In spring, 2006, Shin Sol-I (So Ju-Yeon) is a 17-year-old high school student. She has loved Cha Heon (Kim Yo-Han) for a long time. Cha Heon is her classmate and also a childhood friend. They happen to live next door to each other. Shin Sol-I tries to express her feelings to him, but it doesn't go well.

CLN Feb 12 2025 5:20 am Tried so hard not to like the 2nd lead knowing she would go for the 1st one, still wouldve preferred the 2nd one. And the only thing I hate about this is how they skip stories and not continuing what happened after each eps. But cute drama. Love the main OST a lot.

I don’t see the hate me don’t understand why some people hate it but whatever. I understand that they didn’t enjoy it as much as I did. But like actually the way heon acted was so cute, yea some times it was enjoying but it was still cute. Would totally recommend!

Me Oct 26 2022 11:39 am Heon was pretty childish at first, like being mean to her one day and being jealous and simpy the next. Daesung is a pretty good second lead, he respects that she doesn’t like him but still stays by her side. Friends side romance is pretty cute too. Really mad a soli breakin up with heon and being mad at him for going to the US, like barely gave him a day to consider it on his own. The way time passes is kind of confusing and fast

Of course they make the ML have a tragic backstory so everyone feels bad for him and sympathizes over his past and uses it as an excuse for the way he treats the FL and people in general, ugh so stupid. His father passing is indeed a reasoning for his coldness but not an excuse for treating FL so mean !! Toying with her and that stupid smirk after he does something he knowssss she'll cheese over and keeping her on a leash to wait for him for like 2.5 years . Ughhh 2nd ML deserved so much better. He NEVER made her cry negatively other than expressing his feelings and was always there for her when ML trampled over her feelings UGHHH.

This drama is another ditzy dumb playing girl blind sided and tolerating being mistreated by ML when there is a boy clearly far better, kinder, and sweeter to her but no one is looking out for her :(( On A Positive Note this drama is soooo cute and the actors especially swimmer boy is sooo good ;)

tara Nov 19 2021 7:18 pm (spoiler free! :) ) Wowwwwwwwwww. cannot put into words how much i loved this drama. i was hesitant to start watching based on some negative reviews here but i only regret not watching it sooner?? i was looking for something lighthearted and sweet and i got just that and more! love, friendship, laughter, a little sadness sometimes but that makes it special!! will miss my group of friends so much!!!!!! personally a 10/10 must watch if you’re looking for a drama of this genre/lighthearted vibe. however i will rebuttal some of the below reviews. the drama is by no means perfect, and if u go into this expecting oscar worthy performances you wont get them. but that doesnt mean it isn’t a great drama that can be enjoyed by everyone!!! congratulations to the cast and crew for gifting us with a truly heartwarming and exciting story <33

It was obvious that there were gonna be comparisons since it’s a remake but what really bothered me was the main actress’s acting, she tried too hard to appear cute and youthful (?) to the point that it makes it annoying to watch whereas Shen Yue does it so naturally in the Chinese version. Also their relationship seemed different, It felt like in the Korean version there wasn’t really a slow transition to the romance. If I hadn’t watched the original drama maybe this wouldn’t been ok but the Korean remake pales in comparison. It’s just my opinion so don’t attack me.

I watched cause of the hype but i felt it was draggy at some point which made me uninterested. Tried watching korean remake and surprisingly i loved it. Probably its short and straight to the point. They did an Amazing job adapting the show. Cast did an incredible job. Really liked the idea of last episode instead of a throwback scene.

I actually loved this version better.

Really really want a season 2. I still cannot move on. :(

Sprite Apr 01 2021 1:59 pm I LOVED this drama. Acting/places/adaptation was really on point. It was a good choice to pick the cast from the people between age 24-27. Everyone says that they looked old (especially the female lead) but you forget that half of the drama takes place in a period of time when they are 25-30. Their after school life was as good as their high school years. I actually wanted keep watching their high scool life in the original version.(There was a loss of tempo in the original due to the duration of the episodes) Scenes like Woo Dae-Sung telling Shin Sol-i that he won't love her anymore or Shin Sol-i's plan going wrong scenes were actually much more better here. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY making a whole episode about the development of their relationship instead of making a 10 minutes scene was a brilliant idea. Liked this version better. Really really want a season to despite that it has a 0.001% possibility.

Though, he is the youngest in the cast, and this os first acting job, for me, he really gave a good shot in every aspect. I am hoping to see more of his shows. I think, he is more into rom com. Good job to all the casts, congratulations. Congratulations Kim Yohan, very talented young man, good in singing, good in dancing

Linda Feb 22 2021 7:23 pm This drama is highly recommended. It is very light, no conflict and doesn't consume much time. You can relax while watching this drama. I prefer Korean version because of how the director/writer modify the characters to become warmer and more expressive instead of cold stone/strict.

