In the 19th century and on the night of her wedding day, Park Yeon-Woo’s (Lee Se-Young) husband tells her he has suffered from a heart disease for a long time and apologizes. He spits out blood and dies. She is devastated by her current situation. Making matters worse, Park Yeon-Woo gets kidnapped by a man and is thrown into a well. The next moment, she opens her eyes and sees her husband in front of her. She is now in present day Seoul, South Korea. The man who saves her from the swimming pool is Kang Tae-Ha (Bae In-Hyuk). He is the successor of SH Seoul Corporation. He doesn't mind opening himself up to others due to his heart disease and trauma that he suffered from in his childhood. He is a logical person and not interested in having a romantic relationship, but his ill grandfather tells him that he wishes to see his wedding before he dies. Kang Tae-Ha asks Park Yeon-Woo, who he saved, to enter into a contract marriage.

dewa Aug 24 2025 8:28 am It's a nice story, and I love it. But I just don't like the ending. The concept is like rooftop prince but narrated on the Joseon woman perspective. I'm sure the ending is told like that because of culture in which Joseon woman only love/serve one man in their life or something like that (I'm not sure because I'm not Korean).

if you watch rooftop prince, I'm sure you will compare it. In rooftop prince, the one going to future is the prince and 4 of his aides. Don't get me wrong, it has similar concept but the storyline is quite different. I love both this and rooftop prince. But the ending could be better because it leaves so many question. But overall I love the drama.

Too many clichés, you have probably seen another drama with a similar script. This doesn't mean you won't like it though. The beginning was really exciting and promising but the end??? What's going on guys lol. I wish it was planned better, it would absolutely enter my top 20 kdrama list lol

They are the same just from a different timeline, it was annoying seeing her reject past Tae Ha and only being his friend, I thought they would have her have a loving life with him until he died then be reborn to live with the current Tae Ha. They didn't even show her reuniting with Sa Wal and everyone else and why wasn't Sa Wol and Seong Pyo at their real wedding at the end? The ending didn't do the show the justice it deserved.

As a Canadian, I’m always excited to see some defence to our culture in foreign drama so appreciated the humour of sweeping the robot vacuum like a curling rock and the visit to the curling rink. A few loopholes but I could overlook them because of other things I really liked.

Also, Lee Se-Young added to my list of atf's of beautiful and excellent korean actresses. I was happy with the ending and although there are flaws in the time-travel story-line, most important to me was the beautiful story of YeonWoo and TaeHa.

I kind of wish the Joseon era section had lasted longer just because the cinematography was so gorgeous. When everyone else in America was concentrating on the Superbowl I chose to concentrate on this sweet romance and I'm glad I did. I'm a love story person, not a sports' person. :)

It was just yesterday that I started episode 1 and right now, on the second day, I am doing a marathon of watching this. I so love the plot and the actors. I love Bae In Hyuk here and i could feel the strong chemistry he had with Lee Se Young. 10 stars for this! perfect blend of an all-in-one romance drama

This is really one of the best KDrama Series! Full of good vibes! Love the story phasing! Though, the Tae Ha from Joseon died wthout getting the love of Yeon Woo, it consoles us to think that Tae Ha reincarnates in the modern times, with whom, Yeon Woo gave her heart! We're going to miss this series along with Mr. Hong, Sawol and Tae-Min!

adorkablejoon Jan 10 2024 2:36 am watched this without any expectation because I see the clips all over my tiktok... but Fell In Love with this drama omg!!! the chemistry, the cinematography, the OST, the plot??? so so goood! well-casted, bae in hyuk is an amazing actor. he did so well expressing each of his characters. sadly joseon taeha has to go like that :( like they're both the same person aren't they? but sometimes fantasy drama have plot holes like this and it's okay. also we don't have to say much about seyoung bc who doesn't know how good is the acting of this saeguk actress?? she's the best and i could really feel her pain when she cries.

can we also talk about the sisterhood between yeonwoo & sawol? they're so cute!! love how everyone is on yeonwoo's side even kang taemin as well.

this drama is so good. very recommended to watch :) 9/10 !!

Calm Jan 08 2024 11:44 am I feel bad for joseon's taeha that i actually cried throughout the scene as i know he'll end up dead somehow. Yeah true, yeon woo should at least tell him sth so that he knows that the person she's in love with is him, just the same person but with different era. By doing that, maybe taeha could at least has sth good to remember before he died. Apart from that, i think the ending is quite good considering the present taeha is also the same taeha back then meaning that his wish came true (to be reborn as the taeha that yeon woo loved). All in all, i could say that this series has the most heartbreaking happy ending.

There's even a scene where the FL is running when she could have ride a car, then the scene with the grandfather being hit on the head and not call the emergency first. And the part of the story where she couldn't love the Tae-Ha of her time coz she's in love to Tae-Ha of the 21st century, the writer should have started the comeback to Joseon in the well wherein she survived or rescued to be more realistic. Well, it's a fantasy drama, the writer can do whatever he/she imagined. Finished the drama, and it's quite okay if you're not into details.

