Jung Da-Eun (Park Bo-Young) works as a nurse. She is transferred to neuropsychiatry from the internal medicine department. This is her first time working in neuropsychiatry, so everything is difficult and awkward for her. Nevertheless, Jung Da-Eun tries her best to deal with the patients and she grows as a nurse with the help of Chief Nurse Song Hyo-Jin (Lee Jung-Eun). Dong Go-Yun (Yeon Woo-Jin) works as a doctor and specializes in proctology. Watching Nurse Jung Da-Eun and her pure ways, Dong Go-Yun realizes that he smiles when seeing her and is even healed by her.

Meanwhile Jung Da-Eun is friends with Song Yu-Chan (Jang Dong-Yoon). He looks like a very bright person, but he holds pain inside that nobody knows about.

Kim Oct 14 2025 2:31 pm This is a great drama. Park bo young's acting is really good. The drama explored the life of a nurse, mental illness and how people view it. Although probably only the surface. There are parts that get frustrating..that's why i think it only explored the surface. It's a pretty serious show with a dab of comedy and romance. Knowing that it only has a dab of romance... Maybe eliminating that would have been better. It's already obvious who the first male lead is from the poster. but watching this drama, the FL and 2nd male lead had more chemistry. The 2nd ML has been with FL all throughout, but at the end, FL's mother acknowledges 1st ML's efforts more (sounds like someone with a 2nd male lead syndrome. Yes! I Have It! and im a recovering one ?). Also, the doctor who can't take no for an answer is annoying.

Wu89 Sep 24 2025 12:08 am The way mental illness is portrayed in this show is so so outdated. Depression and anxiety are super common! Everyday people live and work while treating it every day. And it sounds silly when the doctors talk about mental illness as something you just cure. Truly sounds like somethings out of the first 1800s. You would think understanding mental health would be improving in a country with some of the highest suicide rates in the world but I guess not.

Ddeonu Jul 31 2024 9:47 pm I just finished watching this drama. Actually, this drama tells a lot about mental health and depression. Honestly, I got carried away. Moreover, my situation is also the same as the one in Drama, I cried. Suddenly I also felt afraid of losing my mother, because if my mother wasn't there. I thought what would happen to me next? Because the only person who understands me is my mother. But My mother gently said not to think like that. Don't be afraid. Pray a lot for him to live a long life. Apart from that, this drama is really dark. The feeling is very pronounced. But this drama is good. I never miss a second. Moreover, Park Bo Young and Lee Jung Eun's acting is very cool.

I blazed (multiple 10 seconds ahead) through much of the last 6 episodes, watching maybe 20% of each, if that. I guess I was hoping that the series would redeem itself in the last episode or two, but, alas, it didn't happen. Too bad, because the basic characters and their interaction could have resulted in a much better series.

Someone May 25 2024 5:54 am I still in episode 9. I start watching this drama because of the edit about the struggle with studying. I really like the phrase when they said that out effort only be recognised if we pass the exam. If we not done enough, people will said that we are not done enough. However i started to loose interest as the fl get into the physicatric hospital as she has depression. I kinda annoyed by the fact that she did not take any medicine and hate everyone because they treated her like a patient although she is a nurse. Like seriously.. okay maybe that is a part of the storyline but she keep denying the fact that she has depression. I maybe hard for her to accept but people around her also struggle to cherish her. Plus she always has her eyes on the doctor..like seriously her friends always with her through the 1 month. Yeah i know she kept the doctor away for 1 month but her friends are the one who detect her problem and ask the doctor about it. I don’t know if i should continue or not but i try.

Mick Psyphon Apr 02 2024 1:48 am I just finished episode 8; and I feel like I've been lied to by the producers of this drama. "Daily Dose of Sunshine," my eye! The last three episodes have been a decent into madness and darkness.

Everything presented to entice people to watch this series is a complete misrepresentation of the story. The main poster photo displays everyone happy. Pure horse manure!

I can't say anything bad about the acting. Everyone gives a top notch performance. In fact, both the production and direction are fine too... If you're into slitting your wrists for attention, that is.

I invested my time watching this series, because it appeared to be an upbeat story; and I recognized the actors. Park Bo-Young is one of my favourite actors. Had I known that it was going to be this dark, I wouldn't have wasted my time. If I'm in the mood for a dark drama, I'll look for one. I don't appreciate having one shoved down my throat, disguised as the exact opposite of what I'm getting.

I recommended this drama on the basis of the first three episodes. I now have to go back and earn them about what's coming, because I know that they hate these drama dramas.

