Park Jun-Mo (Ji Chang-Wook) is a police officer. For a drug investigation that leads into the drug trade between South Korea, China, and Japan, Park Joon-Mo infiltrates a criminal organization. Meanwhile, Park Jun-Mo is married to Yu Eui-Jeong (Lim Se-Mi). She is also a police officer and becomes involved in the drug investigation that her husband is working on. Appearing by them is Jung Gi-Cheul (Wi Ha-Joon). He is the charismatic boss of a newly formed crime organization.

You know I didn’t know how this was going to turn out in the end but I felt like Do-hyung (won’t lie I hoped and wished nothing happened to him), did everything he could to keep PJM safe and yes I wasn’t expecting that ending. PJM and YEJ at times for me, felt like they forgot that they were married, and although it’s called undercover I expected both YEJ and PJM to at least be there for one another (they’re too busy with Gi-cheul and LHR). Ugh so frustrating. Overall thought this series will have you on the edge of your seat.

Eue Feb 13 2024 5:51 pm Wow...really just wow I'm stunned, I was scared for JCW throughout the drama and also was secretly hoping that Lim Se -Mi would later end up with WHJ. A good acting portrayed by Haeryeon and Mingoo. All characters showcased an exceptional skills. This is one hell of a drama that must be watched. It will keep you toes and there is never a dull scene. I used 4 days to watch just 12 eps of a drama coz I always paused to go and recover from the emotional tension and then later come and continue

Drei Feb 02 2024 2:36 am Man! That was one of a roller coaster drama! I ended up pressing the pause button many times because I needed to breathe and think. The 2 ML are serving looks and giving hell of acting such good good acting from JCW and WHJ!!! Bibi is a show stealer too! I feel for the 2 ML, Gi cheul being betrayed by everyone and Jun mo losing himself, I really did think that he'll end up as the Boss!! More dramas like this please!!!

Mango Nov 06 2023 9:40 am The drama is really high quality. The cinematography is spectacular and it is nicely filmed and directed. Its a high tension drama with lots of plot twist suspense. And it keeps you on your toes each scene. The acting was also phenomenal especially Wi Ha Joon's.

But it was a very hard watch for me. Some scenes were very gory and explicit but that wasnt the worst. The ML pjm's character change was what made it hard to digest. It really made me felt like the title was referring to him, the worst of evil.

There are some loopholes/qns (like thrs no way euijeong's father didnt know about this investigation (bcos his son-in-law didnt even turn up for the funeral) and how did he allow them to take part in the investigation. Ans why did hwang mingoo go to haeryun first after knowing abt pjm and why he didnt he tell gangnam union straight away) but its not too big of an issue.

I feel like if given 16 eps this drama would have been more complete (like with more time and development, the change in attitude of pjm towards euijeong wldnt be that abrupt, we might have had a closure with pjm and his father, haeryun's trust about pjm would have been more believable bcos haeryun is a smart girl, there aint no way she couldnt seen thru pjm's heart)

Spoiler: The ending was also questionable, why did pjm shoot jgj?

He was a more believable villain than Chang-Wook. But still the drama worked and I liked the casting of everyone in this. It seems no matter what role/drama Chang-Wook and Ha-Joon are in, it's a success!!

I would have felt sympathetic even towards an ugly 50-year-old playing the role of Gicheul. It has nothing to do with his looks, it has to do with his amazing acting, showing that underneath he is a human who was affected by his own wrong choices. Most victims of the abuse become abusers themselves as a coping mechanism. Life is not a bed of roses, even roses have thorns and you might get pricked by them if you are not careful. We don’t destroy roses because they have thorns. Anyways it is just my personal opinion and you are entitled to yours. No hard feelings. :)

He is being always used by others for their own use. The acting was really excellent in this drama but I am not satisfying with the story. If Ji chang wook and Wi ha joon are not acting here I would not have watched this. Actually I expected a lot from this drama but I could not satisfy with this drama. However I am not disappointed.

Plot Oct 27 2023 5:25 am Hwang mingoo was a corrupt cop and was already trying to make deals with haeryeon and drug dealers for his personal earnings. He would have definitely leaked the news to opposite side, only way was to keep him kidnapped till operation is over. He did find out junmo is a police officer but did he defend him as a colleague, as a fellow police officer? No instead he tries to sell him out for money and drugs' girl kills him on time to save junmo.

