University student K (Seohyun) is an ordinary young woman, but, one day, she finds herself in her favorite romance novel that is set during historical times. She has now become the minor character Cha Sun-Chaek. She is the daughter of a wealthy noble family and her dream is have a peaceful and normal life. Cha Sun-Chaek, while possessed by K, then spends one night with Lee Beon (TaecYeon), who is the lead male character in the novel. He comes from a royal lineage and is favored by the King. Lee Beon has a cold-blooded personality and is gifted with an attractive appearance and outstanding martial arts skills. He has also experienced a heartbreaking past. Somehow, Lee Beon and Cha Sun-Chaek happen to meet and talk. Lee Beon is consoled by her about his heartbreaking past. They spend the night together. Soon, Cha Sun-Chaek tries to connect Lee Beon to Jo Eun-Ae (Kwon Han-Sol), who is the lead female character in the novel. According to the novel, Lee Beon and Jo Eun-Ae are supposed to fall in love, but, due to the appearance of Cha Sun-Chaek, Jo Eun-Ae's fate has changed. No matter how hard Cha Sun-Chaek tries, Lee Beon’s love always finds its way back to her.

Other people around them include Jung Soo-Kyeom (Seo Bum-June) and Do Hwa-Sun (Ji Hye-Won). Jung Soo-Kyeom is a young officer from a prestigious family. He is Lee Beon’s only friend. Do Hwa-Sun is an ambitious woman whose life goal is to marry Lee Beon and become a member of the royal family.

I absolutely love this Kdrama! Even the OST is chef’s kiss. I really hope they bring back more fantasy rom-coms.

This isn’t a typical sageuk drama and there are no boring episode. Seohyun and Taecyeon’s characters are adorable and their chemistry is amazing. I didn’t expect the plot twist!! I became suspicious of Eun ae the moment she joined as one of the candidates for lee bun’s wife but i still gave her the benefit of the doubt. Sun Chaek has been nothing but nice to her and i feel bad for the second lead who liked her. I suddenly found myself rooting for the Do hwaseon LMAO

Piet Oct 17 2025 12:02 pm Reading the notification in the opening that this drama is adapted from webtoon, I racked my brain trying to remember all the saeguk manhwa I have ever read. And I can't recall any. Then watching the 1st episode, I went,"Aaahh! It's from Ripley!" It feels kinda weird since the original manhwa has a western setting and not joseon. First episode feels kinda off for me, dunno what could it be? Is it the music? I think the music plays a significant role in a drama, and it doesn't sit right for me in this one. I'll try watching some more. But honestly, I think this could be done better...

When I was watching earlier, it felt predictable, repetitive and boring so I skipped a lot of parts but I definitely will rewatch more patiently with all these positive comments.

Sq Aug 20 2025 5:05 pm I loved this drama until I read the webtoon. This drama is funny from ep 1 to 8 or 9. The last 3 episodes are like melodrama boring sageuk. I wish they keep the story in the drama stay close to the webtoon, which is still funny until the end. The ML has that perfect charisma to be the duke, the FL is pretty and charming, all the actors did really great job. The thing that I found so weird in this drama is when that kid appears randomly and acts like a deity. Also when they're switching souls, I much prefer webtoon version. I am still re watching this drama from ep 1 to 8, I like the chemistry between Sun Chaek with Yi Beon, they are so cute.

TaecYeon stands out as Yi Beon, showing both coldness and persistent determination in pursuing his love for his woman. Seohyun is fun to watch, especially her charm in cocktail-making scenes. The ending is also satisfying. Highly recommended to also watch their behind-the-scene videos, where you find Yi Beon mostly smiling and laughing !

Taecyeon and Seohyun played their roles very well. 2PM and SNSD were also like Yoona and Junho. Those who know the Caribbean music video will definitely know, hehe...

All the actors in this drama are very good. Good drama. Rate 8.5/10

Real villain never expose one self publicly. She is just very honest with her personality and let her dark side leads. I just love a woman that way, honesty is the best personality

dwed Jul 16 2025 10:06 pm I was in love with this drama for the earlier parts, but the latter parts are a bit disappointing, and it seems the rating drop attest to that. The earlier parts were very charming with Cha Sun Chaek as the woman out of time, using her non-conventional, modern day smarts to survive in Joseon era. The latter parts (especially since Lee Gyu came into the scene) became more of a standard saeguk full of intrigues, where Sun Chaek barely uses her smarts and things become more historical melodrama than romantic comedy.

Taecyeon and Seohyun are putting in their best performances but the story is floundering. It is wasting the efforts of the main leads! Can the writer-nim be changed to a better one? No wonder KBS is getting zero-viewing for its other dramas due to unskilful writer-nims.

Elaine Jul 03 2025 7:52 pm I think Cho Eun Ae is the person who pushed Cha Seon Chaek into the water, not Do Hwa Seon. Do Hwa Seon is evil but she is openly nasty. If she lose Yi Beom to Cha Seon Chaek, it will only be a huge dent to her vanity. Do Hwa Seon is a half-royal, after all. On the other hand, Cho Eun Ae has more at stake. She is an orphan and her family is low-status even though rich. Marrying Yi Beom is their ticket to high birth and royalty, which Cho Eun Ae and her adoptive father are hungering for. Cho Eun Ae, herself, is pretty sneaky, having known tough life and survival from the beginning.

And so far, although some things like places and themes have changed, I view the adaptation in a positive light. I hope it'll continue to be fun and all because the manhwa was really fun to read (just like Ripley's personality lol).

P.s. I didn't imagine Taecyeon to be Zeronis but he's surprisingly doing it well.

iamseoleovly May 31 2025 10:33 pm i'm really looking forward to it. i love the chemistry between the actors. as someone who's read the webtoon, i can confidently say i’ll be watching the drama too. in adaptations, it’s normal for appearances or settings to change. what really matters is that the characters’ personalities and dynamics stay the same. from the teasers, it seems like they’ve stayed faithful to the original story. there're some scenes like the FL preparing her special shot, getting drunk from excitement, and spending the night with the ML. which show they’re carefully building the flow of the story. that’s what’s important.

some people might prefer a western version, but personally i think this version is way more interesting. we’re literally watching a story where someone falls into a webtoon. it doesn’t have to reflect korean history 100%,just like the western version doesn’t reflect western history either. for me, it’s all about the script. if the story’s good, that’s all that matters