I'm going to take note of the writers, Director and Producer; and avoid anything else that they're a part of in the future. As for the actors... I'm certain we'll see them in different roles in different types of stories. I hope that Park Bo-Young can rebound from this. I really hate seeing her portray such a character.

For anyone who has a problem with my review, I have only this to say: I lived with someone for 13 years, who defended deeper into the madness of depression; and it's not a hell that I want to relive. That's why I feel betrayed by how this series was presented from the start. It's time that the dramas have a proper synopsis posted on these sites. A complete synopsis, which truthfully represents what the story is all about. Let us decide on the truth, not lies!

It would have been better if she had ended up with Yuchan, I feel they would have been better together

Winwin Jan 27 2024 9:54 am The main real story just until episode 11 and I dont understand why episode 12 is needed. All problem and main theme of this drama done and solved in episode 11. Yup maybe episode 12 show how strugle for some side character at workplace but it is not really important even fhe romance so dry and not important too. But still this drama recomended to watch and theme of this drama is taboo to say in our east/asian culture.

Some of you complaint about Dr Dong reaction on episode 8, what he do is as a doctor profesional not as a boyfriend. You hope he will hug the gilr and aaid allwill be okey no prob. This is mental health issue drama and realistis if as a profesional said if you sick go to doctor not hug and cry together.

Anyways almost all scene and stories are real for me and good job for PBY and display somwone who has depresion and mental illness so perfect.

Mental health issues is serious and heavy and for others difficult to Understand and so injecting a little bit of love story in the drama have made it bearable to watch til the end in my opinion. However the story may not be everyone's cup of tea. Still i highly recommend the drama to those who want to learn and understand a bit of psychological matters.

Eve Dec 30 2023 12:31 am Does anyone also have the same option as me about the film’s color? Some scenes are too yellowish and some are too blueish/cold tone. There is one scene that the color of nurse’s uniform changes from orange to pink in 1 second. This really annoys me and I feel that the editing team is so unprofessional. Also, there is not necessary to use CGI in every episode to describe the patients’ depression/feelings. That is just too cringe. This movie is overall good but not as good as hospital playlist.

Erika Dec 22 2023 2:44 pm The guest stars carried this. I'm not sure if it's the multiple writing credits but this show was literally all over the place.

After the first 2 eps, I assumed I was getting a cute rom-com with a side of 2nd male lead butterflies to boot.

But the show actually got Better and deeper when it focused of the guest stars of each episode and how their tales affected the lives of the main characters. I cried and even had to turn the TV off suddenly because I was getting therapy my damn self and I wasn't prepared for that. Those parts were written so well.

So I was actually disappointed every time the romance between Daeun and Goyun was brought back up. Yes it was cute that his OCD was seemingly tamed by his crush but let's be for real. At least One of these many writers must have wanted Nurse Jang to be with her best friend. If all they were going to do "cure" her depression in the end was have her say that someone shows up for her before her depression does, no reason that couldn't be YuChan.

However, I think it was a mistake to put her in a relationship at all in this. One relationship in the show was enough and they were about as dry as bag of rice.

Multiple writers is so common on western shows but idk how that works on k dramas. Here I thought I was watching 2 different shows at times and in the end, I felt neither genre of the show was completed.

As much as I Hate It, I kinda needed a "2 years later" scene...

I get it if they want to add romance to spice up thing, but one story/couple is enough. No need for second couple or even love triangle. And honestly the second couple took to much screen with a lot of drama too, that sometimes I thought this is a makjang story lol. And I'm sorry, but I hate love triangle in this kind of genre. I really like the story of the patients and show their struggle with the illness and I do wish they dig deeper or show more angles, but they show more love stories instead :<

So I totally understand if some people find this drama boring, because I do feel that way sometimes that I had to just skipped some scenes :(

They are all so good at acting I am truly amazed! They all acted out their roles SO professionally. I am really smitten by yeon woo jin (cos of his acting skill). Jang Dong-Yoon is awesome, too! I was once depressed and I find the connection there.. to admit one is depressed needs lots of courage.. to get out of it needs a lot more than that.. love this drama.. hope it'll bring some kind of awareness to us all.. 10/10 ..

Jen Dec 02 2023 2:08 pm I was very moved by this emotional, heart-warming depiction of the daily lives of nurses in a psychiatric unit of a major university hospital. The main character is so true to the stereotype of the “caring nurse”, that I found myself crying repeatedly, especially when she succumbed to a depressive episode after one of her patients committed suicide. Many of the scenarios depicted in the series are very true to life, except perhaps, the notion of a girl with an IQ of 70 believing she can become a pilot. We can all dream, but in the end, even those with severe affective or personality disorders are forced to accept reality.