Despite of receiving criticsm at early episodes, they still nailed it and wrapped up with total views on official channel almost 40 millions. That doesn't count who watched on Netflix and illegal sites.

If remake were meant to follow exactly like original, then it will not have its own speciality and I am glad it didn't follow 100%.

At first I almost didn't want to watch this ver because of bad reviews online, but after watching it, I am falling in love with it especially Cha Heon. He might not be as tall and cold as Jiang Chen but Kim Yohan bring out and potray Cha Heon his own way and he did very good as a first timer. Shin Solyi characters also was made to be more independent and less obsessed with ML. She was shown as someone who has dignity and stand on her own feet.

In conclusion, reviews online can be biased because different people have different preference while some are just want to throw hates without solid reason. Now the drama has ended but I still cannot move on from it.

Although I like Chi version too. In fact, I watched it several times before the kversion came out. But I must say that the kversion slammed it! Every changes that I hoped for from the original version was perfectly executed in the kversion. Well done!

I have high respect for the Chinese version though. Hoping for more Chinese drama remakes. Like Go Ahead, Put your Head on my Shoulder, Find Yourself, A Little Thing Called First Love.

C&KDrama Feb 19 2021 3:10 am Some of Korean drama-addict might not know this drama is actually from a chinese romance drama with the same title on 2017. I’m quite disappointed as it doesn’t achieve my expectation as the leads has a very little chemistry.

Back to the topic, the main OST for this drama is “Lovable” which originally sung by Kim JongKook (Running Man and My Little Old Boy fans must have known it on the spot right?) I love both OST from both drama version. I’d suggest u guys to watch the chinese version too ;)

Anyway u guys can watch the female lead chemistry in another Korean drama, “Dr. Romantic 2”.

The casting was lovely. Was shocked to find out the FL was older than the ML, but ever since I found out, I can kind of see it.

In my opinion, Shin Sol-I should have dated Hoi-Hyeon. Yo-Han played around with her feelings for way too long but I guess it is what it is. I wish the show could go on & on...I'm going to miss it

Hoeni Feb 18 2021 10:57 am I love this series. The story is only on the surface considering that it's only 20 mins long per ep. But you can still the how the characters are progressing. Esp Cha Heon. You can see how his affection toward Sol-I grows, and when they are finally together, you can see that he loves her a lot, just like he said, more than she does. I love how Yohan is able to potray all of that, plus being super cute too. It's a story to make you feel good, don't think too much while watching it.

Uhm, there are some important scenes that are skipped so the story line is confusing. For the example, in eps 21 sol-i and heon are still quarreling but in the next episode they already sleep together, like what? When they made up? And I think heon and seol-i don't have any chemistry. Some scene of they two feel awkward. I prefer to watch the original (Chinese version)

But I am impressed with Kim Yo Han, he managed to bring the character very well in a young age. At first, he was a bit slow but slowly progressing in every each eps. And I really hope that both of leads could put a bit love chemistry. Its a bit on and off there. It is because the gap of age? I don't think should be a problem because we had numerous age gap among actors and actresses on drama. I am a bit sad because it close to its ending. Too soon to end? Overall, I liked this Drama. It is a good catch! It is very cute, natural and I can feel butterfly in my stomach! It had it own specialty. Fighting!

To be honest, this drama is a solid 4.5/10... the reason for that is that I feel like the two leads have no chemistry. At this point, Ka-Young and Jin-Hwan are a better couple than the main couple Sol-i and Heon. I also get really frustrated while watching it because of Sol-i. In my opinion, she's very dumb and it's annoying watching her make bad decisions. But, the plot is solid and most of the actors are good. In conclusion, the only people I'd recommend this drama to are people who like dramas with short episodes and rom-com dramas.

Both the fl acting is fine, the male lead needs improvement tho ( yohan is fine in their latter episode, but at the beginning he still stiff but hu yitian constantly stiff from start to finish. Boring. ). The scene where heon patient died after sol yi broke up with him, when he cried, i cried too ?

J Feb 11 2021 8:12 pm I only watch this drama because each episode is only 20 minutes long. If it was any longer I would have stopped a long time ago. The first 15 episodes are pointless as it's the same thing over and over again. Girl likes guy, guy secretly likes girl, guy gets mad a girl, girl gets sad. Oh and another guy likes girl too. The drama finally gets interesting once they leave high school but the scenes are so choppy and move so fast. Also, the breakup was ridiculous. It's fine to breakup but at least have an honest conversation with one another. Or give the other person a chance to talk/explain. Don't ghost the person and run away like you're 12. Hard to believe FL ever really liked ML based on the way she treated him.

Will finish the drama because it's easy to do so but it's so-so.

This made me realise it. Aigoo.... Lovestruck in the city by contrast is more complicated. And that's the difference between teenage love affairs and adult ones. Well, in general that is. There is always the exception. Perhaps it also depends on country & culture too...

It's kind of like It Started With A Kiss/Mischievous Kiss/Love In Tokyo, where the female lead was really naive and her world only revolved around the male lead. Unrealistic but it's meant to be that way.