The last episodes are heavy and sad, it’s a pity Te Ha from Joseon, but at that time there wouldn’t have been their mutual love and happiness, since Ye Nu had already fallen in love with Te Ha from Seoul. She knew perfectly well that he was the reincarnation of her first husband, but for her one was the love of her life, and the second was a good friend and nothing more. Although the desire of the first husband fulfilled - he met her and she fell in love with him. And she, returning to the past, broke the repeating fate - Te Ha died of his own death, and he was not killed because of his marriage to her, so in the future everything will be fine with him when they together. As Cheon Myung said, if you don’t correct the past, you can’t change the present. Perhaps she also helped Ye Nu return to Seoul for the second time, and the power of Ye Nu’s love and the longing of her first husband and his desire to be with her in the next life.

This happens a lot on Kdramas recently where the first half is really good then the second half is crap.

The time traveling is ful of plot holes. The villains got off easy with no proper redemption arcs. They did Joseon Taeha, really really dirty..Poor guy.

Kdrama is life Dec 24 2023 1:59 am This drama is my current obsession followed by My Man is Cupid, and both are seriously underrated. Well, objectively the writing is a bit lacking in some aspect, they could've done better, but its still a good watch. Maybe i am just in the mood for silly little romance. But even in this drama and My Man is Cupid, there's some killing lines that are definitely better than some big dramas this year, i must say eventho its just a few lines i swear its at the level of some excellent writter's dramas. What i love the most is the chemistry between the main leads. I mean, why do i ship them more than any hot drama couple this year? Song Kang and Kim Yoojung might be the king and queen in terms of visual, Ahn Eun Jin and Nam Goong Min is the queen and king of chemistry, but Lee Seyoung and Bae In hyuk's visual chemistry is like nothing i've seen before. I dont wanna sound like those people who claim to have seen all kdramas, but i honestly have seen unhealthy amount of kdramas, so trust me, i know visual chemistry when i see one. From any kdrama this year, the only couple that can top their visual chemistry is from Bora Deborah, Yoo Inna and the male lead actor, his name is in the tip of my tongue, (istg i love him i am just very forgetful). Anyway, It's a shame that there's only 2 episodes left, i think they could've developed the story a bit better if they have enough episodes.

Billa Dec 16 2023 8:27 pm I somehow think that fantasy-mistery drama like this needs to be perfect in every way: scenario, directing, cinematography, etc. If not then it will feel so many things missing out, just like what I feel in this drama. I know its not easy, there's a very high expectation to it especially because it is Lee Se Young staring the show (she shines like she always be). Im glad that it still gets high attention from the tv viewers and I hope from the international fans too. Im glad that Bae In Hyuk got a chance to act with his Sunbae. They really made a sweet couple. Hope to see him rise as dependable and versatile actor in the future. Sa Wol also needs better attention, she's doing great in this drama. Hope that they will wrap up in happy ending and finish strong.

poolah Dec 12 2023 9:23 pm I always felt that the grandfather is the reddest flag in this drama, the way he disregards and treats Ms. Min as an object (probably one of the many reasons why she’s like that). And episode 6 confirmed my hunch.

Seun Dec 11 2023 6:21 am There are many villians out to get kang tae ha, d step mom isn't even hiding her hatred, the ms yoo (girl from killing vote) in d office, it's obvious she's a stalker, obsessed with kang tae ha, following him around and taking pictures, pretending to be nice to get his attention and the grandfather is d most suspicious but pretending to be nice, it seems he's something to do with park Yeon woo before, I don't think he genuinely love taeha, just using him, I feel bad for him, same situation as do hee from my demon

Precious Dec 10 2023 8:27 am Kang Tae Ha's grandfather is greedy and there is something fishy about him...I don't think his affection for Tae Ha is even genuine like what the heck is is problem? And the step mother too she seems like she killed Tae Ha's mum and was she the side chicken or something before the father married her? She's soo evil and at the same time irritating, overall the story is superb and magnificent all actor's are doing the best to execute this perfectly written drama.... oh and that girl from the killing vote I despise people like that who fight behind your back she's definitely not my favourite character as for the brother he is cute as well as a bit of villainous

kcchk Dec 08 2023 2:14 pm I just finished watching Episode 5. This is really such a beautiful drama. Amazing plot and amazing main leads! I can't believe it will only have 12 episodes. :( I don't want it to end so soon. :'( Why Only 12 Episodes? :'( It's so hard to find a good kdrama these days.

This is so beautiful! I can't get enough. The male and female lead along with the supporting characters are all amazing! I love Sa-Wol, Tae-Min, Sung-Pyo! Even Hye-Sook, the chairman, and now Mi-Dam. Such an amazing cast!

I love Yeon-Woo and Tae-Ha so so much! :* Lee Se-Young and Bae In-Hyuk should win best couple award for this. I can't wait for their kissing scene! And wedding night? Hehe

nori Dec 07 2023 7:18 pm great cast, great acting especially se-young literary casting her the best thing they ever made she's soooo good and the drama is so so funny and i like the characters & their developments & it also has some mystery here & there i check HiTv every Friday & Saturday for new episodes so far it's so good if the ending is satisfying I'd recommend this

I thought she was only desired on designing underwears, socks, etc but not the undecent one. Wish it would be explained in the next episodes

Dye Nov 29 2023 1:24 am I'm very satisfied with the live action, the comedy was more hilarious than the manhwa, and some parts were different. From my pov, the characters' looks weren't exactly like in the manhwa, but their soul, especially for the main lead match the character so well

The fusion of the two worlds is very well executed and the acting is excellent with great chemistry. Once again, Lee Se Young proves his versatility and plays to perfection.

This is a very good debut, I recommend it without hesitation! ?