Criticisms about the lack of a proper training session when the lead character joins the nursing team seem quite petty given that the scriptwriter deserves some degree of licence. Similar criticisms have been levelled at the resuscitation scene in episode 2 of “Doctors”, but this still doesn’t detract significantly from an otherwise glorious series. In any event, being “thrown to the wolves” is not uncommon in the medical workplace, where there is frequently a shortage of trained staff. The mantra “see one, do one, teach one” is often in evidence.

Romantic involvements between doctors and nurses are also a fact of life in hospital environments. In my view, these are depicted realistically and sensitively in this series.

All in all, I highly recommend this series and believe it depicts the day-to-day running of a modern psychiatric unit in a very realistic and sensitive way.

I guess they wanted to make a feel good drama dealing with different mental illness but the result is terrible. It’s full of incorrect cliché. Acting is not bad but because of implausible scenario, it doesn’t make is credible . The main lead is kinda cute, naive (in a bad way, near stupid), she was annoying really. And why does a drama need to have a romance. It was superfluous. I’m in episode 6 and it’s hard to finish. Gladly there is only 12.

Wendy Nov 27 2023 9:50 pm I related to a lot of characters in this show especially Kim Seo Wan and Deul-re, I think the actors did a great job with their characters Kim Seo Wan really pulled at my heart strings because I worry that I might be like him some day. I worry that one day I’ll realize that even if I spend so much time trying to achieve my goal and manage to get there, will it be worth all the pain to get there? And if not, what do I do at that point? How do I move on from there? There were also some parts that just confused me, in particular the romance that felt really out of place. I don’t understand the romance between Da-Eun and Go Yun, he was creepy at best in the beginning. If anything her and Yu-Chan made more sense. Then there was Yeo Hwan and Deul-re; I hated how he couldn’t accept her rejection. I’m sure it was to build up to their relationship later on and help Deul-re break down the walls she had up, but I feel like there was a better way to do it.

I can relate so well with what Jung Da Eun felt when she found out about the patient that she really cares for passed away. And how society view mental illness today is such a taboo especially in Asian countries that you felt like is shame and you are not worthy to come back to work. And through her recovery, I found hope especially when the head nurse spoke to her when she didn’t turn up for work. That really spoke to me and makes me cry so much that I haven’t been able to show my emotion for the last couple of years. I really wanna say that the actors and actresses acted so well that they give awareness to how mental illness patient feels.

For instance, why is a nurse totally untrained in psychiatric illnesses allowed to go into mentally ill patients' rooms all alone, without an experienced doctor or nurse in attendance with her? Not professional at all. Why aren't any guards called immediately when the nurse is attacked by the patient? I'll keep watching for the actors I am fond of and hoping the series becomes more realistic but so far no drama on this theme has been better than It's Okay, That's Love, with Gong Hyo Jin and Jo In Sung. That's the masterpiece.

On Ep 5 and I'm very disappointed with how Deul-Re and Dr. Hwang relationship develops. Even from the start, I don't like how Dr. Hwang can't take Deul-Re's no as an answer; this trope is very much alive in K-Drama and they still do this in 2023? Smh. And of course Deul-Re "gave up" and show her true feelings when Dr. Hwang cornered her into an awkward position.

This baffles me so much because if there's one thing it teaches the viewers is that it normalizes this kind of behavior. Women will "play it safe" and "pretend to be all cool, while actually wanting it".

Idk if I'll be able to finish it now that there's also Go-Yun x Da-Eun x Yu-Chan.

Sprean Nov 18 2023 10:04 pm Such a healing drama. This is different from other psychiatric with romance 16 ep dramas I've watch. Da-eun's character helped me a lot. She survived at the end. This can be boring and hard to swallow to you but this is realistic. It happens to everyone. This is surely a daily dose of sunshine for me.

Amir Nov 14 2023 10:35 pm Please dont gel influenced by negative comments here. The drama is great for me. If you are a fan of different story/cases in different episodes( eg: Move to heaven, Tomorrow, Taxi Driver) you will like this drama.

Eventho they touch each mental health issues just on the surface, it still a good depiction of the issue. Got to learn on how does some mental health issue is.

A bit warning tho, it might be triggering to someone as they show some character who are going thru their issue.

Mental health is out there and ideally it’s should be taken seriously and I didn’t know in South Korea it taboo. Love the head nurse….I ‘ve seen her acting in tons of dramas…she is superb. Love the two Doctor BF’s and that storyline. Overall. More than 2 thumbs up!