They all played their part well. It's a lighthearted, feel good series.

Nevertheless, they are convincingly playing high school students. I won't watch more episodes because it is aimed for a younger audience than me. BTW, is this a remake of the same titled Chinese drama of 2017?

People are saying the male lead in the korean version is much nicer than the chinese version. That must mean the chinese version must have been unbearable to watch. I can't sit here and watch a really, really irritating girl pine after a guy who barely wants to look at her and only cares about her when he sees another guy is interested in her. She also really can't take a hint can she, she literally follows him everywhere and all she can think about is him. She has no life without him, whilst he does nearly everything except think about her. The male lead is so cold and emotionally unavailable jesus christ. How can anyone root for these two to be together. What does this show teach young girls - that if you obsess over someone long enough you can annoy them into liking you.

KK Jan 04 2021 10:11 pm I watched the cver n the tempo was slow..in ep 10 i kind skip a lot of the story (2x ffw) the Male lead too stiff n robot like till it became unrealistic for school love story..this version kind of upbeat, lively, cute and bright...male lead normal human being although still cold towards the female lead. And the female lead...she's being cute without being annoying (cver really annoying and not that cute..sorry maybe she try hard to look bubbly)..i didnt know sol i character can be loveable while being obsessed...love the casting....this version? Definitely better..waiting for the next episode (Sorry for the bad english)

SP Jan 04 2021 8:14 pm Like the Korean version more than the Chinese version. Leads are more loveable compared to the Chinese version. The ML in the Korean version seems to smile more to FL, whereas, the ML in the Chinese version always seems to be in a bad mood. FL is prettier and cuter in the Korean version.

Britt Jan 04 2021 5:31 pm Hi, I love this series! It's so sweet ??. I just wish the episodes were longer than 30 minutes. This cast is much cuter and good looking than their Chinese counterpart! The plot moves along really nicely (better than Chinese one) with So Riya playing it just fab. The swimmer is the hero in my opinion but of course doesn't stand a chance against Cha Heon which is typical of the Chinese plots ?. The lines and the songs are great too! Well done translators for translating the songs, a key element of this series.

Also how they remade that nerdy guy friend .. he is annoying . I like the 2nd male lead .. fits his role so much very charming like gao zi ting

pie Jan 04 2021 7:27 am some may find the kdrama remake a lil bit disappointing, i mean its not as good as the original but it makes my heart flutter so think its good. and ive seen a lot complain abt the male main lead that hes already soft for her in the 1st ep, but i always thought jiang chen was a lil bit and unreasonably mean to xiaoxi. But with Heon he has the 'cold' personality but that coldness doesnt include being kinda mean to sol-i. in conclusion i like both male main lead from 2 ver.

Yeo Hoe-hyun is 26 years old (May 1994). Cho Hye Jung is 25 years old (1995). Jeong Jin-Hwan is 27 years old (April 1993).. I'm just shocked about their ages... like other ppl as a fan of ALSB also. kinda disappointed tho. i don't feel any chemistry, maybe bcs of their age??? but still goodluck abt this.

changrim Jan 02 2021 6:08 am I think we cannot compare this to c ver. This version is made as web drama (produced by whynot and kakao) and not even sponsored by Netflix. The only difference than other web k-dramas it is aired on Netflix instead of the youtube channel. The c ver. is full-fledged 24 episode drama with 40+ mins every episode while this one barely 15 minutes per episodes.

But I love the drama with this kind of concept. somewhere between 2000-2010 is a weird time and not many kdrama portrayed this period. 2000-2010 is like the transition between the modern era and 1980s, between poverty and prosperity. As someone born in the early 2000s I can relate so much with what's going on. I hope korean will make something like reply 1988 using this period.

I'm not a fan of that drama because the plot is too light & basic for my liking. But I'm curious how this Korean remake will be. So I tried not to vocalize any negative commentary just because it doesn't live up to my own ideals. It's only 2 of 24 episodes, so.

But I think I like the way they portrayed Cha Heon's character better. I always thought that Jiang Chen was unnecessary rude and too mean to Xiaoxi.

And Kim Yohan grabbed my attention, he portrayed tsundere but cutie clumsy Cha Heon quite well. He's so handsome. The thing is, he's more like a little brother to Juyeon, he looks so young among other casts. Looking forward to seeing him as doctor Cha Heon though. Anyway, I found out he's also an idol, I thought he was just a rookie actor. Well he has a bright future ahead of him...

I feel like the Korean characters don't accurately portray the original feel of the Chinese characters. I can't explain it, but the charming, fresh feel isn't there (yet)... The drama is cute and light. Kim Yohan debut as an actor is definitely impressive. According to their director, Yohan is an acting genius. He gave what is required of him.

Looking forward to the next episodes.

Aside from the male lead and jeong jin-hwan, i feel like other characters need improvement on portraying each of their roles.
