Song Ki-Baek (Ko Kyoung-Pyo) is single and 33 years old. He works as an announcer at a broadcasting station. People consider him an ideal announcer. He is polite and well mannered. One day, Song Ki-Baek suffers from an incident which causes him to speak without thinking first. He now faces the biggest crisis of his life.

Meanwhile, On Woo-Joo (Kang Han-Na) is an enthusiastic TV variety show writer. She becomes interested with Song Ki-Baek’s harsh language and she gets him to appear on her variety show.

Princess Apr 29 2025 6:25 pm Hmmmm, this has to be one of the worst kdramas I have ever watched (and I have watched many and I'm usually really liberal with my ratings). It started well and on a good note but later began to seem like they were just doing anything to ensure there was enough episodes to make a series,some scenes and conversations didn't make a lot of sense and while I was still trying to still be fine with that they made the FL(head writer of a reality show) to enter as a contestant and that was the final straw likee howw does that make any sense. It was really just a buttload of rubbish.

Kdrama Llama Feb 24 2025 2:46 am I found Frankly Speaking an enjoyable and entertaining watch. It made me laugh multiple times every episode largely thanks to the ML but the FL had her moments too and I liked her relationship with her mum… The MLs family is another highlight for me.

This isn’t a sugary romcom but it does stand out for the humour, which personally i’m here for… If you do have a sense of humour and don’t tend to reach for shows with the same twee tropes, give it a go.

PD Feb 18 2025 1:03 pm Oh My Freaking God!!!! It Is Awful To The End!!!

I forced myself to finish this awful series. Although the actors are great and the cinematography is spot on, there are at least 10 stories that could have been their own decent series. Instead it feels like the writers threw every worn-out cliche into a blender and wrote 12 separate episodes of nonsense. The premise of the series was lost and forgotten before episode 3.

The irony of the show being about writers and then being this awful is impossible to ignore.

I want a do over.

All the same actors and crew but five or six separate different series that make some sort of sense.

PD Feb 13 2025 9:38 pm Worst story/writing I’ve ever experienced in a Korean drama. It is sad because the actors are good and beautiful. But the story is stupid and inconsistent. The trouble telling the truth comes and goes regardless of whether or not she touches him. And there are too many coincidences and side plots going on. And that is sad because all the characters are good.

Ish Nov 29 2024 5:03 pm A simple human story, a luminous, fresh comedy served up by fabulous actors and actresses. The final scene is absolutely profound and wonderful. It revealed, on the episodes in the series, a happy and unexpected metaphor :-)

pingkeu Jun 08 2024 7:29 pm It started off with typical romcom plot lines - catching feelings, jealous exes, etc. Then, the 2nd half came! Poignant. Unpredictable. The relationships (romantic, familial, cordial) were very human - fallible, mature and realistic. The title itself was cleverly played out for all characters, even for Gu-won - everyone told their truth! All in all, the cast & crew put on a really insightful show.

and for the one who stopped at ep 5, you definitely dropped too soon lol, the flashbacks aren't even for the romance but for ki-baek and jeong-heon's story. i also hate love triangles but not in this show. I Love It. it's realistic and not pushy i can't even say it's a love triangle lol. no misunderstandings whatsoever just how i like it :)

Very far cry from other shows with plots and characters that are too idealistic to be true?

Darey May 29 2024 8:14 pm I stopped watching since episode 5. episode 5 onwards was very boring. a love triangle template story that continues to reminisce about the past. episodes 1-4 were very fun and enjoyable, I had high expectations but gone when they started the dating show episodes.

also I don't understand, they have a variety show team and 'great' leaders but why can't they be more creative? they just made a parody of the single's inferno.

very disappointed as a fan of this drama. the concepts of ''frankly speaking' and announcer are only used at the beginning. I thought it was an office drama-comedy, but it turns out it's just a boring romcom wtf high school memories.

I still think he's the son of Woo-ju ( FL ) , cause she & Chae Yeon (co - worker) arent related. Woo-ju & her mom live together with the boy. Also in ep 2 Woo-ju told the boy to play with his grand ma , when jeong-heon ( 2nd lead / aka dad? ) was standing in front of them. Also in todays ep, when the son & grandma arrived, his mother was suppose to pick him up, which was woo-ju. If woo-ju isnt his mom, they wouldve ask why she came and not his so called mother. Plus she called him "my sweetheart". I think it was just an act which they all planned/agreed on, to pretend another woman is his mother, to not cause any problems.