Like i said previous episode, the worst of evil is the heart. I bet Park Jun Mo can't be the same after this. I wish there was an epilog with what happen next. Did PJM become a stricter police who targets drug lord? Did he find and be united with Lee Haeryeon? But i don't see that he will be with his wife again. Yu Eijeung is the one that makes PJM change. If only her not involve with Gi Chul, the plot probably will be difference and longer.

Worst of all, by the love of his life, l don’t know how you recuperate from that. He’s a great actor that delivers on every Scene. Now, l don’t know if Ji Chang-Wook change reps but this is the perfect role for him. Enough of the romcoms. The two FL are great, specially Bibi. I know what’s coming so I’ll watch with sadness.

Masterpiece Oct 26 2023 4:01 pm @Zoe, this is your pov and I don't agree with it. Symapthizing with snake doesn't mean humans forget to remove it's venom fangs when having to deal with it and many kill it. Hiding from his boys didn't make him any better and it could expose him to further risk.

Him coming from an abusive background was a bigger reason for him to know how his drugs were going to impact other families and their victims and how many addicts kill their family members/wives just to get cash or force them.into trafficking. Replace kicheul's handsome face from handsome wi hajoon to some super ugly 50plus guy and noone will be showing any sympathy for him.

Junmo didn't betray anyone, he was just doing his job out of his love for his wife who also wasn't sincere with him. As of him sacrificing senior cop that was also the result of cop and prosecutor's poor planning that had constantly been putting junmo, wife and everyone into danger. I didn't sympathize with that cop's death as he was simply bad at his job, constantly exposing his face, not considering variables. However, I do blame junmo for going and meeting his wife while being undercover and in the same city where he is undercover. Also the senior cop was also to be blamed for involving eui jeong full on into the operation, that was a selfish decision.

Zoe Oct 26 2023 1:12 pm @masterpiece you forgot that also Gicheul was a victim of an abusive father who killed his mother in front of him. He even mentioned he doesn’t tell his men where the money comes from so they won’t feel guilty. He made wrong decisions and chose the wrong path but in the end, he was again betrayed by those whom he loved and trusted the most. Having sympathy even for a snake makes you human. In the end, even Junmo paid the price of doing his job/betraying the trust of his boss/friend. It was heartbreaking to watch, but life is not rainbows and unicorns all the time. To everyone else: Watch this drama, I truly enjoyed it. After such a long time it was a wonderful change to watch something realistic and closer to what we see every day rather than the usual rom-coms I normally enjoy watching. The acting was fantastic. Wi Ha Joon performed wonderfully opposite of Chang Wook who is a veteran actor. I would love to see more realistic dramas like this.

I don't have sympathy for haeryeon, she is also a criminal and I wouldn't mind her getting arrested, but she also has a story, she was born into such family and had no escape, that scary guy with her had been with her since her childhood, how could she live an independant life as opposed to kicheul who chose this path. Remember he kills his old boss to venture into drugs business.

Also haeryeon out of all people most early on found out jungmo's identity she could have gotten him killed and whole operation shelved but instead she lets him go based off his sincerity towards her. It was also suggested she was sick of drugs business. If kicheul had found out at same time as haeryeon do you think he would have let jungmo go? He wanted to build a clean life but all from drugs-earned money. He wasn't ever forced into this business, which is why jungmo tells him you made wrong decisions. And jungmo gave equal escape chances to both haeryeon and jung ki cheul. At first I really wanted her screwed too but it was towards the end of show when they slightly suggest she wasn't a fan of her job and wanted to leave I started to feel for her.

I feel sorry for his character and wished he had a better ending, but i suppose this ending is better than a cheesy predictable one..

Lee Hae-Ryeon. They both develop criminal activities, but let's say that Lee Hae-Ryeon has helped Park Jun-Mo many times so we can sympathize with her. That is why PJM helped her at the end of the drama.

Masterpiece Oct 25 2023 11:17 pm What a masterpiece, only thing disliked was attempt tp humanize ki cheul, he was a high criminal selling drugs and destroying countless lives and I had bo sympathy for me as he still wanted to carry on being a drugs seller till he earns enough. There shoukd be no sympathy for drug dealers.

But what a masterpiece. Artistic, brutal. It was a hard watch because suspence at times was too cruel.

@sf I am not sure about eui jeong being annoying but those 2 guys heading the operation, the cop and prosecutor were suoer annoying as those dumbasses had very poor planning that kept exposing both the husband wife.