Zeila Nov 14 2023 1:01 pm Loved it. I think some of the negative reviews here missed the point. Psychiatry has been a Huge taboo in South Korea. The purpose of this drama was to enlighten the Korean audience that help is out there and it should not be discouraged. One person said something about the reliance on meds. These people do not just leave with a pill. They continue psychiatry as out-patients. While the eps with the nurse in distress were a bit tiresome, they served a purpose here. It shows that anyone can fall into depression at any time (been there myself, but, thank God, not so severe) and how it affects the people around you. On a lighter note, Dr. Hwang is the most perfect boyfriend I've ever seen. So supportive and loving. I think those who were negative about him did not watch the whole series before commenting. BTW...agree with "Larose" totally.

mye. Nov 13 2023 6:25 pm Can't lie, there were some questionable scenes, but overall, it's probably one of my favourite kdrama's thats come out this year. Really emotional, very much bawled at certain scenes haha! Binged the entire thing too.

I like the way the drama portrait mental health issues and give the brief explaining and how they show the conditions of the patients. And I'm shooo happy that Da Eun end up with Dr Dong GoYun because he deserves all the love after all of his efforts to win her heart!!~~~?????? I don't understand why people hate him and even saying that his characters is unnecessary:(( I cheer him and ship him with Daeun from their very first encounter. I do like YuChan & DaEun and they chemistry is good but I think Dr Dong just hit harder because they share the same experience as they work in the same field so they know each other's feeling. Overall, this is a very good drama this year. Everyone must watch this drama!!~~

They just used sad stories to get attention of the viewers and then after successfuly making viewers crying they throw them off away from the screen without helping them. Everyone's mood was very gloomy and everybody had a dark aura. I wish there had some balance between doctors and patients . It would be nice if doctors tried to cure patients instead of competing with them and looking sicker than them. Overall disappointing .

JM Nov 12 2023 11:57 am Grey's Anatomy, K-drama style, and focus on psych ward. But so easy to use drugs to take care of mental health issue. It's not that simple. Not on board with it's reliance on meds, esp when many of them have side effects. Panic disorder can treated most effectively through psychotherapy. Nor can someone just be cured of OCD by liking a person.

From ep 3 onwards i only skipped to the part where the main leads were together if not it can actually be a pretty boring drama. Or maybe more depressing? watching too many people with issues every issues can kinda affect you. If you're like me and prefer a more happy and lighthearted kind of drama, then probably just avoid this drama.

It was a bit slow and repetitive in the beginning (I almost dropped it) and then got very good and emotional in the middle and kinda slow at the end again. I almost think this would’ve been better as a movie. Not too much romance/ chemistry between the main couple but the side couple was so endearing to watch.

Her acting was top-notch as well.. tbh I'm not what to feel abt her friend having feeling for her, it's not even a rom-com dunno why did they add that up!! Well I was looking from more moment with the Dr. But overall it's really a nice one

I also wasn't a fan of who the fl ended up with. I was so disappointed because there really wasn't any chemistry between them at all.

Thats a clear violation of patient and person’s privacy. You cannot go around telling and yelling to everyone that one person suffered from mental illness.

Amy Nov 05 2023 7:31 pm That cafe scene in the first episode annoyed me. One thing I've disliked about kdrama trying to bring light to mental health issues is they don't do it very well. It's often very superficial / highly exaggerated. That doctor (Dr Hwang?) saw a guy being unusual outside the cafe and immediately deduced he has bipolar? From that 5 seconds he acted weirdly? Then Da Eun jokingly commented to Yu Chan that Dr Hwang called him "bipolar". Is bipolar a joke? Seems minute but says a lot. Like nice try trying to make a series about mental health but try harder. We're living in 2023. Gonna keep watching and see how it goes.

This also shows how possible stress, family, environment can really ruin the health of a person. Kudos to all the healthcare professionals for dedicating their lives into this kind of cases. Very good casting and acting!

The story flows is pretty good but the subtle humor and the the background sound is what I wasn't able to grasp at first (other drama i watch had quite lot of rich backsound compared to this unique bgm in the drama hahaha). But Love Love Love The Casts!!! They Are Just So Superbs!!?

From having incredibly strict rules to your first time working in psych to the signs & symptoms of various mental illnesses to patients thinking they’d be able to discharge right away to ppl questioning why you want to work in psych to the mental strain on you to feeling inadequate as a baby nurse and so much more. They obviously got an expert for this series and it shows.
