few years back, still the same but they split an episode into 2 which made them into having 100 episodes. But sometimes they extend to a few more episodes which frustrates me sometimes

Anyways, here's to this drama! Hopefully it'll be a good one!

That scene when he was playing the guitar (?) and watching his cute little sister eat the small grains or crumbs left and then the separation scene after hit me really hard. I cried hard actually because of their pitiful state and because of his little sister.

Then, that got me hooked to this drama already... Hope this doesn't disappoint.

But I think I will enjoy the journey. And Daddy-O will find his sister - that's one journey I'm looking forward to. With the 'likely' sister moving into the neighbourhood I think the ride will be fun to watch.. do I detect a rehashing of 'When The Camelia Blooms'? with Dong Baek's mum being the heroine? Will Gong Hyo Jin make an appearance? lol, if she does, the ratings will go through the roof...:)

LSY acting really fit as he his character is mama boy, later when he realised he can’t live her he will start defending her and choose her over his mother. LMJ also will change her self since she also has her fault about there divorce, her temper and character make there marriage crack.

Can’t wait for them to fall in love once again, as for my last one and her guy hope they don’t find it hard since in Korean they don’t like double relationship.

Her travel agent sister deserve better than that selfish mean guy. Their own mom is a major problem n head ache ..for the girls. The eldest two that got divorced earlier ...hoping they choose better pair. Not keen on watching this 2 never will b my fav. Hoping for a better eye candy actress n actors in this drama. Literally all the characters are shouting with all their lungs, having unexplicable fits of bad temper, throwing violently the first object they can get hold of, eating savagely with their mouths wide open, spitting chunks of food and saliva.