For haeryeon, I wonder how she was going to survive alone, did she have money. Showing more on her would have been good. Why did junmo start liking her. Was eui jeong really not sincere with junmo?

Who is hesitant to call her I thought it was her husband who is her top priority. Her actions in the end speaks the opposite.

He was probably played by junmo but he was already playing the lives of people by selling drugs. Put your sympathy to the victims and their family. Gosh I feel bad for Jang Gi Cheul, I mean everyone is playing him rn lol. Jun Mo lied that he was the cousin of Tae-Ho the person Gi Cheul cared so much. and then his old crush lied that she loves him. The kiss scene in episode 8 broke my heart, both of them shed a tear but for different reasons. Adding salt to the wound, his crush's husband is his now-trusted man, the so-called Tae ho cousin, Jin Mo. BFFR bro :'D

Idk Man Everyone In This Drama Acts Great. You should check it out yourself. My feelings are torn, I want Jin Mo to succeed in his cover, but I want Gi Cheul to be happy too argh.

Ji Oct 19 2023 6:36 pm This is by far the most impressive performance by Ji Changwook. I bet it's much more harder to portray this kind of role than a regular love story MC. But god, he pulls it off so well! As for Wiwi, great as always. Any bad and crazy character with Wiwi's face is amazing. The way Gicheul looks at Euijong before he closed the door is deep! It's much different than when he saw Seungho reached for him as his back was being slashed. What I'm trying to say is those eyes can act well. Anyway, there are only 3 episodes left. Worst of Evil, hwaiting!

4Score&7 Oct 19 2023 3:47 pm As much as I enjoy Ji Chang Wook’s talent, I had to give this show up. The violence is too much for me. I get why they’ve included it within the story, but the brutality is much too extreme for me. Sigh.

Chancellor 7 Oct 16 2023 2:23 pm Wi Ha Joon is such an interesting actor. He’s so calm and it’s like he’s always holding in what he really wants to say. You can never tell what his character is thinking. This was the same when he was in Little Women. You couldn’t tell if he was a good or bad person. So you have to watch his face and eyes.

Now because of his acting, I wonder what is Gi-Cheul thinking? Does he know more than we think? What he do when he finds out about Eui-Jeong and Jun Mo. He doesn’t look like someone that will cry.

What an interesting actor.

Unfortunately if this was real life I think he would already be caught and killed by Gi-Cheul. I also think Gi-Cheul had a rough life, I just wish he was successful the right way.

Park Junmo is such complex character: we can feel all his doubts, pain, desires, failures...I can't wait for the next episode.

Even bloodhounds was a semi hit it's bad ending ruined it but people liked the show for early episodes. And you are saying 0 good shows.

Alright Sep 30 2023 7:30 pm Both wi ha joon and chang wook are good here. I had heard jcw had said he wont do action roles anymore as his old roles like k2 caused health issues but then his dramas flopped , so thats why he is back with an action role.

The cops including undercover male lead are so stupud at keeping his cover, like idiot goes to meet his wife duhhhhh! His and hus senior cops dumbness was keeping me so on edge.

Btw how did they convince taehos dad to lie?

All in all good drama, disney is finally making good dramas, but Moving gave me trauma from flashbacks and seeing flashbacks in worst of evil i was about to scream and skipped the parts. I wish disney stops excessive flashbacks thing, moving had them a lot, but even shadown detective and big beg did them a lot too.

Back to this drama, so far quite gritty and well written. It would be great if they show entire transformation of gangnam district.

How is the response to this show? Good luck wi ha joon and ji chang wook.

The director make a wise decision casting him as the mobb boss. Was hoping that the police is someone else because i find no chemistry between ji chang wook and wi ha joon. Ji chang wook may be more suitable romance + action movie i think. For a purely action movie like this, someone else might be better for the police character. I dont even mind if the police is wi ha joon. Damn, that look on his face.. That stares..

Alfa10 Sep 28 2023 2:11 am Chang Wook is now again proving to us his Worth as Korea's Best asset....an actor, a singer and a stage play performer. His color and body transformation made his role more realistic. His facial expressions were very convincing. I just hope he won't dwell on those cigars. You can't recognize the real Ji Chang Wook here. He was able to deviate the real and his role. He deserves an award for this.

Looking forward to his upcoming drama with Shin Hye Sun and Jeon Jong Seo. And more to come...
